  1. Why did the Chiefs send a conditional pick to the Cowboys for Hendershot? Well, it all has to do with how the team looks to round out the bottom of their roster. "Well, I think when you get to the final touches of a 53-man roster, I think you're looking for special teams," Chiefs GM Brett Veach told reporters on Thursday. "I think (Peyton) Hendershot's played tons special teams reps there. So, if you don't get it all the time from that running back position, you have to get it from somewhere else. And we have a good linebacking core, it would be good to do more at that tight end position (on special teams)." Chiefs GM Brett Veach spilled the beans on some big plans for fourth-year tight end Noah Gray. The former Duke Blue Devil is due for an expanded role on offense heading into this year according to Veach. Acquiring a player like Hendershot allows the Chiefs to reduce his snaps on special teams and increase his workload on the offensive side of the ball. "It'd also be good to take Noah (Gray) off some of those things," Veach explained. "I think Noah continues to get better, and he's a guy that I think we want to feature a little bit more this year. So knowing that it's good to have the ability to take him off some of those, some of those special teams."
  2. In seven days, the Chiefs host the Ravens to start the 2024 regular season. Kansas City receiver Rashee Rice most likely will be playing. Rice faces eight felony charges arising from a March street-racing incident in Dallas. On a media conference call to preview the upcoming season, the NFL reiterated it is monitoring Rice’s case. “Following the conclusion of the legal process, the NFL will review the matter under the Personal Conduct Policy,” the league told PFT via email on August 13. The league had not yet commented directly on whether Rice will be placed on paid leave. For felony cases, it’s an available option. However, the league typically only uses it in cases involving domestic violence. In response to the specific question of whether Rice will be placed on paid leave between now and Week 1, the NFL initially did not provide a clear answer. Later, the league said it does not anticipate placing Rice on the Commissioner Exempt list, “unless there’s a material change in the case.” Given that very little seems to be happening in the case, a material change is unlikely within the next week. Which means that Rice will be available to play week after week, unless and until a material change happens — or until the case is resolved and the league conducts a review under the Personal Conduct Policy.
  3. no coincidence it was Pederson to keep the dream alive.. I dont think so Tim
  4. Perine is a quintessential third-down back, meaning that he can be trusted to pass-protect or run routes as a pass-catcher in passing situations. While Clyde Edwards-Helaire provides familiarity with the offense, he's not the back KC wants to have routinely protecting Patrick Mahomes, and his ongoing battle with a recurring illness has made him a questionable participant through much of the team's preseason preparation.

  12. yea by resigning CJ they just ignore it..maybe they just dont see good value come draft day he was pick 37 after all
