  1. Hard to tell in the first game after a weird offseason but when our 4th round pick looks like he belongs it makes Hamilton's play look all the worse. I will say the play he got burned on looked like a communications mistake. Yeah bring in Prince Amukamara at this point. Need some bodies that have some experience.
  2. Great way to start the year. The O didn't skip a beat. CEH gives this O an added dimension that is going to be scary. Osemele is a big upgrade at LG. DRob dropped two good passes that he needs to catch. D looks good overall. Holding them to 7 points until garbage time. Dline got pressure consistently and probably would have a few more sacks with any other qb not named LJ or Watson. The stage didn't look too big for Snead. Hitchens and Niemann are just not good no matter how much the Chiefs try to tell us otherwise. By far the biggest issue on this team. I liked Reid's aggressiveness. Bill O'Brien is an idiot for trading away, Deondre Hopkins. Saunders looked like he dislocated his elbow. If true whats the time table for that? Was Ward's injury serious? I'll go back and rewatch but did Danna or Wharton make any good plays? I saw Wharton with some pressure and pursuit on a Watson scramble but other than that wasn't paying to close attention. What were your thoughts?
  3. Could be the run play selection. That last possession was super vanilla and we tried running off the right side and we didn't get a good push at all. Dealing with JJ Watt will do that but Wylie looked a bit weak. Here I am nitpicking a 31-7 game before the garbage TD's, but there were a few things to clean up. Overall a great way to start the year imo.
  4. I was expecting better play from Ben as Spags talked him up a bit but he is just as terrible as last year. Got burned on the TE TD and in my opinion is a smaller and slower version of Anthony Hitchens. I'd rather watch Gay be out of position because he's going to blow someone up at least once in a while. I know we held them to 7 for most of the game, but our LB's are horrid and we still don't attack holes in the running game. The rookies handled themselves well on D, Snead looked pretty decent and I noticed Wharton a few times. We double the number of sacks against any other qb not named Watson and LJ.
  5. I agree with Jet. We already have two young high upside but raw guys on the roster and two more young and somewhat proven guys in Ward and Fenton. Unless a sure fire starter becomes available I’d rather take my lumps with the new guys and see what we got. We don’t have room for any more developmental guys atm. We need two of the 4 younger guys to develop into consistent above avg starters and a 3rd to be consistent and average. Any of them turning into a stud is icing on the cake.
  6. I don’t think Pat even cares. He’s going to put up numbers that will keep him in elite company his entire career. His biggest concern now is rings and I think he needs at least 4 to be in the GOAT conversation. Probably 5 is necessary. Getting a back to back wont hurt his cause either.
  7. I have high hopes for the D as well. I actually think the added athleticism amongst the DBs will eventually be an asset in the playoffs.
  8. That’s my guess. Philly has Mcnown on speed dial in Texas for that very thing. I would be surprised if Matt won’t even be at the facility during the week.
  9. Ta'amu is similar in some aspects to Mahomes which makes sense down the road. Having a backup being able to step in and be able to run the same style of offense (obviously on a lower level) has value.
  10. Gonna be hard to get to 50 if our defense is anything close to what it was at the end of 2019. Gotta remember 2018 we had to score because our d was pathetic. It really does take the perfect storm to get those numbers because you have to constantly be putting the pedal to the metal and we all know Reid doesn't or won't embarrass opponents so unless the D allows teams to stay close it will be very difficult for him to hit 50 again in the near future. I fully expect our D to struggle a bit but round into form early on this year so I think the 4800 and mid to low 40's seems plausible. The only way I see our D faltering is if our DB's regress from last year and the rookies don't step up, in that scenario 5000/50 is possible.
  11. I love Gehrig Dieter and think he's a decent player but I laughed when his wife tried to claim he wasn't on this roster because of his friendship with Mahomes. Again not saying he's terrible but he is the embodiment of a practice squad player and isn't this his 4 year so this is the last year they can stash him there?
  12. IsBrian Flores just said they made the best move for the Dolphins in regards to cutting Rosen. As a coach you could word that 100 different ways that doesn't make it sound bad for the player but he didn't. Curious if he isn't a tad bit cancerous in the lockerroom. However, it would be nice to try and groom him for a year and then trade him for a mid-round pick next year during pre-season. Worth giving him a spot over Taamu on the practice squad?
  13. When Speaks came into camp last year way over-weight that was the end. He had an opportunity to be apart of the rotation and lock down a spot on the roaster, but coming in over-weight and then getting injured ended all firm hope that he could do that. So, like all good organizations, they addressed the hole he made himself by filling it with Okafor, Ogbah, and Suggs, and then Kpass developed and they went out and drafted Danna. He had one weird and short offseason to prove himself and he couldn't get it done. To be honest I had high hopes for him but more so as a pass-rushing DT. He's not fast enough or good enough to be any real threat off of the edge. Hope he finds another spot elsewhere.
  14. He also isn't a great ST contributor. Those last DB and WR spots have to contribute on ST or like you said be an ultra-fast and raw wr they can't afford to waive. I'm interested to see the DL, DE and LB's they keep.
  15. Lamar Miller just got cut by NE. There are definitely options.
  16. He avg 4.3 ypc on a horrible Washington team. Sign me up. He's got just the right amount of juice to sub in for CEH. Perfect one year fit for us and this offense.
  17. Dallas cut Ha-Ha Clinton Dix. Might be an upgrade over Tedric Thompson. Would be cheap deal as Dallas owes him 2 million of the 3.75 he signed for.
  18. You always give the Pats a little bit of a pass but it seemed ridiculously high when they made the move. But to be honest they haven't drafted all that well or made great moves all that well in recent years.
  19. Both teams will be rusty. We got considerably better on O while they actually got worse. There is a chance they come down with a few 50/50 balls and keep it close but I think 41-28 with them scoring a late meaningless TD.
  20. ESPN has his projections at 2020 projection: 4,477 passing yards, 33 TDs, 10 INT (281 rushing yards). When his 2019 stats were 4000 passing yards, 26TD's, and 5int and he was hobbled, missed games and was without Hill and Fisher for multiple games. Seems low all the way around.
  21. With Rankins still a question mark, sure bring him in if the price is right. If we can open holes and give Mahomes an extra second sign me up.
  22. Why would you leak this sort of info to Palmer if you were trying to hide him? Most years you couldn’t literally hide him but this year would have been easy to do.
  23. I don't think Washington is the #2 and Fournette was kind of a headache in Jax. I don't think he's all that great and I wouldn't be willing to take the chance of him being unsatisfied with his role here. I think it says a lot that Jax is cutting their #1 draft pick before his rookie deal is up.
