  1. Sad another team's cut would be a sizeable upgrade at RG. I really do question our ability to develop Olineman. People talk about Andy Heck but really who has the guy developed? The lineman we draft top 100 usually pan out, but any developmental guys...well never seem to develop.
  2. As much as I’d like a guy like waffle or Smith, I think OL in the first and wr in the 2nd followed by LB and IOL in the third this year. I agree we need to continue to feed Mahomes wrs but giving him time to read and throw might be just as important. Next year we might get Watkins back cheap or a handful of other wrs on one year deals especially if the cap is reduced. Less money to go around means player will be less likely to saddle themselves with a smaller longer term contract.
  3. I’d rather have Waddle to be clear but I wouldn’t hate Smith. Crazy thing is you can find studs at wr in the 2nd-3rd. Metcalf and McLaurin(sp).
  4. Rather him sit extra time and be ready for the playoffs than rush him and get hurt again. He did practice though this week I thought so maybe re aggravated it.
  5. He might not be the fastest or biggest wr but I think he would fit perfectly in this offense. Great route runner, great hands, smooth in and out of breaks and always seems to get open. Because of lack of 4.3 speed and size he could find his way closer to our 32nd pick. Would fill in nicely for a departing Watkins.
  6. That's great news. He knows the system and if healthy can't be worse than Wylie. I'm interested to see what happens with Rankins? Do we plug him in at RG if healthy or does he become the swing tackle or do we move Remmers back to swing?
  7. I think so. Which Schwartz hasn't looked great this year. To be honest I haven't missed him at all with Remmers in and Remmers isn't great. To bad Niang opted out. Dude would be getting major minutes.
  8. Mitchell Schwartz going to IR is not good assuming it isn't COVID related. Have to start wondering if Schwartz is done....like career is done? Maybe Veach and crew knew something we didn't when they drafted Niang....hard to make that jump considering the playoffs Schwartz had though.
  9. I look for the NFL and the NFLPA to find middle ground. This will screw over a lot of players for a single season pandemic if they don't as a lot of players will get cut with little to no chance at resigning for a comparable salary. My guess is close to 200 with that being locked in for 2021 and 2022 which won't really help us as we need the cap to grow to start making some of our older more expensive contract to become more manageable. Regardless there will be a lot of league minimum deals this off season and while Veach worked magic this year he also didn't have to fill 15 vacant spots on the roster. Next year will be a challenge to field good depth. We have 36 guys on contract and we are over 19 million if you view 175 as the cap limit. Again I think thats closer to 200 with a 2 year freeze in place. So assuming its 200 that gives us 5 million in savings or just enough to bring in rookies. Assuming 4 fill major holes and the other 5 (Bienemy and 4th and 5th comp) fill in depth we still have to fill 10 give or take spots. The players/positions that will have to be addressed are WR (Watkins), S (Sorensen), DB (Breeland), OL (Remmers, Rieter, Osemele), and LB (Wilson). Some of those will be drafted but Veach will have his hands full again. Damien Williams is a 2 million dollar savings cut, but I think he's more likely a trade candidate for a low round pick. Henne is another 1.5 million savings. Hitchens is an 8 million dollar post June 1st cut but I think he stays and we cut him after next year. DOD is a million dollar savings cut and like others mentioned HB will get an extension that will cut his nearly 20 million dollar salary probably by half. If Veach can have another draft like last draft (8 picks in the first 5 rounds potentially) we will be sitting great, ready for a dynasty run.
  10. I don’t mind keeping Niang at RT. He was a stud there in college and finding a good potential RT in the third is still a great find. We could move on from Schwartz if necessary and save 8-9 million. Not as much as Fisher but still a good savings. I do agree that I don’t think the cap will drop that much. Could see it stay the same and then be capped for 3-4 years.
  11. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Gay used as a blitzed with an off week to prepare. Like Holmes said, delay blitz and take a hard shot.
  12. The fact they placed them on Monday gives me hope they all play. More than likely contact tracing. Fisher is the most important one on that list the other two haven’t played in a while.
  13. I think they get the win. Balt played terrible and was still in the game. Harbaugh is a good coach.
  14. I agree. Getting that extra year is going to be really beneficial for us. Dude is super talented and even if he can’t hack it at RT/LT he can slide inside. Hope we spend two picks in the first three rounds on Oline.
  15. We haven’t spent much of anything on these o lineman, but I don’t think Heck has developed much of anyone below the third round. LDT is the only one and he has never really developed imo. Gotta spend some draft capital and get some talent for him to work with if he can’t develop these guys.
  16. Talk about going from rags to riches at a position and only spending a few million and a 4th and 6th round pick. If Veach can nab Baker (assuming he’s been vetted) how can he not win GM of the year?
  17. Meh we played terrible last year and barely got beat by the Titans and then smoked then in the playoffs. Stop Henry and they aren’t that good regardless of the cherry picked stars that try and compare Tannehill to Mahomes. We obviously can be beat but it takes a Herculean effort on their part and either a few bad calls or is shooting ourself in the foot. Like xen said we likely win with a C effort.
  18. We could have found a way to keep Ogbah but with Clark and Okafor and Kpass supposedly ascending I understand the reasoning.
  19. Dropping the charges because of extortion doesn't exonerate his character. Last thing we need on this team is a distraction. However, if Veach and co want him so be it, I'll support their decision.
  20. I think after Russell's performance today I think the MVP is Pat's to lose. Murray had a MVP play today but his overall stats aren't quite there. Sure Wilson, Murray and Rodgers are still in it but if Mahomes does Mahomes things he should win again.
  21. Charvarius Ward is a FA next year. Possibly a RFA but still a FA. His play makes it hard for us to sign him long term and the early success of Sneed makes it highly probable he won't get a new contract here.
  22. My assumption was we'd get a 3rd in 2021, 2 - 3rds in 2022, and 1 3rd in 2023. Could be huge for us if we are serious about this dynasty talk. This year alone we would have 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, etc. Veach does pretty well with 3-5 rounders and considering we have a lot of players leaving this offseason it would be great to restock the cupboard quickly and no better way to do that than draft picks. That extra third could allow Veach to grab a WR and LB with the first two picks and still get some valuable OL help in the 3rd. Lots of options. Would be extra nice in 2022 if Poles lands somewhere. We would have potentially 5 picks in the top 100. Back to back years of restocking quickly. If we have a down year it will be next year and I don't foresee it being much of a down year.
  23. Wylie lost his job to Rankins last year so here is hoping he can do it again.
  24. We could really use those. Effective immediately? Or in typical Chiefs fashion next off-season.
