  1. Interesting Tranquil did not show up on this list from the above Bleacher Report back in November....that said, it is a good starting point for planning. Sneed, Jones, Tranquil (if he is actually on a One Year deal) Danna,Townsend, Winchester, Allegretti, Nnadi, Donovan Smith make my list for starters...In Veach I trust .
  2. Chiefs 2024 Free Agents: DT Chris Jones, CB L’Jarius Sneed, and RB Jerick McKinnon Among Top Options Who Are the Kansas City Chiefs’ Upcoming Free Agents? DT Chris Jones Chris Jones will be Kansas City’s most high-profile free agent next offseason. The Chiefs will have the option to franchise tag the 29-year-old, but because it would be the second tag of Jones’ career, he’d be entitled to a 20% raise. A resulting $32 million cap figure will likely dissuade KC from deploying the franchise tender. Jones is still playing at an elite level and ranks fourth among interior defenders with 30 pressures. The Chiefs didn’t want to give Jones a contract that approached Aaron Donald’s $31.67 million average annual value, but he should be able to find a deal in that neighborhood on the open market. CB L’Jarius Sneed The Chiefs have seemingly already prepared for the eventual loss of cornerback L’Jarius Sneed. General manager Brett Veach added CBs Trent McDuffie (first round), Joshua Williams (fourth round), and Jaylen Watson (seventh round) in the 2022 NFL Draft, and all three have seen extensive playing time. Although Sneed has played almost exclusively on the boundary this season, he’d spent more of his time in the slot heading into 2023. At 6’1″, 192 pounds, he’s a physical presence on the inside who offers value as a blitzer and run defender. Versatility is the name of the game in the secondary. If Sneed can attract interest from a few teams in 2024, he could surpass the three-year, $40.5 million contract ex-Chiefs corner Charvarius Ward landed from the San Francisco 49ers in 2022. OT Donovan Smith Andy Reid’s squad originally intended for free agent addition Jawaan Taylor to play left tackle after spending his Jacksonville Jaguars stint on the right side. But Kansas City jumped at the chance to add Donovan Smith on a one-year deal with a base value of just $3 million. Smith was the NFL’s second-most penalized offensive lineman in 2022 despite missing four games due to injury. He’s cut back on that problem so far this season, with just three holding penalties on his 2023 track record. Only 30 years old, Smith could make sense as a Chiefs extension candidate, especially if the club doesn’t want to try Taylor on Patrick Mahomes’ blindside. RBs Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire Jerick McKinnon hasn’t been nearly the contributor he was for the Chiefs last season. Through eight games, he’s managed just 15 receptions and 11 rushing attempts. Entering what will be his age-32 campaign in 2024, McKinnon could struggle to find a landing spot. McKinnon’s absence from KC’s offense has not led to more touches for Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The former first-round pick has played only 81 snaps this year. While it’s fun to imagine CEH breaking out as a pass-catching weapon in another offense, there aren’t many better situations than playing alongside Mahomes in a Reid-coordinated offense. EDGE Mike Danna Mike Danna might not be a household name, but he’s been a valuable member of the Chiefs’ pass-rush plan since joining the team as a fifth-round pick in 2020. Having already played 389 defensive snaps this year, Danna is on pace to set a new career high. But Danna isn’t just available — he’s effective. He managed a 10.1% pressure rate last season, and while he’s slipped below 7% this season, Danna already has 5.5 sacks. Danna will be entering his age-26 season in 2024. A solid run defender who can win one-on-one in pass-rushing situations, Danna is the type of underrated player who often scores a surprisingly lofty contract in free agency. Other Chiefs 2024 Free Agents QB Blaine Gabbert WR Mecole Hardman WR Richie James TE Blake Bell TE Jordy Fortson (restricted free agent) OT Prince Tega Wanogho G Nick Allegretti DT Derrick Nnadi DT Tershawn Wharton DT Matt Dickerson LB Darius Harris S Mike Edwards P Tommy Townsend LS James Winchester
  3. Must stop McCaffrey....He is their heart. Mahomes can be a big help if he takes the O down for 3 or 4 TD's in the 1st half.. w
  4. Ideally Diehard is right.....Once in the postseason, you are not a rookie any more. Our DB's stepped up last year... I have to also admit, I am intrigued by bringing in Frank Clark... w
  5. Thanks OT....probably wishful thinking on my part.... He is a priority to resign but we have plenty of "priorities"... w
  6. I think Tranquil signed a two year deal.... Free Agency and the like will develop in a couple of weeks. One guy that we better find a way to keep is Sneed..... w
  7. My 2024 thoughts were that we would win 12-13 games and we did not. I also thought the Defense would improve, but no nearly as much as they have. Therefore, I was down on the Chiefs after some of the tough (silly losses) but not on this board....my wife had to live with my frustrations. Frankly, I am disappointed in the Offense and the Coaching this year on three levels: 1. Poor discipline by the OLIne (Stupid Penalties) and Kadarius Toney.... 2. Hot Tub Hardman.... 3. Poor Execution by the WR's and Blake Bell....those drops and deflected passes that turned into Pick 6's cost us 2-3 wins. That said, I love the development of Chenal, Rice, Karlaftis, the success free agents like Tranquil and Omenyhu as well as Mike Edwards.... I love the great play and consistency of Justin Reid, Butker, Townsend, Mahomes, Kelce, Pacheco, Sneed, McDuffie, Bolton, Jones, Humphrey, Thuney, & Trey Smith. Frankly, this is a great organization and as fans we are "in the middle" of something great.....enjoy the ride with #15 driving the train. w
  8. Only proved he was as big a dumb ass as many here suggested..... He will not be back in KC and he will not suit up for the SB...total dumbassery. w
  9. Aligned with OT...Raiders will be pretty good next year. Chargers and Broncos have major issues that will take time to correct. I am not sold on Jim Harbough as an NFL coach...time will tell.
  10. The suffering of the Old Timers should be apparent in just that one statistic... Mahomes and Reid are the thing of dreams for many of us. w
  11. No Turnovers No stupid penalties Catch the Ball
  12. He loves to compete and if he can stay reasonably healthy he will keep playing for 2-3 more years. Taylor Swift is not "retiring" so Kelce would be a "roadie" or just stay at home alone? Travis is pretty smart, he should should stick with his passion as long as he can. Once he retires, it is over.
  13. amen....Nothing wrong with accountability
  14. Harrison Butker is the greatest FG Kicker in Chiefs History......Dude is already in the Ring of Honor.
  15. If KC stops with the Stupid Penalties, Minimizes Turnovers, Catch the Ball & #15 is Upright......they can beat anyone also ....Wanago's playing "OK" and he certainly provides an alternative in 2024..... MVS ....man o man.....To quote the Great One "He has got to go!"
  16. I think the refs spent too much time at Chiefs Training Camp this year......Both the Chiefs and Refs have performed quite badly.
  17. I knew it was bad but that is really horrible.....You would think that a first ballot HOF coach would be knee deep in some asses...Pretty much sums up the season right there......
  18. I think they need to "get hungry again"....the run this team has had the past 5 years is EPIC....
  19. Love the Chiefs and we still have the best QB in football. Here is hoping that the Coaching Staff and a few key players step up.
  20. The Bad: The Offense is totally undisciplined (Nagy owns this) Tackles are average at best. WR corps is below average at best McKinnon is hurt because of overuse because Pacheco is hurt and Clyde is far below average Bell is a Horrible Receiver, anything close to a 50:50 ball is a pick 6 going the other way. The Good: All things defense: Sneed is a MUST Keep. Jones will cost to much considering "the Bad" above. All else can be worked out. This is a critical Off-season in KC. w
  21. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All! This is the "Go To" place for camaraderie and tolerating select Bronco and Ravens fans. God Bless all of you and your families in 2024 (That was for Xen) w
