Awesome. Take that G in the 1st.
-
I don't think anyone expected the WRs would go 11,12, and 13. That threw a monkey wrench in everyone's plans... looking for offense anyway
-
-
That doesn't help us... we already let the best WR in the league go because $$
-
Hope you gots a plan Veach!
-
This already feels like a weird ass draft.
-
I wanted Olave. Knew we wouldn't get him... but he's a stud.
-
Williams even wore his Chiefs Red suit. Poor guy.
-
In spite of all that... when one looks at the plethora of amazing (and highly successful) QBs in that draft, it's mighty hard not to be thoroughly disgusted with that pick.
-
Lots of truth to this. It's a bidness. The seats are full = the fans are happy.
The Carl/Marty era always seemed to be about defense... they thought they could pick up an affordable FA under center to get them to the promised land... while they spent their money keeping elway, hostettler, krieg, humphries at bay... it almost worked... when they finally landed an adequate FA QB (who happened to be a HOFer) and damned near pulled it off.
Those were fun days, and the seats were full. But today is more fun.
EDIT I'll never forgive them for letting Gannon go and keeping grbac... fucking dumbasses.
-
Blackledge was the biggest bust in Chiefs history. That pick kept us down for more than a decade.
-
-
Not zimbabwean... but I hear he's a prince.
-
Because the pickens are thin?
-
the wife says I take advantage of that particular freedom early and often
-
Cue xen's retort in 3...2...1...
-
In my experience, the fresh ones could cause a mega spinout.
-
Oh, I agree on the 'get lucky' part. Veach could go my route and draft a highly coveted edge guy... and we could end up with another Tyson Jackson. Same with a coveted WR.
Might as well speculate on what kind of meat is in that chinese takeout the wife brought home last night.
I'm still hoping Cornell Powell can make some noise this year. Really thought he was a great choice when we picked him up last year.
-
Meh... like I said... if we lose that coin toss... these draft threads are singing a different tune.
-
Patrick has the ability to make good WRs great.
Patrick can't do anything when the other team is racking up 1st downs at will.
Had we lost the coin flip vs Buff, this wouldn't even be a debate.
-
I'm used to dodging land mines in my back yard... we got dogs
-
Good player. So was Tyreek.
Both too expensive.
Start from scratch... bring up some youth.
-
I can understand that. Football hadn't yet been invented when you went to college. 😉
-
who's your college team? IIRC it's the tigers... how many natties do they have, again?
-
It was more of a rhetorical question... but I think you understood my point. There's a reason JW couldn't crack the 1st team (Wilson and Olave) and a reason he was All American at Bama. Brian Hartline knows the exact reason, and the coaches aren't going to elaborate.
Hell, Smith-Njigba couldn't crack the lineup... he's gonna be the best in the NCAA this year. He's already broken more team records than any other receiver including Chris Carter and a pretty respectable list of others.
That said... weird shit happens... During OSU's natty year they had an unknown receiver named Mike Thomas who was barely used in that offense. The coaches loved them a running QB... which cuts down on pass attempts. What does MT do? Goes into the League and proceeds to wreak havoc. I was kinda pissed about that... but I'm just a dude on a couch.
