  1. They are good ST players no doubt and I honestly don't mind them on the roster but not as starting caliber players. Niemann should be 5th LB and only on the field in the event of 2 or more injuries. Dirty Dan the same. He isn't getting any younger and Irv Smith easily ran away from him. I do believe Nieman is an intelligent player but what good does it do you to know whats happening if you aren't athletic enough to do anything about it. I do wish someone would ask why does he start and get so many snaps because by any reasonable metrics he is one of the worst LB's in the league and the eyeball test might be worse. At this point its been 3 years so I don't even think its an issue of if we can upgrade but rather Spags prefers these guys over better players. Its a real head scratcher.
  2. Harry might have a higher ceiling and playing in KC might be what he needs, but I agree with you comment.
  3. I thought he looked good and was confident in his throws. The int looked like a bad route. Also you have to consider there is no way for the guy to build rapport with 15 different wr's. Guy took us down mulitple times for TD drives and looked poised and relaxed doing it. I wouldn't cry if they kept him over Henne but I understand the importance of a veteran backup qb. Hope they can find an injury and shelf him this year to be our #2 next year.
  4. Not sure why everyone thinks this is such a big surprise. Like you said we kept 4 craptastic TE's the entire season last year. And for the others Robinson isn't going anywhere. He doesn't have the potential ceiling of some of the young guys but he's experienced and he knows this offense well. My hope is they find a spot for Fountain. Hill, Hardman, Pringle, Robinson, Kemp, and Fountain. I think Fountain provides us with a guy we don't currently have on the roster and Powell showed so little that he should be able to make it to the PS. With that said I have my doubts Fountain will make it.
  5. I'm going to be honest. Niang has looked more natural than Brown. I'm not so sure that Niang couldn't slide over and be an above avg LT in this league. I think this Oline could end the season as a top 3 unit and they will only get better the more they play together.
  6. No offense but has any player in the last decade of the NFL been more overhyped than Clowney? Seriously, we busted Eric Fishers balls for his play but he has just as good of a career as Clowney's career. Clowney is a physical speciman that made one nasty hit on a RB in college and has been coasting ever since. Garett is another story and is a scary good player. They will have their hands full no doubt but I'm glad we are facing some tough defenses early this year so they can gel, learn, and get better for the playoffs.
  7. I think DOD is a Toub guy though....but i agree others have looked better. Same could be said for Sorensen, Watts, and Niemann also.
  8. After that hernia surgery...I would think so, but he hasn't shown much and could be a cut candidate as well. I really think Fountain could develop into a solid #3.
  9. Mahomes & Henne CEH, Darrell, McKinnon, Burton (Gore and Thompson to PS if possible) Hill, Hardman, Pringle, Robinson, Fountain, & Kemp. (Powell gets cut and makes it the PS) Kelce, Bell, Gray, Fortson Brown, Thuney, Creed, Smith, Niang Remmers, LDT, Allegretti, Wylie Long on PUP, LDT makes 53 only to be put on IR. Wanogho, Durant, or another teams cut will get called up to round out 53. Jones, Clark, Danna, Kaindoh, Ward, Okafor Nnadi, Reed, Saunders, Wharton Hitchens, Gay, Bolton, Niemann, DOD HB, Sorensen, Thornhill, Watts Ward, Sneed, Holmes, Fenton, Baker, Keyes/Bootle Winchester Butker Townsend I think Veach is searching the cut or exploring trades to upgrade S, DB, WR, DE and LB.
  10. Gore would be my #4 running back. Kid just seems to have that knack to gain those tough 2-3 yards and the patience to turn a small gain into a significant gain. Think Kemp made the 53 from tonights performance. Niemann is still horrible and Sorensen gets beat on the regular. Gay looks primed to make a huge jump this year. Young man looks like a man on a mission. Sneed is gonna be elite. Saunders looks like a man possessed and really bolsters our interior dline. Oline looks nasty now can't imagine how they will look mid season. Mahomes was engaged tonight and looked fabulous. We are going to be heck to deal with this year!
  11. You titled this post increased value. It was posted here to brag. I know why Balt did what it did by getting something for a player they weren’t going to keep. That was a good decision but Balt absolutely unequivocally did not increase value on the initial trade. It’s possible they draft a stud in 2023 and that changes things but until then they lost value in this recent trade. And no we wouldn’t be singing Veach’s praises. We would commend him on getting something for a player they would eventually cut and admitting they missed on a draft pick, but that’s it. It wouldn’t be considered a plus or good thing by any means.
  12. Dude a 5th rounder two years down the road and a 7th rounder next year for a 4th rounder from 2021 is laughable. Spin it how you want but that is not even close to equal value.
  13. The age of Wylie and Allegretti might make it worth a late round pick, but not sure either warrant a pick.
  14. Hoping Fountain and Fortson can ball out and secure themselves a spot on the 53.
  15. How is this increased value? You drafted a guy at a position you have a log jam for two picks lower in the draft, the lower round you have to wait two years just to get him in Balt and then probably wait another year or two for him to develop. I understand getting something for nothing but the value is decreasing.
  16. I'm still stuck on the LDT for a 3rd idea. I'd be estatic with a 5th, but if Veach could fleece a 3rd then he should win Exec of the year before the season even starts for rebuilding this Oline and dealing LDT for a 3rd.
  17. Adding a 6th and a first round talent at wr would be a nice haul for two depth pieces we really don't need. Veach seems to do well finding gems in the middle and late rounds. That 6th could help us move up in the 4th or 5th if Veach was so inclined and Harry could benefit from an organization that isn't run like a military platoon.
  18. Great coach not sure he belongs either. Had he paid attention to the draft and hired a better DC we might have won a SB or two.
  19. Forgot about Rod Woodson. He was fun to watch. Both Woodsons (Charles & Rod) played deep into their 30's. I know it can happen but my point is that it is rare. Normal drop off is around 31 years of age.
  20. Easy to throw shade at LJ when your qb is Mahomes but I'd take LJ over a lot of other qb's in this league.
  21. AFC mentioned avoiding injuries and bad calls and bad breaks in an previous post in regards to winning a SB. It was the perfect storm for us in the SB. Oline banged up and in way over their head, no adjustments offensively, WR/TE's dropping key passes that would have changed momentum, and some bad calls that extended scoring drives for the Bucs that all played a part in that embarrassing lose. Nice to see Mahomes not throwing his team under the bus but you don't go out and rebuild the Oline like we did if the Oline isn't the biggest issue, still nice to see a leader should and shield the blame.
  22. Glad they gave these guys a chance to catch on elsewhere. The Chiefs really are a classy organization!
