  1. We are going to the playoffs and therefore will easily eclipse 11 per year. Tomlin won’t have Ben for the next 10 either so it will be hard to catch. Same for Payton imo.
  2. I think CEH will add something we've missed since Kareem and will soften that blow.
  3. Looks like Jones won't be sitting out........ Now on to bigger fish.....are we gonna have an NFL season?
  4. At the end of the day you gotta lock up elite players. That's a lot of money but he's arguably the 2nd best DT in the game. I'd rather have an elite player that makes all the players behind him better than 2 slightly above avg players. Kudos to Veach!
  5. I think he (Clowney) could have a great year and get to reenter FA when (hopefully) Covid isn't still terrorizing our country. He could easily net us a 3rd or 4th rounder. You are right pushing Jones contract down the line isn't great but if we did a 3 yr/60 m type deal by the time Mahomes big money kicks in we could get out. I like having Jones around for the next 2-3 years as we have a wide open window to win multiple rings.
  6. Just saw something on Twitter that said Clowney doesn't want to pay for Cleveland or Miami because he doesn't think they can win. Rumors of a 1 year deal worth 9-10 to possibly to play with Philly...... Kent Swanson commented on it. You could easily get 9-10 million plus rookie deals in if we got a Jones deal done. Clowney, Jones, Nnadi, Clark makes up a nasty nasty Dline beastly against the run and well above avg pass rushing. Gotta think Spags would be salivating at the mouth for that front 4 with Pennel, Saunders, Kpass, Okafor and Charlton as your backups.....not bad.
  7. I agree, but I thought that about RB this year though too.
  8. My guess is no one this year kkuenn. He's already on the books for 16 million. Wouldn't surprise me if they don't give him a good signing bonus and then dropping that cap hit down so they can extend Kelce which is another rumor I've heard. Or if you really want to go all in rework it this year so we could bring in Clowney on a one year deal.
  9. Hard to judge those guys. Circumstances, QB, offensive scheme, and HC can all play a part in guys success. But yes WR's seem to have a higher bust rate or so it seems. I do think we will be investing another 2nd or 3rd in a wr next year when Sammy is gone (assuming he's gone) and maybe a 1st depending if one falls in our lap. After this years draft, Veach is going to make it a priority to keep talent around Mahomes.
  10. According to Teresa Paylor. Wonder if it’s vet minimum? Could they do this to cut Henne and save a million? Not sure what the details are on Hennes contract.
  11. I was never a huge D. Harris fan but I felt he had the ability to step up for a game or two if needed. I had no confidence Blake Bell could even catch the ball. I think Ricky Seals-Jones has more ability than Harris and while he's not a great blocker we need a guy to at least plug in for Kelce so we don't have to alter the entire playbook if he went out. The third TE can be used for the blocking TE.
  12. I think he will get the post June 1 designation. My opinion is he is easily replaceable. The fact he didn’t get much better when almost every other player did under Spags is super concerning.
  13. Going anywhere else wouldn’t be nearly as fun. Enjoying yourself is way underrated in the scheme of things. Sure you gotta set your family up for life if you can but if you can do that and have a blast.....kind of a no brainer. No way Leveon Bell can be having as much fun for a terrible Jets team as he did playing for a perennial winner in Pittsburgh. But yeah like some of you said it wasn’t much of a discount. Would love to find a rookie next year in the draft that could do what he does.
  14. As hard as it is to learn his playbook I wouldn’t mind Hill, Watkins and Hardman for the next two years. Also think CEH is gonna help a lot on O.
  15. Significant decisions will be C. Ward, Kpass, Pennel, Reiter, Robinson, both Williams, Wilson, Sorenson, Breeland, Jones and Watkins. To be honest we could move forward without any of them but they do make up a large portion of our good core players. How much worse are we if we do trade Chris Jones and Damien Williams this year for say a 2nd and two 4th. Then sign someone like Clowney, Harrison for one year and roll with Washington, CEH, Darrell and Darwin? The only reason I ask is those 3 picks in this upcoming draft will go a long way at replenishing some much needed talent for this next decade run. Tough decisions for sure. I go back and forth on Jones as I think his interior pass rush is very unique and helps mask other issues on the back end for us. I think his pass rush is worth more than a top tier CB. However 20 million per is steep and does limit the talent we could add at multiple positions.
  16. Could we afford to keep him on a contract like 3/36?
  17. If we can’t find a lb whose best trait is merely getting guys in the right position then we are in trouble. The only reason Hitchens is on the team is because it was Veachs worst deal and he’s making as much money as our NFL Dedensive MVP candidate last year. Every team makes mistakes and has to live with them. He will be almost assuredly cut post June 1 as soon as the season is over. I’d love to see Harris take his job this year but with no offseason I doubt that is possible.
  18. What about 3/60 with 42 guaranteed. 18, 20 , 22 per year. He’s 28-29 when the deal is done in time for another big pay day.
  19. I know I thought the same thing.......30-40million won't go far these days.....lol even a pathetic 3% return is 1.2 million a year.......
  20. If we don’t draft well and be shrewd in FA it won’t matter if he gets 35-50. And if you look at it like a 12/477 then it’s actually 39.75 per year. The 503m is with potential incentives like winning the afc championship game and nfl mvp. 40 per seems about right and he’s also a good bit younger than Wilson. You are right it will be harder but I’m sure you’d agree trying it thus way instead of the avg qb with a hopefully superior roster vs potential goat and slightly above avg roster. This draft and the next two will go a long way in determining if we are dynasty potential.
  21. Think they are saying 10/450. So 12/477, which avg 39.75 million per year for 12. Was hoping for a little less but that is about where it should be for his production. Glad this got done!
  22. True but some of that was Clowneys demands. If he came here and got 10 plus which I think he could do opposite of Clark then it’s very possible. He’s already lowered his demands but with Covid everyone has to plan for a reduced cap next year. But you are right that he might not met us a 3rd but what does a 1 /$16 million deal do for Seattle? And we still get a very good player while adding draft capital by trading Jones.
  23. In light of recent developments maybe we ship him off for a 2nd and 4th and then sign Clowney who’s asking for what Jones tag is and then bring in a a big Rotational DT like Harrison. Not saying I like that more but we would then potentially get a third for Clowney next offseason so in essence we could get a 2,3, and 4 for Jones.
  24. Yeah gotta keep the talent on O stocked thats our bread and butter. If Niang isn't going to start next year at tackle then he needs to be starting at guard this year for us. I'd prefer him wait but if he can be a potential pro bowl caliber guard then stick him there now and we worry about a tackle in two years.
