An equipment container that contained some of the Chiefs' shoulder pads, helmets and footballs was not unloaded Saturday and instead accidentally made its way to Newark, New Jersey, where it now is being rushed back to Boston in time for Sunday's 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff between Kansas City and the New England Patriots, per league sources.
It held the bags of roughly 35 players, according to a source.
Kansas City is responsible, not the Patriots or the league. The Chiefs did not take the equipment off the plane.
"I never heard that before," said one source.
The detoured equipment is expected to arrive between 3 and 3:30 p.m. ET, in time for Sunday's kickoff. It the Chiefs didn't have the equipment by the time the game started they would have to forfeit, per a source.
How much it impacts certain players who could be missing helmets or shoulder pads in warm-ups is uncertain. But the Chiefs now are doing what they can to rectify the situation.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be broadcast on a new radio station in 2020: 106.5 The Wolf (WDAF-FM), moving on from 101.1 The Fox, which had Chiefs games since 1990.
The Chiefs and Entercom announced the move in an official press release.
Also in the agreement — 610 Sports Radio will become the official broadcast partner of the Chiefs, meaning “exclusive rights to various categories of Chiefs programming, including live radio broadcast rights to the Chiefs weekly in-season press conference with the club’s head coach and a weekly one-on-one interview with the starting quarterback.”
610 Sports will also broadcast the Chiefs Kingdom Radio Show on Monday nights from 6 to 7 p.m. Arrowhead Time, which is hosted by Mitch Holthus.

RB Darrel Williams (hamstring) was moved to injured reserve Thursday morning, so he is off the injury report.
CB Mo Claiborne (shoulder), CB Rashad Fenton (hamstring) and RB Damien Williams (rib) have all been ruled out for the game.
DE Frank Clark (illness) and S Jordan Lucas (illness) are officially questionable for the game. Both players missed practice on Friday due to illness for the Chiefs — not due to injury. The Chiefs
confirmed that Clark will travel to New England.
WR Julian Edelman (shoulder) and CB Jason McCourty (groin) are officially questionable.
QB Tom Brady (toe/right elbow) will play Sunday. Was there ever really a doubt?

wonder how long it will take for some of those same fans to fuck up the new stadium in vegas...

yeah, like Maclin a few years ago i really wanted watkins to succeed but he spends to much time on injury reports, pretty sure the chiefs will move on from him this offseason

The ineptness of this teams defense has allowed the raiders to get back into the AFC West race. We need to take care of Business starting tomorrow night against the chargers, we have looked like crap in every national TV game this year and we need to man up and show that we have some Cajones on defense and no stupid ass mistakes on special teams
Fish, Clark expected to play so we should be pretty much at full strength....
