  1. When you are a perennial conference champ, it's very difficult to hit on DL draft picks. There never seems to be an abundance of them, and even the higher-ranked are sketchy... for every Jones, there is a Speaks, Poe, Jackson, Magee, etc
  2. Easy to talk smack when you're too afraid/embarrassed to admit who your team is. 😘
  3. yeah we need those, but not as pressing as OT and DE. I think we can pick up an affordable WR in FA, and a few in the late rounds.
  4. Mahomes response to Twitter blue checks costing 8 bucks:
  5. What is important to us fans might not be as important to Veach/Reid. If they truly value (whomever it is) in the 1st round, they'll come up with the capital. Even if it takes a few from this year and one from next year. What matters is how badly they want someone. I mean, if OTs start sliding for whatever reason, they may not need to trade up. This is going to be the most exciting draft I can remember, not just because it's in KC but because we have some capital in our pocket, and we have only 2 major needs... OT and DE. And we have a front office that doesn't have their head up their ass.
  6. Sorry Jet, you're going to have to subscribe to my Mock Draft website to find out.
  7. Too bad we don't play this year. The smack would have been epic.
  8. Not so sure about that. This is a good draft for OTs and a lot of teams with earlier picks have different needs. The mocks I've seen (maybe like a dozen) only have Johnson and (Harrison/Brod Jones, depending on the mock) gone by rd 17. If we could bump 10 - 15 slots we have a shot at Harrison (or Jones), or Skoronski, or Wright. I like those odds, and all of them have the potential to start at LT. I've seen several mocks saying we stay put and roll the dice on Dawand Jones at 31... but I seriously doubt this as they would have brought him in for a 30 visit.
  9. I've never understood the attention on Brittany and Jackson. I mean yeah Jackson is a bit of a dick but who cares... lots of people have asshole brothers. I mean look at Chef. I'd sure hate to see Brittany's legit concerns for what's in the best interest of her husband/family interfere with your fandom.
  10. Yeah he does... but so did Gronk and TG. I'm just being selfish though. I want him to be undisputed GOAT... but he's not there yet.
  11. I don't get all the clamor for a TE this year. Grey and Bell are doing good work, and we have far more pressing needs. If one falls to us in the 6th or 7th then yeah. Gronk retired after his 11th season, TG after his 17th pretty much a month before his 38th birthday. Kelce is 33 now and will be 34 come 2023 season. Kelce likely wants to chase GOAT status. He's got a way to go stat-wise. He needs 5000 more yards to surpass TG, which means he'll need 4 more productive years (totally possible if he stays healthy) He'd be 38 like TG, but with 2 fewer seasons under his belt. He'll also need 37 more TDs to catch Gates... he's averaging slightly over 10 per season last 3 years... which means he'd need at least 4 more seasons at current level of production. IMO yardage and TDs are the most important in determining GOAT status and I think he'll want that before retiring... at least I HOPE so. MAN I HOPE SO. Just my .03.
  12. Is he projected late 2nd? That's what's confusing... our 2nd round pick is really an early 3rd.
  13. He's played a significant amount of LT and did very well from what I understand.
  14. You know Bezos has something up his sleeve. I bought Prime so I could watch the Chiefs. Clearly that's what it is about.
  15. Agree 100% on the OT... I think they'll go OT, DE and WR. There are still opportunities to pick up a good WR in FA on a prove it deal... but DEs and OTs aren't available... which is why I hope they go for an OTOTF early on, then DE. Hell even Mahomes had to 'cheat' a little on the playbook while going through his pre-draft interviews. I could only imagine how hard it is for some of the WRs out there. I would never discount Andy/Veach's ability to pull a WR diamond out of the rough in later rounds though. They know what they're shopping for... they've perfected the art of kicking the tires in the NFL draft. This draft will be super exciting.
  16. This is my hope too, though I wouldn't mind seeing them trading up in rd 2 for a DE. I'm no expert but it seems like we could pick up a very serviceable WR in rds 3-7 that would work in our system. Mahomes makes WRs better... they don't need to dominate... they just need the tools ie good speed, good hands, and the ability to learn the system quickly. OTs and DEs are much harder to find imo. Yeah, I know... Cornel Powell disproves my theory on WRs... but I think there's something going on with him that's holding him back. No way Trevor L was able to make him a great WR while Patrick can't. He's struggling with the playbook... has to be it.
  17. Zay Flowers would be an interesting selection... second rounder... not sure if he'd be there for us at 63 though. Moving up in the second isn't likely as hard as moving up in the first. Zay Flowers Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com
