  1. DE, LT, CB There are so many good wr's taken in the 2nd & 3rd round. The bust rate for wr's is higher too irc. I think we should absolutely add talent at the wr position but just do it every year in rounds 2-4. Another weapon would take some pressure off but last year we were about the same team with or without Sammy. Hill and Kelce are the best one two duo in the league. Hardman and CEH are on this team as well. Seems like a more logical decision to fix major problems like the Oline, DE, LB, & DB early in the draft and draft a couple developmental wr's in the middle. At some point adding another threat at wr doesn't raise the overall ability of the offense if the Oline can't give Mahomes enough time for them to get open. Balance imo. With that said I won't cry if we draft a good one in the first.
  2. I hadn't much thought about that. Lots of tackles gonna get drafted and quite a few LT's gonna get cut. Okung and Villanueva might be holding out but if they hold out too long they gonna be left holding the bag.
  3. I'd rather have Wilson than Niemann, but yeah I feel ya.
  4. I think Veach gets lots of credit for pushing for Mahomes but not enough criticism for whiffing on a lot of draft picks that we are now having to re draft because of those whiffs. What I mean by taking years to develop is we are wasting those cheap years on players not ready to play because maybe just maybe their upside is a little higher than the other guy we passed on. I know its a crap shoot, but sometimes the more pro ready player is the right pick and getting 4 years of playing time from him on his rookie deal is better for the team than investing 4 years in a physcial specimen like Kpass who was raw only to get 7 total sacks and not much of anything else. For example a udfa took Saunders snaps this last year. Wharton is a great find but he's an avg starting player. He's great value because he was a udfa and we found a starting rotational DT player. Fenton is another one that is great value according to where we picked. We just drafted a RB and LB in the first two rounds and the RB we didn't utilize correctly or much at all last year and the LB wasn't good enough or smart enough to take Uncle Ben Molasses's snaps. I think we try and look smarter than everyone else in the room instead of taking the best player and being a better team for it instead of taking yolo picks. RB and LB should never be selected in the first two rounds. We've been to back-to-back SB's with Ben Niemann as our starting LB and little to no run game. Its a horrible pick from a positional value point of view. Keep adding premium positions to this team and then let Veach do what he does best fill in the gaps with udfa gems and fa's. I like Veach and think he's going a good job overall but we have to get better results from these drafts. This draft is huge! If we whiff again we will actually have to have a rebuild year or two. If he hits on this draft we reload and stay favorite for the next 4-5 years. Yes we mostly agree on things but we have to start drafting better if we want to have a 10 year window or we are the next Green Bay Packers!
  5. Great signing replaced our previous center with a better un blocking center for cheaper money.
  6. Peyton was far from elite that last SB. Sure cerebrally he was elite but he was a huge liability. He played in 10 games and had 9TD/17INT. They had an elite D similar to those Ravens.
  7. Saunders is toast. Dude is so slow off the ball it doesn't matter how athletic he is. Getting tired of these kind of picks by Veach. Raw guy with an athletic trait or overall good athlete taken top 3 rounds and it takes 3-4 years just to mature them into starters and then we either don't have the staff to develop them, don't give them the time to develop, or they just suck and we reached. He did back flips, what else has he done? Seriously?
  8. He'll end up being an upgrade but hopefully a mid-round rookie gem can take that job.
  9. As far as Mahomes drops back Reiter the pressure rate and sacks would be down which would definitely inflate those PFF numbers. There is a reason he has had little to no interest this offseason. People in the know, know he is a replacement-level player. However if we had brought him back I think the IOL would be light years better than last year with additions of Thuney, Long, and LDT back.
  10. I love how they gave Reiter a chance and then moved on when he tried to wait us out. Glad we have moved on from our LG and C from last year in regards to starting positions.
  11. That'll be a good game hope we have the afc wrapped up before that game though.
  12. I don't think Chris Jones will do much at DE other than provide a stronger run-stuffer presence there. I don't mind the idea of going stout vs the run on early downs with Clark, Reed, Nnadi, and Jones but our best pass-rushing set is Clark, Reed, Jones, Taco.
  13. I wouldn't mind him because he's a great culture guy to have around and I think he still has a little bit left but I'd rather see a 3rd/4th rounder taking their lumps this year. Next year we lose a lot and won't be able to bring them back with high priced FA's. Gotta start developing guys now.
  14. Larry Fitzgerald going to the Bucs doesn't bother me at all. Let them gloat in their victory, I seriously doubt all those dudes come back hungrier this year. There will be guys that want production and want to get paid. There are a lot of mouths to feed over there as well. And I love the idea that they think they figured out Mahomes and our offense. Would I be mad or upset about Fitz coming here? Not at all but he's so long in the tooth we have to develop young guys which means drafting and finding gems in the udfa pile. We have so many holes on our team after this year we have to start filling them with rookies and guys on more than 1 year deals. This draft is huge. If we hit we extend this run if we whiff again then we could turn into the Green Bay Packers.
  15. My guess is there will be some cuts but like you said who is out there before the draft. Need it addressed before the draft to take a developmental guy or if its not addressed you have to take one higher.
  16. Yeah like this pick a lot Has the potential to net us a comp pick as well.
  17. I could see a guy like Paye, Oweh, or Phillips drop to us at 31. Would be hard to pass up the makings of an elite Dline. I know we need LT and OC but if they bring Reiter back he's at least a wash from last year and probably overall better because the guards are better. Agree we probably don't go DE but I wouldn't be mad if they had a plan for that LT spot either at 63 or a trade back up to grab a Liam E.
  18. I’d rather have Okung and his issues than Schwartz and that back.
  19. Like xen said, talent isn't the issue. He has #2 talent easy and would be another great find by Veach if he can get the stuff between his ears situated.
  20. We definitely aren't getting good value from Clark but I do think his attitude and play against the run at least make it more palatable and he does seem to do better in the playoffs. I do think they move on from him as soon as they can but I've been saying it for a while we need another DE that can create pressure. I see Frank more as a Tamba Hali who always produced better when paired with another good pass rusher. Plus we will need another alpha DE which will make letting Frank go after 2022 possible. Another reason why losing Fisher sucks. Fisher, Thuney, Draft , Long, Niang is a far superior line than what we had last year. Could have drafted a developmental LT in the 3, a DE in the 1st and OC 2nd. And probably cost us the SB.........quite literally one of the most costly injuries in Chiefs history.
  21. I think Niang has a chance to be really good. In the video he was playing RT which leads me to believe the Chiefs view him at their future RT. Which fine by me. We need two tackles might as well leave him where he is most comfortable.
