  1. all I got out of that is that we'll see Frank Clark restructured. My thinking probably between $9 & $10M since his dead cap hit is $7.6M . He's the Chiefs' version of the Jelly of the Month Club
  2. yea that's kinda old news but I agree it certainly is not a good look and maybe he had been told his time is over who knows. Maybe has goals of becoming a fashion designer?
  3. Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling recruiting former Packers teammate Allen Lazard As for Lazard’s fit in Kansas City, he could be an option should the team be unable to retain JuJu Smith-Schuster. The 6-5 and 227-pound receiver can do a lot of the same dirty work in the middle of the field that Smith-Schuster did this season to take some pressure off of Travis Kelce. He’s also an absolute bully as a blocker, which you know will catch the attention of Andy Reid. As mentioned earlier, Lazard is coming off a career year with 60 receptions for 788 yards and six touchdowns in Green Bay. Over The Cap currently projects he’ll earn a contract with a $10.8 million-per-year average, but it’s possible he could be enticed by an incentive-laden contract similar to the one that Smith-Schuster signed a season ago.
  4. I think any talk about cap #'s is folly at this time..until Veach has a chance to do his thing
  5. but the $2.7 makes him 10th highest punter.. he'll want probably close to the $3.7 and be the highest paid and in FA he very well may get close to that.
  6. I'm a big proponent in Playoff games or just games that are against a higher quality opponent YOU TAKE THE POINTS! JMO but at that time I am not sure anyone foresaw the Scrum formation on dang near every 4rth down. A stop by the Eagles IMO would of been a bigger emotional flip that the missed FG and a made FG would of more possibly releaved much of the need for the last minute heroics.
  7. the Chiefs have like 11? That seems to be the # that sticks in my foggy Sat morning head. I'd wager after it's all said n done that # gets whittled down to 6-8 by draft day. I'm not soo sure about upgrade on all 4 but 2 or 3 would be a win in my book unless you equate a win into lateral performance for cheaper.. then I'd say yea Veach'll do that
  8. anything does happen I'll grant you that but the odds of something like that are not good, that being said if anyone can find that player it's Veach. We may have it already and just don't know yet. Karlaftis rookie year and Jared's are not THAT different. The defensive Roster is pretty equal except for Jones of course and the DC was Gunther which is a similar style. Eric Hicks was on the other side which he and Clark where both 5 sack guys Jared's rookie year
  9. the hazards of picking in the 30's ya jus aint gonna find them types and I dont see Veach making another Clark type trade
  10. Over The Cap projects that McKinnon will earn an annual salary of $4 million in 2023. He earned $1.035 million in 2022 with the Chiefs, and the year prior, the team used the veteran salary benefit to sign McKinnon. A recent report from NFL Network’s James Palmer suggests that even in the twilight of his career, loyalty might come into play for McKinnon re-signing in Kansas City. Palmer said McKinnon confided in him that the Chiefs were the only team interested in his services after his time in San Francisco. “Two years ago, when he was leaving San Francisco, he thought his career was over,” Palmer said of McKinnon. “He got one phone call, and that was from Chiefs general manager Brett Veach to bring him in.”
  11. I dont know did he? Just saw a mock where a swing Tackle from Tennessee Darnell Wright is mocked to us with our first pick At 6'6" 335 he's got the size. At only $1.2M LN is too cheap to just give up on and Cap Savings are meh
  12. The Chiefs have been blessed with above average punters. I'm not real sure about when everything needs to be decided or how signing him to make him the highest paid would really affect the overall cap situation. JMO but I think even being the highest paid he's still one of the most value added players on the team. He made $895K this past year..just for reference but if $2.7M only makes him the 10th highest paid punter...ouch $3.7 yearly makes him highest but for reference https://overthecap.com/position/punter
  13. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2023/2/20/23603972/chiefs-likely-to-make-tommy-townsend-the-leagues-highest-paid-punter-in-2023?fbclid=IwAR11xOqRa-scfiLt7F_waPjkxo2ZJNJr6b0DGElkAnTE0q5DXu3Sp3Doiks KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FREE AGENCY Seven members of the Kansas City Chiefs had the privilege of being named to the 2023 Pro Bowl Games — and subsequently bypassing the opportunity as the team prepared to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. One of those players may be in line for a controversial offseason, with an expiring contract creating an opportunity to reset the market for his position. While many Chiefs fans will worry about the above being true for tackle Orlando Brown Jr., this piece will look at punter Tommy Townsend’s upcoming restricted free agency. Townsend signed with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent out of Florida in 2020. That season, he took over for Dustin Colquitt — who had held the job for 15 seasons. In addition to Pro Bowl honors, Townsend was named first-team All-Pro this season and AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September. In 2022, the third-year pro’s 45.6 net-yards-per-punt led the league. With three accrued seasons, Townsend can now become a restricted free agent. The Chiefs can choose from three levels to offer him a contract for next season. If Townsend signs a contract with a different team, the Chiefs would be able to match it and retain his services. Assuming Kansas City offered him a right-of-first-refusal tender, the Chiefs would receive no compensation because Townsend was not drafted. For various reasons, however, tendering Townsend offers Kansas City minimal advantage in keeping him. Restricted free agency is awkward for a punter because even the lowest tender amount approaches the top salaries at the position. Over the Cap estimates the lowest restricted free agent tender this offseason to be $2,627,000. Per Spotrac, that number would already make Townsend the league’s 10th-highest-paid punter next season.
  14. I was reading some thoughts from Texan fans and they disagree with you..but what do fans know?
  15. I agree with you in the respect that Wyle in many of our eyes is not worth what some may say he might get. We all hope Veach see's the same thing. In Regards to Naing you are right I am not a fan and think his lack "love of the game" is detrimental to his performance. That being said I have to wonder how many play that dont love the game that last through training camp. It's not as if he has Bo Jackson type Athleticism and can succeed at 50%. I guess time will tell.
  16. so are you our insider all things Allen now because of your 3rd person "contact"? I read what you had to say back then and altho interesting I wont be using it as the basis of my Player Profile. I'm not sold that he's a whiney lil bitch like Ryan Leaf which is the impression it seems you want us to believe.
  17. he'll be a $1.2M Cap hit and has played 19 games since being drafted 3 years ago. He's probably worth keeping around 1 more year and then being let go at only a $200K cap hit if he fails again to be what was hoped. IF he gets let go this year post June 1 the Chiefs are on the Hook for $780K https://overthecap.com/player/lucas-niang/8836
  18. https://currently.att.yahoo.com/sports/tyreek-hill-weighs-lesean-mccoy-185141071.html Tyreek Hill weighs in on LeSean McCoy’s beef with former Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy Former Kansas City Chiefs players are coming out of the woodwork to weigh in on LeSean McCoy’s recent comments about Eric Bieniemy. McCoy believes that Bieniemy, now assistant head coach and offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders, will fail in his new role. Players like Tyrann Mathieu, Jamaal Charles, Ron Parker and now Tyreek Hill have taken exception to McCoy’s comments about the former Chiefs RB coach and offensive coordinator. Hill played with McCoy in Kansas City in 2019 and seems to suggest this vendetta is personal in nature. “Shady mad (Eric Bieniemy) told him (to) tuck that ball,” Hill tweeted with a crying emoji. McCoy always held the ball rather loosely during the course of his NFL career. He fumbled the ball three times during the 2019 NFL season, including fumbles in losses to the Colts in Week 5 and the Packers in Week 8. One of McCoy’s issues seemed to be with Bieniemy “cussing out” players and veterans at that. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he got an earful from Bieniemy after those fumbles and is harboring some sort of resentment because of it as Hill suggests. Andy Reid even said as much when McCoy first started making comments about Bieniemy publicly. “I think, sometimes, it’s hard on a veteran player,” Reid said. “Maybe their performance level isn’t what it used to be. It’s hard to take sometimes. But (Eric Bieniemy) has got to push it and try to maximize what you’ve got. That’s one of his strengths. He’s no different than he is when he’s with you guys. He’s going to come in and shoot you straight. Sometimes you want to hear it, sometimes you don’t.”
  19. you'd hope that maybe Andy sensing EB's shortcoming might show him the ropes to get him a job on down the road all the while helping the team
  20. it's highly possible and maybe during the interviews it came out that he just has no passing game IQ
