  1. I think Jalen Reagor would be more realistic, but would absolutely love Ruggs.
  2. The point was I wouldn’t give much of anything for him.
  3. Depends how they are graded. A mid first round wr talent that falls to 32 or a early/mid 2nd round talent at IOL, LB, DB. Thankfully for us the DB class is deep so it probably doesn’t matter but adding another elite wr for next year is something we will never regret.
  4. I’d trade LDT for him or a 5th next year. The Jags are a dumpster fire and no one wants to be there. I think he would excel here but there might be 3rd rounders in this draft that we could get for 4 years at Fournettes 2020 cap hit combined. Won’t be upset either way.
  5. All this depends on if we sign or trade Chris Jones. If we trade him we might need to go back to scoring 40. Winning in the NFL on the defensive side of the ball starts and ends with pressure. Without Jones we aren't nearly as proficient in that area. Clark gets doubled and I'm not sure anyone else on our Dline can carry the load.
  6. I’ve flopped back to keeping Jones. His contract will be big but our defense was more than fine with crap at LB and a very meh DB group and Thornhill injured. Why? Because we generated pressure and losing that pocket collapsing presence exposes every level behind it. Frank isn’t as good, the LBs get expose in coverage along with DBs. I would love the haul we could get but he is the cog that makes it work. Pay him, draft guys that our incredible staff can coach up and fill holes with guys on FA that want a ring or a prove it year. We can actually be a good bit better next year on both sides of the ball with at least one upgrade on the IOL and with an athletic WLB, drafted DB and Thornhill coming back. With that said I’ll probably flop back to trade him by next week.
  7. I think that starts to happen in 2021, but it would be nice to start grooming a guy that could give him a breather every now and then. Save some tread maybe.
  8. I think his best fit is inside on obvious pass downs. Kpass, Speaks, Jones, Clark. I don’t think he has the burst to be a truly effective edge though. It was an odd pick then and still is now.
  9. He looked like a tub last offseason. Can't imagine this covid situation is helping him keep that under control. Hope we have some guys on the defense...cough Frank cough Clark....that are keeping up with these young guys and riding them. We at least need him to contribute and be a rotational guy. Sad thing is he has some talent and ability. I just think Sutton completely misused him similar to Kpass.
  10. High energy disruptive gap penetrating DT. To slow for end and not big enough to be a run stuffer.
  11. Colquit’s value is highest on a team that utilized ball control and defense to win games. Our team changed when Mahomes took over and while flipping the field on a punt is important as is pinning a team close to the endzone it’s not nearly as important to this team as it once was. Jet is right, good teams move on from players like this.
  12. I think we see now that unless you have a great HC and great QB the Patriot Way doesn't work. Players will put up with that knit picky crap if there is results. When the results aren't worth all that other crap then you accountability and respect. There was a reason why Peyton went to Denver over KC and it wasn't because their roster was way more talented. Pioli brought all the knit picky crap with him but hired an idiot for a coach and brought in a bad qb. Not gonna blame him much for Cassell because he looked the part but whiffing on the two most important pieces is counterproductive to everything else. Next go around we get Andy Reid (great coach) and with no other options open we got the best qb we could that would allow Reid to change culture and get players to buy in. Alex wasn't great but he was good enough. Glad he learned a lesson or is/was remorseful but I'm so glad he is gone. Those were some dark dark days.
  13. Who has had the better dline around them? It matters.
  14. And another year removed from that injury. I don’t expect Revis Island I’m just glad we got a capable corner who knows the system and has the ability to make some splash plays throughout the year.
  15. I would be just as excited with Ruiz at 32 as I would be with Fulton or just about any other player. Just adding him, getting Rankin back and sliding Wylie back to RG where he looked better should really help this O really shine next year.
  16. Do we have to clear space before the draft or before we sign them to contracts?
  17. They could literally get their QBOTF, LT and a stud WR in the first round. If they do this right they could over take NE this year even if Tua sat a year. The Patriots are devoid of talent on offense and without Brady I doubt FA's are willing to take a discount to go play there. Case in point, Gronk is mulling over coming back....not to NE but to Tampa...wonder why?
  18. I couldn't remember. Thats good news. I kinda expect them to draft a LT project this year and possibly allow Fisher to be traded or cut next year. But still continuity isn't a bad thing.
  19. I’d take 18 or a combo of 26 and 70 or 26 and a 2nd Next year and 141.
  20. Who is going to be a FA next year? Ward Breeland Kpass Pennel Wilson Schwartz? D Williams S Watkins and DRob am I missing anyone else of value? If we draft a starting CB we will just need one more to replace Breland. If Saunders keeps developing that covers Pennel. Im not worried at all about replacing LBs are our core is very avg at best. Wr is the biggest area of concern and we can now grab a developmental guy in the 3-5. If we draft a T in the draft this year Schwartz o Fisher could be replaced. Could be rough unless we continue to develop our own but I think we finally have the staff on D to do just that. This offseason has been slow but I think he’s knocking it out of the park.
  21. I was one of those guys and I can tell you that I'm pumped about this signing. We obviously still need 2 more legit guys back there but we at least have 3 capable starters on the roster now.
  22. Dude Veach started slow but is killing it with these small one year deals. Solidifies our backed and gives us more flexibility in the draft.
  23. How mad he got...that made me smile. I'm really interested to see what happens with both of them (Brady and BB). Their legacies are both tied to each other and I think they both want to prove to the world that they were the bigger part of the other persons legacy. I think BB is a great coach but he's gonna struggle to produce anything other than a playoff team each year without a good qb and I think he's gonna figure out that its not that easy to get FA's who want to play there knowing they aren't even close to being favorites regardless of how great a coach he is. Their culture is so business like the only reason it was enjoyable there was because they were in the SB 50% of the time with that gone I'm curious how long players will tolerate him being so smug all the time.
  24. That could very well be true. I'm not saying he's terrible or that I don't like him just think he's gonna have to work for a roster spot this year. His pass pro is very spotty and the fact we brought in Spencer Ware mid season and had he not got hurt DT wouldn't have played at all more than likely in the playoffs. It was also reported that Andy questioned the call of even putting him in the game, Deland McCullough had to vouch for him to keep him in. Couple that with the fact we already have 6 rb's not including Sherman it is interesting to say the least. I like the fact we will have competition though. I just wonder if he is one of those guys we fall in love with and see him with homer glasses.
