  1. I believe we could have won a SB with Alex but the stars all had to align. Defense playing lights out, Andy calling all the right calls at the right moments, all calls going our way and then a little luck. We often got 2/4 and 3/4 but without all 4 lining up it was impossible. Mahomes changes that dynamic for sure. He basically just needs 1 out of those 4 to line up and we have a good chance of winning it all. All the best formulas start with an elite qb.
  2. The Pats have a pretty bad record of drafting wr's if my memory serves me correctly.
  3. We can worry about next year after this season. If Orlando balls out then you pay the man.
  4. I hope you are right. Would be huge for this team. Hardman developing would and could put this offense in another stratosphere. Gay developing could make this defense very effective.
  5. Kareem lied and it made the team look bad. Franks domestic issues were well known and documented and as far as everyone can tell he has been clean in that area for a very long time. This is a different issue. It’s definitely not smart but it isn’t kicking a woman on video. I don’t care what the team does but I imagine there is language in that contract if one of these charged stick we can get out. I personally have doubts Clark will ever be the same after this intestinal issue which means this could be a blessing in disguise. However, if he stays he will be gone next year if he doesn’t get 10 sacks or provide a ton of pressure.
  6. He isn’t playing for vet min and isn’t the same guy. Pass
  7. The assumption is being able to get out of that contract thus voiding the cap hit altogether. That would free up close to 20 million so even if you had to pay both 8-10 it would be a wash this year and then a 20 million dollar windfall next year which would come in handy. Again not saying they should but if this illness of Clarks has really derailed his career this is gift from the football gods.
  8. But did Clark mess up? He might have given us an out. I'm not sure this intestinal issue hasn't already sapped his career. While it would suck this year getting out of that 20 million this year would be huge. Could grab Houston and Ingram and I'm not sure we couldn't be better with those guy for just this year. I'm not a Clark hater but this was a huge year for him and to have back to back arrests for gun charges isn't a great start. I'll let it play out before I judge to harshly.
  9. If Trey doesn't start the year he won't start at all unless there is an injury. It's Andy's way. I don't get all this love for LDT. He sounds like an amazing human being but he wasn't that good before he left and he took a full year off and he has no familiarity in the locker room plus he is older. Not a good recipe for success. To be honest I didn't think he was much better than Wylie the year he played....he just had the benefit of all world Schwartz next to him. I like him as a depth piece but if he starts at RG the Chiefs are worse off. I hope Long gets healthy quickly or Smith is learning quickly.
  10. He wasn't making the final 53 anyways. Brown, Thuney, Creed, Long, Niang, Remmers, Blythe, LDT, & Smith.
  11. Hindsight is 20/20. Our defense was soft as crap before he got here. He hasn't gotten the sacks or pressures that we would like and that are required for someone making that much but he is a DAWG and that attitude rubs off on players. Obviously, he hasn't been worth the size of his contract but no way we win that SB without him. I would argue Houston and Berry's contract was far worse and far more harmful for the organization.
  12. Accoring to that chart he is still getting pressure at a high rate. I like him a whole lot more than Ingram who I think is a liability or a worse liability versus the run that Houston. Houston could probably thrive her this year with Jones, Reed, Clark, and Wharton.
  13. The last part is a little misleading….he gets paid regardless. The consequences of his restructure in 2019. Play or cut we take the cap hit (he has a no trade clause).
  14. Andy Reid has put together a HOF resume without any elite qb until Mahomes. Mahomes definitely helped him get over the hump, but I agree most coaches aren't great with avg qbs. Even BB isn't so hot.
  15. We could have made it work this year but it would have cost us someone important next year. We would have been better this year with him but it would have cost us the following 2 years.
  16. He was guaranteed this year regardless. He doesn't have to do anything to earn his check.
  17. Gotta be tough for LDT and I understand his reasoning but the NFL is very unforgiving and losing out of this chance to work with teammates can’t help his long term chances of cracking the starting lineup. Missing last year just compounds it. Again, I understand things are complicated but it definitely doesn’t help him.
  18. Kinda meh on this one. I would have been fine if he would have came back but I ain’t gonna cry about him signing elsewhere.
  19. Not really worried. Gay Was an upgrade last year even with his inexperience and lack of offseason. Bolton has far more experience coming in. The guys they should be replacing were horrible and we still made the SB the last two years with them starting. It can’t get worse but it can get a whole lot better if nothing else by putting better and younger athletes on the field.
  20. I think that was leaked by the Falcons. I don't think anyone has come close to offering a 1st considering they have to assume that contract. He's a great player but he's coming off an injury plagued season and he is 32. For that to be worth it you need 2 above avg years and both healthy to warrant the cost of picks and salary.
  21. I go back and forth on this. It would be so much fun watching JJ in this offense and it would take pressure off of Kelce and Hill but at some point we have to develop those #2/#3 wr's because we can't afford to pay everyone. Plus we have addressed wr through a variety of channels. We drafted a good looking guy, we grabbed a troubled vet in Callaway and we brought back the two guys who know this offense and with whom we won 14 games last year. I don't think Larry at this stage gives you the same juice of JJ but he also doesn't require we mortgage a lot of picks for it either. Plus there are going to be some vets cut that will give you some juice in a few weeks so I'm pretty sure Veach is gonna wait this out. Maybe every team is and force the Falcons to cut or trade him for something reasonable like OT mentioned a more reasonable 4th/5th. As far as DE, which I think the biggest need on the team atm, CJ was working out there during OTA's. I still would like to wait out a guy like Ingram/Houston and bring in a vet that has 10 sack potential. Finally, Tyreek Hill is gonna be expensive to resign this time around and he is coming up for a new contract, plus we won't be able to keep resigning these DB's to one year deals nor the wr's so those picks people throw around as currency to get JJ could be wisely used to address WR, DB, LB, S. With all that said....dang it would be fun to watch this offense with JJ!!!!
  22. I thought I remembered him in the legion of zoom and he ran a 4.4....I think I was thinking of Sammy. Yeah 4.6 is slow compared to 4.2-4.3. And I agree with Diehard he does look a good bit stiff and slow. However, he did run a low 4.48 which is technically a 4.4.
  23. I never knew 4.4 speed was stiff and slow lol. I get you though.
