  1. While it remains unofficial, another strong report indicates the Lions are hiring Dan Campbell as the team’s head coach. This one comes from FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer and comes a day after several NFL.com reports also indicated the Lions were set to hire Campbell once he becomes available.
  2. just a heads up but for Christmas got a mail order package from JS... . dont bother with the sides they aint what they used to be
  3. On Friday, HC Andy Reid confirmed that the team would be without both WR Sammy Watkins and LB Willie Gay Jr. on Sunday against the Browns. Watkins, of course, earned the nickname "Playoff Sammy" for his ability to show up and show out during the playoffs. A total of four players didn't participate in practice on Friday for the Chiefs. Among them was rookie RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Reid noted that Edwards-Helaire is making progress in recovery from injury. He'll be listed as questionable with a chance to play against Cleveland. "A couple of days ago he moved around really well," Reid said of Edwards-Helaire. "Then we've just kind of backed off of him. He's still doing stuff, just not with the group. You know we'll just see how he does here and we're literally taking it day-by-day. So we'll see how it rolls." One modicum of good news, Reid confirmed the Chiefs could possibly be getting special teams ace Dorian O'Daniel back off of injured reserve this week.
  4. Player Injury Participation* CB Rashad Fenton Ankle/Foot LP LB Willie Gay Jr. Ankle DNP WR Sammy Watkins Calf DNP RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire Ankle DNP TE Deon Yelder Groin DNP RB Le’Veon Bell Knee FP OT Mike Remmers Back FP LB Ben Niemann Hamstring FP DT Derrick Nnadi Knee FP WR Demarcus Robinson Back FP DB Armani Watts Concussion FP * DNP = Did not participate | LP = Limited participation | FP = Full participation | NIR = Not injury related After a limited practice on Wednesday where Clyde Edwards-Helaire was spotted with heavily-taped ankles, he did not practice on Thursday. It’s unclear if he’s getting a rest day en route to a start or if he suffered a setback in his recovery from a high ankle sprain. Friday’s practice status will likely determine whether he’s available for the playoffs or not. TE Deon Yelder, who was also limited on Wednesday, did not practice on Thursday.
  5. The Kansas City Chiefs pay a lot of attention to detail when they make roster decisions. The Chiefs have a great rookie punter in Tommy Townsend, but this week, he won’t be doing all of the punting drills during special teams periods in practice. Instead, the team will rely on former Chiefs starter of 15 years, Dustin Colquitt, who was recently re-signed on the Kansas City practice squad. Why will Colquitt be taking the majority of the reps over Townsend if he’s not scheduled to play, though? This week the Chiefs will be facing Browns punter Jamie Gillan, who happens to be a left-footed punter. Do you know who else is a lefty punter? Dustin Colquitt. “It’s really fortunate to be able to get Dustin back,” Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub said. “He’s a Chief, he’s always been a Kansas City Chief and he always will be. It’s good to have him back in the locker room with the guys. He’s just a fun guy to be around and he’s going to help Tommy (Townsend) down the stretch here and he’s helping our football team because of the three teams that are left in the AFC, there are two left-footed punters that are left and he’s giving us those looks during practice, catch a left ball rotation for our returners, you know a live ball which is better than catching off a jugs and he’s been a real asset having him on the practice squad right now.” Colquitt is giving Mecole Hardman, Tyreek Hill, Demarcus Robinson and other return specialists a specific rotation on the ball that they wouldn’t be getting from Townsend in practice. It’s those small details that can be the difference between a muffed punt, a fair catch and a punt return during the course of a game. Catching some balls with that type of rotation will be a vital piece of preparation for each of those players. Including Gillan, there are two left-footed punters that remain in the playoffs. Bills punter Corey Bojorquez is also a lefty and if both Kansas City and Buffalo advance and meet in the AFC Championship Game, Colquitt’s leg will come into play again as the special teams unit prepares for that challenge.
  6. Surely the Chiefs can find a more reliable/cheaper replacement for Sammy next year and I'd expect to see CEH not being used .. Thompson proved to be a decent 3rd option
  7. Slaps? ok I'll freely admit I have not been to KC much since I moved but never heard of it ok looked it up..first impression is that anyplace that also has a Taco Tuesday and a Fried Chicken night is not a dedicated BBQ place as it needs other attractions to bring in the customers
  8. I can grill better than I can buy.. but dang early February grilln and chilln can get mighty cold
  9. Kafka is being talked about as a Steeler OC candidate.. hope Chiefs block that
  10. we just got some JS for Christmas.. about $200 worth.. overall I was disappointed. I was told by a person "in the know" that JS's Catering business has all but gone away and now the Orders are being handled by the Catering Dept and its not what you'd get at the restaurant. I wont do that again
  11. cant practice yet talking smack about the Browns Last weekend’s win set the Browns up for a game in Kansas City this Sunday and something tweeted by one of the Chiefs wideouts made its way back to Mayfield this week. Sammy Watkins was tweeting during the Browns’ win and a Chiefs fan replied to say “looks like we got some comp next week” in reference to Cleveland. Watkins replied that “I wouldn’t go that far lol”
  12. I'd say you are spot on.. in his radio interviews he is hard to listen to he'll use "at the end of the day" ad nauseum and other that Pederson's brief success and rapid failure and Nagy's "meh" coaching job I think there is serious doubt to the OC's real qualifications
  13. well if he wasn't "that guy" why the hell would he interview in the first place?
  14. you dont plan on being successful do you? Its easy you need to strike when your Iron is Hot. in a few more years shit happens and all of a sudden your not a hot commodity any more because A Teams are tired of asking and getting denied or B for whatever reason the offense goes to average and you dont look like the boy genius anymore
  15. The Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns are officially set to face off in the divisional round of the playoffs. Ex-Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt is slated to return to Arrowhead Stadium with the Browns. This will be the first time he’s faced his former team since his release back in the 2018 season. The last time these two teams met, Hunt was actually still a member of the Chiefs. When Hunt spoke to the media following last night’s wild-card game, he revealed that he still receives a lot of support from his former teammates in Kansas City. “Yeah, I definitely keep in touch with those guys,” Hunt told reporters following the wild-card game. “That’s where I started and they did a lot for me. I’ve got a lot of people on that team that look out for me and care for me as a person. I care for them too.” Hunt is coming off of a big performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he had eight carries for 48 yards and two touchdowns. One of Hunt’s strongest advocates, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, gave him a shoutout on Twitter during the game. Leading up to the game, don’t expect much more love between the two players, though. “I probably won’t be doing too much talking to those guys, but maybe one or a few I’ll call and just chop it up, ask them how they’re doing and stuff,” Hunt said. “Other than that, you know, sorry but we’re enemies this week fellas.” During the Browns’ postgame locker room celebration, Hunt was recorded on his Instagram live feed saying, “Next week’s personal, next week’s personal.” It could have simply been a heat-of-the-moment type thing as he only has himself to blame for the circumstances surrounding his release from Kansas City. Yet, when a Cleveland media member asked Hunt if he had something to prove to his former team, he didn’t answer directly. “I don’t say too much about that,” Hunt said. “I’m just going to let my game go through.” I take that to mean that Hunt intends to let his game do the talking. And after his big performance against the Steelers, you can rest assured that the Chiefs will be game-planning for his involvement too.
  16. was wondering the same and whats the definition of a "perfect opportunity"? ..Reid retiring or dieing and staying in KC?
