  1. Maybe... I think he’s underrated which works in our favor. Most mocks I’ve seen only have 3 OTs taken in the first... but all it takes is some early team going with BPA instead of filling their obvious immediate needs to wreck the order. Then everything changes. My guess is veach will trade up... but will have several offers on the table with several teams, in case the guys they want drop further than expected. Gonna be a hoot that’s for sure.
  2. Yep. He's got hands... he can block... and he's learning the system under the best TE in history.
  3. This is the year to do it. But we'll need to move up to the first half of round 1. The big question is, what will be the cost. At this point, I'd be willing to trade this year's #1 and next year's #1. Maybe throw in CEH? This is where Veach earns his money. There are 4 potential starting LTs and with this year's focus on QBs and DEs, there one will be available in the middle of rd 1, maybe even a bit later. Skoronski Johnson Jones Harrison Knowing the Chiefs front office loves them some Sooners, I think Harrison could be their target. He's likely the most underrated OT in the class, but he's ready to start at this level, as are any of the above.
  4. It is for now, but wait until they gotta start paying the rooks.
  5. If we could bring back those 3 for cheap... I might stop saying Clark sucks. Might.
  6. And left chiefs fans holding their poonas after the game.
  7. This move is about winning the SB next year. Veach is looking at the future AND the present.
  8. He'll also add talent to our STs... unless he steals a starting position. Either way it's a plus.
  9. Our defense is much improved since then. Another thing about that game... Butker missed a FG and a PAT... had he made them both, we could have won without overtime. I'm still not too sure about Butker... the dude can totally stink... but then turn around and kick a 62 yarder. Oddly (or fortuitously) he seems to do his best work with everything on the line... ie that Buff game, Cincy this year, and the 2023 SB. This probably deserves its own thread....
  10. Ya gotta feel bad for Allen tho... that poor dude played one of the best games of his career... only to get beat by a superstar who quietly dominated the "best defense in the NFL" I remember Romo & the other guy fawning over Allen the whole game... When the smoke cleared: Allen 80.8 rating (with Sorensen, Ward and Niemann) Mahomes 127.6 rating (vs best defense in NFL) NOT. EVEN. CLOSE.
  11. Veach credit is deserved. As for WHO they draft... it ain't just Veach evaluating talent... it's Andy and Spags too... looking for guys to fit their system. Where Veach is awesome is how he maintains cap space by utilizing rookie contracts, re-working veteran contracts, evaluating FAs and letting go existing FAs who put too high a burden on the cap budget. "The man is a surgeon."
  12. xen is preparing for that too. He's already put his Village People collection up on Ebay.
  13. It's funny because Williams was a RT who they moved over to LT... Cincy thinks they're bringing in a natural LT in OBJ so it's safe to put Williams back to the right... Source: Jonah Williams seeks Bengals exit after Brown deal 10:36 AM MT Ben BabyESPN Staff Writer Facebook Twitter Facebook Messenger Pinterest Email print CINCINNATI -- The longest-tenured member of the Bengals' offensive line is seeking a trade. Offensive tackle Jonah Williams has expressed his desire to be traded, a source confirmed to ESPN on Friday. The request comes after four-time Pro Bowl tackle Orlando Brown Jr. agreed to terms with the Bengals earlier in the week. Williams, the Bengals' first-round selection in 2019, has been their primary starter since he arrived. But his position as the team's anchor on the left side of the line appeared to be supplanted after Cincinnati landed Brown on a four-year, $64 million deal that included a $31 million signing bonus. In a recent interview with the Bengals radio team, offensive line coach Frank Pollack said that's where Brown will play in Cincinnati. EDITOR'S PICKS Bengals sign star OT Brown for 4 years, $64M 1dBen Baby "He's going to be our left tackle," Pollack said. The Cincinnati assistant also referenced competition at right tackle, where Williams is currently slotted to play. La'el Collins, last year's right tackle, suffered a torn ACL in the Bengals' Week 16 win over the New England Patriots last season. Cincinnati also signed Cody Ford, a former second-round pick, on a one-year deal. Williams' trade request, which was first reported by NFL Network, came less than 36 hours after Brown committed to the Bengals and less than a day after Ford's signing was announced. After missing his entire first season with a torn labrum, Williams has started 42 games over the past three seasons. He started every regular-season game in 2022 despite suffering a dislocated right kneecap in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens. He suffered the same injury in his left knee during Cincinnati's wild-card win over Baltimore, which forced him to miss the next two postseason games. Williams has been the Bengals' best perimeter pass blocker in each of the past three seasons. As a tackle, he has led the Bengals in pass block win rate, an ESPN metric powered by NFL Next Gen Stats. He ranked 50th in that category in 2021 but dropped to 55th last season. Brown ranked 18th in pass block win rate as a left tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs. Williams is set to play on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal, which is worth $12.6 million. That salary ranks 63rd among offensive tackles, according to Roster Management System. At the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin deferred questions about moving Williams to right tackle to the coaching staff. Tobin had praise for how Williams played in 2022. "We picked up the option," Tobin said Feb. 28. "He's gonna be with us. We think he's a very good offensive lineman, very good left tackle. When you play tackle in this league, you're never gonna be perfect."
  14. The thing I remember most about that game was the camera panning back and forth from the Bills' sideline to the Bills' booth when they went up 3 with just under two minutes left. High fives all around... "WE GOT THIS." Then the camera went to the same booth after Hill's TD put KC up by 4 with 1:02 left: "Oh shit." Then same camera showing Bills' booth and sideline celebrating going up 3 with :13 left... "BALLGAME." Except... NOT. Mahomes to Hill for 19... Time Out. Bills' booth: "OK we still got this." Mahomes to Kelce for 31... TO with :03 remaining.. Bills' booth: "OK it's a long FG and Butker missed a lot today." Butker TIE GAME at 0:00 going to OT... Bills' booth: "OH SHIT" KC wins toss... Allen on sideline: "OH SHIT" Mahomes to Kelce 10 yds... Allen "OH SHIT" Mahomes to McKinnon 16 yds... Allen "OH SHIT I CAN'T WATCH THIS." Mahomes to Hardman 26 yds... Allen "We might not get the ball back!!" Mahomes to Kelce TD... Bills' booth, Bills' bench, every Chiefs fan in the world: WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK JUST HAPPENED?!?"
  15. Good news for depth... apologies if posted elsewhere.
  16. We'll be seeing a comfortable Brown in the playoffs, with a full belly, lining up against CJ and/or CO. I'm here for this. Or maybe they won't make the playoffs.
