  1. It wasn't just the offsides. Didn't the Pats win the coin toss similar to what happened to Buffalo at Arrowhead a few years later? Didn't even get to touch the ball.
  2. Nobody will consider that a detraction except NE fans. It wasn't Brady vs Mahomes... it was NE vs KC and the Chiefs were not the better team. Mahomes played his ass off and his receivers couldn't hold on to the ball. Hell I'd go as far as to say his efforts in that game were GOAT even in a losing effort. Most pundits are already hinting Mahomes is the better talent. All he needs to do is win 4 more to tie Brady in Ws, and the rest will take care of itself... # of MVPs, SBMVPs, post season stats, reg season stats, etc. He'll be undisputed by then, but we gotta win 4 more in the next 12 years. Very tall order... TB12 ain't the current GOAT for nothing.
  3. I don't disagree with any of that... but most will say the number of championships is the biggest factor. Call me selfish, but I want Patrick to leave no doubt. And I think he can, long as we get a few more rings right away within 2-3 years. With our defense vastly improving, and Pat maturing into a 'take what the defense gives' type of leader, I don't think it's out of the question. If he could get 2 more rings in the next 4 years, he'll be 2/3rds there at 30 yrs old. Then it's a matter of staying healthy.
  4. TB12 has that small edge only because Patrick has had the bye for a ton of seasons. I'll take the byes... TB12 can have the extra .3.
  5. 5 more ties MVPat with TB12 so he can legit be the GOAT.
  6. 5 more before Patrick retires. It's all I ask. He won 2 in 5 years, at this pace he could do it before he's 40.
  7. Which is wild, but it's probably because everyone becomes one-dimensional when they are forced to pass.
  8. Nick Wright said the only team the Chiefs will be chasing in 2023 is the '72 Dolphins.
  9. That's a mighty tall order brother. Ain't nobody rooting harder for it than me. Edit: Hard to believe he surpassed Marino's 17 year career in just 5. PS fuck tom brady
  10. You are correct... ask Tennessee how pounding the rock worked out for them in the 2019 AFCCG.
  11. The whole point of my post... they'll be better this year. PS not that we NEED to have HFA to advance in the playoffs. It's just been nice having that bye.
  12. Cowherd is a Chiefs guy... he loves Mahomes.
  13. You're right about the seasons rarely playing out as predicted... last year the pundits agreed we had a brutal schedule, until the bottom 2 teams in the AFCW took a shit. I don't think that happens two years in a row. Not worried about a lower seeding... regardless we still gotta beat the best to move on in the playoffs. It's just nice to have that bye week. We've needed it every one of these last 3 years... just like we needed the week off before the last SB. Saved our ass. Would be great to continue the streak but sooner or later we're going to get beat by a conference team... putting the #1 seed at risk. Like I said, that LAC game at the end of the season could be the division championship game. If LA is healthy, it's going to be a tough venue. Buffalo will have a rough road in their own conference, cincy... not so much. I'd rather not face either in the playoffs outside Arrowhead. Jax seems to have things lined up nice... weak conference, favorable schedule.
  14. Sounds like a lot but that's a factor of the AFC west though. The Chiefs schedule picks up 60 losses just in division. The reason our division has so many losses is because the Chiefs are in it and accounted for 12 of those losses. I mean, there ain't but one 'cupcake' on the schedule really... and that's the Bears. Maybe NE... maybe GB. Even though the afc west contributes the most losses to our schedule, I wouldn't call any of those teams cupcakes... not even LV. This ain't the afc south. More than half our schedule is playoff-caliber teams. The jets and jags, likely detroit, LAC twice, Philly, Vikes, Buffalo, Cincy... that's a solid lineup considering the importance of head-to-head. Jax plays in the absolute worst division, and their playoff-caliber opponents seem to align favorably with their schedule. I'm not seeing anyone who has it tougher as far as # of playoff caliber teams.
  15. Meh. Florio isn’t the only pundit who ever brought up that topic. Long as you didn’t click his link, he didn’t win.
  16. Holy shit they hammered us. Expected, but damn. Half our schedule is playoff teams... not counting Detroit and NYJ who will likely be playoff teams this year. Thank goodness half of those are at Arrowhead. As I look at the AFC contenders' schedules, seems like Jax has the biggest advantage of all. I could honestly see them taking the #1 seed, the way they have their toughest games arranged. I mean, they get the Chiefs at home early... two of their away games (including buffalo) are in England which neutralizes their opponents' HFA, and they get the niners, their toughest NFC challenge, at home after the bye. The question will be can they win that first divisional round game to force the game out of KC. It's like the league is getting tired of going to KC for the AFCCG...
  17. Anyone paying attention knows other QBs will eventually catch up and then surpass a QB on an older contract. Guaranteed Patrick and Veach understood this 3 years ago... which is an eternity in NFL contract land. They will always be able to restructure and that works both ways... it gives Patrick the ability to make more as the cap increases, and it gives Veach the ability to navigate the cap for the rest of the team. I'm with Reese on this... ain't no way in hell Patrick is unhappy with a half-billion dollar contract, with endorsements that could push him to 3/4 billion. It's a great situation and florio has his head up his ass.
  18. Nothing better than more intriguing shit... Seems like there are lots of people in this thread concerned Patrick isn't happy. Suggesting cap percentage based contracts etc... just expanding on what I'm seeing
  19. Could we get him back for the 7 mil on the cap hit, plus a little extra so he can save face? Like, if we're already having the 7 mil counted against our cap, why not offer him a little more now? Got no idea how all that works.
  20. Everyone seems to be assuming Patrick is unhappy with his current contract. Who knows. I'll leave it up to Clark, Veach & Co to be communicating with him. When I think of the relationship between the front office and Patrick, 'adversarial' is not an adjective that comes to mind. But then there's guys like LJ8, Rodgers, and Carr... I just don't see Patrick getting into a squabble over what others are making. When he signed the contract, he was the highest paid QB in history... by a significant amount.
