  1. There have been multiple reports that the Bears will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Germany this upcoming season, including most recently by German newspaper Bild. But that might not be the case. According to NBC Sports’ Peter King, the Chiefs requested to not have the Bears game played overseas. Considering the draw of the Chicago fanbase, it would make sense why the Chiefs would like to keep this game in Kansas City. The Bears have played in London on three different occasions — their last time being against then-Oakland Raiders in 2019. But this would mark their first time playing in Germany, if that winds up being the case. The Bears-Chiefs matchup features a number of intriguing storylines, including Justin Fields vs. Patrick Mahomes and the Bears facing off against former head coach and current Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.
  2. Yea we heard the sirens going off..sound really carries out here. luckily the storm just decided to take hard left so all we got was the light show not that we are mad about it but we are 4.75"s shy on rain this year so some of the moisture would of been nice. It's F'n dry up here.
  3. I saw it. and t was pretty underwhelming..Patrick and wife are doing the F1 Miami Grandpre today. They certainly are having fun, an Art Gala at the Met, Ky Derby now Miami. Good for them!
  4. I'm sure those in the viewing area that where affected didn't mind missing Patrick whoppdeedoo moment as they where getting ready to see this
  5. ..it's been tapped https://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/for-petes-sake/article260976342.html
  6. I guess next year will be a tell tale year as if this is a 1 off or a new trend. I dont remember but you'd think that the Teams lobbied for this option during the last negotiations so they'd want to be able to use it but 20 out of 32 picks seems a bit odd even if what you speculate is true
  7. guys his age cant let it go or they'd never find it again
  8. from this I have to think it's more Salary Cap implications According to OverTheCap.com, the 2020 Collective Bargaining Agreement allows for teams to exercise a fifth-year option for players drafted in the first round as an addition to the standard four-year rookie contract So, with all that being said, below is a list of players who have already had their 5th year option picked up. Most of these players, especially quarterbacks, are due major pay days, but will be under contract for the next year regardless of contract negotiations.
  9. Godrick, who is 6-foot-5 and weighs 295 pounds according to AFI's article, is expected to soon join his new teammates in Kansas City and begin competing throughout the rest of the offseason. He's one of eight IPP players in this year's class to earn that chance in the NFL — one player for every team in the AFC West and NFC North. If Godrick doesn't make the 53-man roster to begin the season, the Chiefs can still keep him around on the practice squad if they have that desire. The NFL grants clubs with IPP players a special practice squad exemption that would allow for an additional spot on the final practice squad total. That is a far more likely outcome for Godrick than a straight-up roster spot assuming he remains with the Chiefs organization, which would still give both sides more time to develop his profile in an effort to form another productive IPP experience while also not forcing him into in-game action.
  10. your probably right and if it works out it's a major win for both parties. I was eading some comments on Bucc's wire. No one is ringing heir hands because of his loss at same time not 100% confident in his replacement and saying he'll be no worse than Brown if healthy. The OT competition should be epic.
  11. yup didn't see that coming at all/ You aint giving that kinda $$ unless your starting him
  12. I think Hurts chances are better than Lamar's..Hurts can already throw
  13. Chiefs decline RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s fifth-year option Charles Goldman Tue, May 2, 2023 at 12:16 PM CDT The Kansas City Chiefs have officially declined to pick up RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s fifth-year option. As a former first-round draft pick, Edwards-Helaire was one of the many NFL players eligible for an option year following the conclusion of his rookie deal. Edwards-Helaire’s fifth-year option would have cost the team around $5.5 million full-guaranteed as he failed to meet the league’s playtime criteria or accolade criteria. The 24-year-old running back has missed a lot of games during his first three seasons due to a laundry list of injuries. As a rookie, he suffered an ankle sprain and a hip injury late in the year. In October of 2021, he suffered an MCL sprain which saw him placed on injured reserve. In Week 16, he suffered a shoulder injury that kept him out until the divisional round of the playoffs. This past year, Edwards-Helaire finished the season on injured reserve after suffering a high ankle sprain against the Chargers in Week 11. Despite the injuries, Edwards-Helaire has managed fair production in his first three seasons. He’s carried the ball 371 times for 1,472 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yards per carry. He’s also added 72 receptions for 577 yards and six receiving touchdowns, proving to be a weapon in the passing game. Without the fifth-year option, Edwards-Helaire will become an unrestricted free agent in 2024. Should Edwards-Helaire manage some sort of a bounceback year in Kansas City in 2023, they’d need to re-sign him or use the franchise tag in order to keep him on the team.
  14. Rd 1..agreed but was hoping for either of the Domers but I'm a Homer Rd2..Hyatt maybe he's just to thin and they think he has reached his ceiling? I was not all that impressed. I hope Rice pans out Rd3.. yea thought there where better OT's left out there Rd4 & 5..WTF's the Man fro SFA is what 26?..he'sa s big as he'll be getting Rd 5 is a bit early for a "project" that it'll be doubtful ever sees a 2nd contract. Rd 6-7 got no opinion but woulda like to see Vaughn Picked up I think maybe your overall criticism of Veach is a little harsh but I give it a C. In Veach I trust and since I'm no draft nerd WTF do I know?
  15. Chiefs expected to re-sign RB Jerick McKinnon Charles Goldman Mon, May 1, 2023 at 1:21 PM CDT The Kansas City Chiefs are set to re-sign one of their key players who remained a free agent. According to a report from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs are expected to re-sign free agent RB Jerick McKinnon. This comes shortly after GM Brett Veach provided an update on the topic during his post-draft press conference. “Obviously, we had a long-standing relationship with Jerick (McKinnon),” Veach said. “We’ve had communication, so I wouldn’t be surprised if something got done with him soon.” NFL Media’s James Palmer adds that McKinnon will be re-signing with the team on Tuesday. McKinnon is coming off of an impressive 2022 campaign with Kansas City, where he posted 803 scrimmage yards and 10 total touchdowns on offense. He also happened to be the team’s best pass-blocking back and played a key role in protecting star QB Patrick Mahomes. With the Chiefs not doing much with the running back position in the 2023 NFL draft, it makes a ton of sense to bring McKinnon back. Isiah Pacheco will be expected to take a step forward. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will hopefully be able to stay healthy and the team will also have a new addition in UDFA RB Deneric Prince, who could compete for a roster spot at the running back position.
  16. lol I thought the same thing but I hadn't got my coffee in me yet so I let it go
  17. yea well yea they do.. Fletcher Cox is 33 yo and on a 1 year contract.. it's called playing the long game
  18. Chiefs earn ‘A-‘ grade from Touchdown Wire for 2023 NFL draft class Our friend Doug Farrar over at Touchdown Wire provided grades for all 32 NFL teams. After landing a dynamo draft class a year ago, Farrar thinks that Brett Veach might have followed it up with a similarly successful draft class. He even thinks it could be a “re-run” from 2022 and gave the team an “A-” grade. Take a look at some of what he had to say down below: The first three picks for Kansas City all have the potential to become immediate impact players with the Chiefs. It also appears that the team landed some steals during Day 3, just as they did a season ago. The full impact of the draft class might not be realized until the team finds itself lifting the Lombardi Trophy once again.
