  1. It was more of a rhetorical question... but I think you understood my point. There's a reason JW couldn't crack the 1st team (Wilson and Olave) and a reason he was All American at Bama. Brian Hartline knows the exact reason, and the coaches aren't going to elaborate. Hell, Smith-Njigba couldn't crack the lineup... he's gonna be the best in the NCAA this year. He's already broken more team records than any other receiver including Chris Carter and a pretty respectable list of others. That said... weird shit happens... During OSU's natty year they had an unknown receiver named Mike Thomas who was barely used in that offense. The coaches loved them a running QB... which cuts down on pass attempts. What does MT do? Goes into the League and proceeds to wreak havoc. I was kinda pissed about that... but I'm just a dude on a couch.
  2. I been barkin' up the 'throw the damned ball to the TE' tree for years My guess is JW was close... just not good enough to get the start. Hartline is the best WR coach in CFB... no way he overlooked a guy like Jameson. Bama was soft at WR last year.... which is why he was able to step right in and become an All-American. Can you name the other starting WR at Bama without googling? Bet you can't. Both starters at OSU are household names for a reason. Gotta keep them both happy, which means neither of them reached full potential, like JW at Bama. Burrow couldn't get the start over Fields, because their offense was geared around a mobile QB. Burrow goes to LSU... in need of a QB... and proceeds to win the HT and a natty. Then becomes a pretty fucking good QB in the League. Could he have done that for OSU? Doubtful. LSU was just better that year... especially on defense.
  3. That's the deal... any OSU TE will be a hell of a workhorse on the line... because that's generally how their offense rolls. That said... it's changing. Ruckert is a stud. Check out his game last year vs Clemson... he dominated. He can catch. Just needs reps.
  4. Hill has unprecedented speed and awesome hands. He'll do well wherever he plays. That said, Patrick makes receivers. I agree Hardman will have a better year... but he's no Hill. Not yet anyway.
  5. I don't think anyone is saying WR isn't a position of need. We have several positions of dire need, and I think most would agree defense is equally if not more important. If the rumor about a #1, 2 and 3 pick to bump up to #11 is true... it seems like a lot to give up. To me anyways. But I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn Express so what do I know
  6. I thought they did too. That doesn't justify us overpaying for a potential replacement, either. Just seems like a lot of draft capital being spent to get a 1st rd WR.. if the rumor is true. Defense is more important at this stage... IMO
  7. I think a 1st, 2nd and 3rd is too much for a WR but that's just me. In Veach we trust.
  8. Damn that's a lot. Big gamble if they're hoping he'll replace Hill.
  9. These crackers are making me thirsty!!!
  10. If they are taking a serious look at Watson, that tells me they're looking at beefing up the defense with existing draft picks.
  11. If you need defense, like the Chiefs, Donald. If you need offense, Roaf.
  12. That ain't no shit. We're batting about .400 on first round DL selections since 2000. And that's with much higher picks than #29.
  13. Not accurate. Frankenstein was a monster full time. More like... Dr Clarkell and Mr Hyde.
  14. That dude broke his pinky during a game and just had them cut it off. Time's a wastin' coach!
  15. He definitely dropped off last year... and I've seen him avoid hits throughout his stint at KC. I get why... just not sure we want that in a safety. Safeties are battering rams. It's an attitude. They're not cornerbacks.
  16. Holy shit who's that young dude POOT's standing next to?
