  1. If you haven’t seen the video of his draft selection phone call, I would highly recommend it. The reaction is priceless. I am technologically challenged or else I would attach it. Anyone want to post it?
  2. I also heard he lead the nation in broken tackles last year. I think the Steve Smith comparison is valid, at least from a skill set standpoint. If he resembles Smith at all he will bring a whole different aspect to the Chiefs offense.
  3. I think this will officially end the HB return to KC stories.
  4. Based on highlights I’ve seen, the kid has plenty of closing speed. Already appears to be quicker than any DE on the roster. Now just need another DE who can apply instant pressure who can be added to the mix.
  5. Karlaftis reminds me a little of Maxx Crosby, and not just be cause he's a white guy... He has similar suddenness and hand skills. Not sure he's as quick or as polished but if he's half the player that Crosby is, I'll be very happy with this pick.
  6. One negative I could say about Hill is that he never really broke tackles. Hill wasn’t a big guy but was put together. For being an ex-running back, he seemed to avoid contact and run out of bounds a lot. Having said that, he was good at making catches in traffic. One advantage of having bigger WRs is the YAC being caused by breaking a tackle vs. outrunning everyone. That’s why speed AND size is what every coach wants.
  7. After disappointing endings to the last two seasons, after the Chiefs were deemed favorites to win it all, this will truly be an interesting year. KC may lose some on offense but the OL will be better, either CEH will develop or we will pick up Jones who I think is better than Williams honestly. JJ will add something to the O. Hardeman will hopefully build on a decent 2nd half of 2021 and Scantling may blossom in this offense. Maybe he can do more than GB asked of him (run go routes every down). I predict getting Fortson back will be huge as well. Will miss Hill of course. He was electrifying. This may force Mahomes to stay on script a little longer now, which actually may be a good thing for the long term. Defensively, losing Sorensen and Niemann is a positive if we get ANY production from their replacements. HB is a loss in leadership but his play had slipped. The only real loss to me is Ward. Hopefully, we'll get a couple studs in the DB room either through FA or the draft. I don't believe this crap that the rest of the AFC West has passed the Chiefs. A couple splash players doesn't equate to our overall team superiority.
  8. I agree. I think the only way they deviate from that is if some RT falls into their laps that they think is a steal. They are probably still high on Niang and maybe even Long if he can stay healthy. Wylie showed improvement so it’s probably his job to lose.
  9. Patrick will just have to have three vaults to hold his money vs. two. It's good to be the King.
  10. If we don’t get the Safety we want, we will likely move Sneed into that spot. I honestly think Sneed was drafted to take HB’s slot. Will then be looking to get a FA corner. Also a much deeper draft for CB’s this year. Sneed is an above average corner but could develop into an exceptional safety. If Ward leaves, Fenton could be our only experienced CB on the roster. This could get interesting.
  11. I think Fortson is Kelce’s heir apparent. If not him, then it is Gray. I don’t want to take snaps away from either of them. I don’t know why people want to add to maybe the deepest position we have on the team. I would add another RB before adding a TE and I really don’t want to do that either. We would only do that if they think CEH is not the long term answer. I was hoping we might get our K. Hunt replacement with Clyde but I don’t think he is of that caliber, unfortunately.
  12. I wonder if there is any thought of moving Sneed to Safety. His game really reminds me more of a younger Matthieu than anything. You can plug him anywhere and he’s a pretty sure tackler. He was a safety in college afterall. If HB isn’t retained, I’d like that move and try to get a FA or draft a CB. If we don’t resign Ward (and I doubt we resign Hughes) the CB room may need as big of an overhaul as the DL.
  13. I think Clark's real strength is his run stopping ability by setting the edge. We will likely take a step a back in that regard regardless of who else we plug in there. If someone can provide more of a consistent pass rush, hopefully our LBs can handle more of the load in the run game.
