  1. one of my all time favorite Chiefs https://www.chiefs.com/news/tim-grunhard-to-be-inducted-into-chiefs-hall-of-fame Kansas City Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt announced on Saturday that former center Tim Grunhard will be the 2021 inductee into the Chiefs Hall of Fame. Grunhard is the 50th individual and 46th player to earn this coveted honor. The official enshrinement ceremony into the Chiefs Hall of Fame will be held during Chiefs Alumni Weekend at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium this fall. "We are excited to welcome Tim as the newest member of our Chiefs Hall of Fame," Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said. "In 11 seasons with the club, Tim was a stalwart on one of the most talented offensive line groups in franchise history. Known for his toughness and grit, Tim helped pave the way for Marty Schottenheimer's physical running attack that was a staple of Chiefs football in the 1990s. Off the field, Tim showed a commitment to serving the community throughout his career, and his dedication to Kansas City has continued well after his playing days. We look forward to adding Tim's name to the Ring of Honor at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium this fall." Grunhard spent 11 years with the Kansas City Chiefs (1990-2000), appearing in 169 games with 164 starts, including a streak of 120 straight starts from Sept. 5, 1993 - Oct. 29, 2000, the fourth-longest starting campaign in franchise history. His 164 starts with the team are the fifth-most among any player in Chiefs annals. Following the 1999 season he was named to his first career Pro Bowl becoming the first Kansas City center to make a Pro Bowl appearance since fellow Chiefs Hall of Fame inductee Jack Rudnay was nominated following the 1977 season. Grunhard took over the role of starting center for the Chiefs during just his third game of his rookie year in 1990 and was rewarded with a nomination to the PFWA All-Rookie Team alongside teammate Dave Szott. Known for his effort and intensity on the field, Grunhard spearheaded a Chiefs offensive line that helped the Kansas City rushing offense rank among the NFL's top five during four of his final six seasons (1995-97 & '99) with the team. He was also a key factor in the Chiefs allowing 22.0 or fewer sacks four times during the '90s, including a franchise-low 19.0 QB takedowns during the 1994 season. During Grunhard's time with the Chiefs, the team reached the NFL playoffs seven times in the 1990s, one of just three clubs to accomplish this feat in that timespan, including reaching the AFC Championship Game in January 1994. Grunhard was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round (40th overall) of the 1990 NFL Draft after an illustrious career playing under legendary head coach Lou Holtz at Notre Dame where he was a four-year starter and All-American. During his junior and senior campaigns, the Fighting Irish tallied a 24-1 record and brought home a National Championship in 1988. The Chicago native became fully invested in Kansas City during his time with the Chiefs, hosting the wildly popular one-hour "Tim Grunhard Show" from 1993-97. Since his playing days with the Chiefs, Grunhard and his family still reside in Kansas City and cites the team's fans for keeping him in Chiefs Kingdom. He currently hosts the local radio show "Crunch Time" while also serving as a board member of the Third and Long Foundation based in Kansas City and the Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach at Bishop Miege High School in Kansas. He is an active member of the Kansas City Ambassadors and served as Ambassadors President for a two-year term in 2019-20. Grunhard was also inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
  2. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/05/05/chiefs-sign-will-parks/ Veteran safety Will Parks is heading to Kansas City. Parks has agreed to a one-year, $1.13 million deal with the Chiefs, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The 26-year-old Parks spent time with both the Broncos and Eagles last season. He originally entered the NFL as a 2016 sixth-round pick of the Broncos. The Chiefs didn’t make any additions to their secondary in the draft, so it’s not surprising the secondary is an area they decided to address this week. Parks won’t be a starter in Kansas City, but he will compete for a roster spot and add some veteran depth and contribute on special teams.
  3. maybe they pro rate his recovery schedule and just see if he's on tract to make it by season's start
  4. The Ravens have gotten Villanueva, two-year, $14 million
  5. Report: Colts to target Charles Leno if Eric Fisher fails physical The Indianapolis Colts are bringing in former Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Eric Fisher in for a visit and a physical later in the week, which may ultimately determine their decision to sign him. The Colts have a massive need at left tackle and even though they seem confident in Sam Tevi, it wouldn’t hurt to upgrade the position with an addition like Fisher. But after tearing his Achilles in January, Fisher has to pass a physical with the Colts before they move forward. If he doesn’t pass the physical, the Colts will reportedly target former Chicago Bears left tackle Charles Leno, per Stephen Holder of The Athletic.
  6. IIRC isn't the Players Rep a O-lineman for the Browns? From what I can remember he'd like to all but remove Training Camp..sounds like a trouble maker that I'd cut if he were on my team
  7. altho they can be annoying when they dont work in crucial times I think they are an effort for the players to have "fun". more than a "need"
  8. I have not heard it for years but just recently. The only thing that means is I live under a rock and yea I dont get it either
  9. Da Bears have released both Tackles but yea I'd tend to agree or think they can resign him at less $$
  10. you dont red shirt a 1rst round pick unless its a Qb and then rarely
  11. Well now that the draft is over more FA's look to be hitting the open market.. The LT from Da Bears was surprising ..did the Chiefs move too fast getting Brown? I dunno and hindsight is always 20-20 but. Seems the WTFs released a couple of nobody WRs but one runs a 4.27 Jeff Badat out of Oklahoma
  12. So once they identified Gray as a player they wanted, how exactly did the trade and move up come together for Kansas City? According to Veach, the Chiefs began targeting Gray as soon as they welcomed fourth-round pick Joshua Kaindoh to the team. “Looking at the board and kind of working through that,” Veach said. “Josh Kaindoh was a guy we were interested in and once we fulfilled that kind of need there at defensive end with Josh, we quickly looked at the board and we knew that we wouldn’t be able to get up all that high. So once we got into that range where we felt we could do a flopping of picks that would get us up, we were going to be aggressive. So we just had to wait. So we were literally waiting for 15, 20, 25 picks to go by. We had two different deals in place, we actually had the Jets, at first they weren’t committing to the move. I think there was a team behind them that said they would commit to the move. We had just said that if our guy was still on the board, we’d be interested. Once the Jets got on the clock, they called us back and said that they would be interested.” Veach was willing to trade up for Gray, but he also made it clear that it was only to a certain extent. The team wasn’t interested in surrendering a pick to ensure that they could move up and get Gray. Ultimately, they wanted to have that sixth-round pick to see what type of value was available. That was the right call, seeing as they were able to land a player considered to be a steal in Trey Smith. “But we were really identifying that trade about 20 picks ahead,” Veach explained. “We were just waiting, we couldn’t get into that range because we didn’t want to surrender a pick. We could have moved up even higher by just surrendering a flat pick, but we wanted to work in volume and we identified a few teams that were willing to swap picks. And we were OK with shifting down later and allowing a team to come up higher later if we could move up a little in that fifth.” Only time will tell if Gray can live up to the expectations of the front office staff, but he’s someone that they specifically targeted because of his skill set. They put a lot of work in to ensure that they got a shot to work with and develop him behind Kelce, an opportunity that Gray himself relishes. “That was a guy, again as soon as we selected Josh Kaindoh, we had our eyes locked on,” Veach concluded. “We called Josh and we welcomed him to the Kingdom and as soon as we got off the phone we were back in the draft room, on the phone, calling every team to see how we could flop picks with them to get back up there and get Noah.”
  13. I'd say the supporting class is better as well so that'd help
  14. just an FYI, point being altho it seems like a lot of $$ to many of us its over 4 years and hardly worth risking your life for..but then again some/many do it for much less NFL Draft 2020: 6th Round Pick Salary Projections PICKS SALARY RANGE 180-190 $662,972-$655,258
  15. Jet kept bringing it up, I researched it but could find nothing to support it then Jet thought he remember some talking heads mentioning it...take it for what its worth
  16. except for the DE who I think was a "Oh Fuk the raiders just took our guy pick" is overall very good.. I'm happy with it is my first reaction
  17. watching those clips you could tell the QB was the weak link

  19. I was not trying to be derogatory towards the guy. It'd be nice to see a solid #2 receiving TE. I think that the Chiefs had a couple of players go before they picked and made a decision that was not to happen again so traded up for this guy.. typical Veach move and they pan out more than not I believe.
  20. every season there is a training camp love affair with some new player.. rarely do they pan out to meet up with the hype..maybe this year will be different
  21. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2021/05/01/2021-kansas-city-chiefs-undrafted-free-agents-tracker/?fbclid=IwAR1yHhHXEcwSKbuKNfRyO9zM9iqhFdNWNjkyzJKMBy_8nyBMcSC4zUk0t18 Zayne Anderson, LB, BYUThe Chiefs continue to try to bolster the linebacker corps beyond the pick of Nick Bolton by bringing in a couple undrafted options to try to make the roster, including Anderson, an older prospect from BYU who had 41 tackles last year. Riley Cole, LB, South AlabamaAn experienced and decorated linebacker from the Sun Belt conference hopes to make the leap to the pros by showing coaches he can excel on special teams and learn quickly. Malik Herring, DE, Georgia Herring, who had 24 pressures for the Bulldogs last season, tore his ACL during Senior Bowl practices so he’s going to be a redshirt for the Chiefs this season, but stashing such a player has yielded dividends for the Chiefs in the past. Devon Key, S, Western Kentucky
  22. seems maybe the Chiefs realized n these later rounds siting on your thumbs does not get you the players you wanted..
