  1. You might be right. I didn’t realize it was that bad next year too
  2. Why would we kick that can down the road. He will play one more year and then we will cut him. I don’t want that cap hit both this year and next. We already did that with Berry and are on the hook for like 7-8 million on Berrys deal. Hitchens is the lone black mark on Veachs record.
  3. Yeah I think #26 and a 3rd would do it for me. Or #18 alone. We could get a stud in this draft at 18. Then we could trade 32 to add another pick. However, I think Veach comes out looking bad initially because of Ballard. However the Colts aren’t winning anything and I think Veach has earned the benefit of the doubt.
  4. He is better vs the run but not the pass and his numbers will drop this year without that all star cast around him giving him a lot of 1v1 looks. Chris Jones was the most doubled teamed player I think and he still put up elite numbers without Bosa, Ford, And Arstesd around him and those incredible lbs behind him. I do agree Ballard three a wrench in thing because more than likely Veach comes out looking bad either way.
  5. The Ogbah signing was a good signing and while they probably overpaid a bit for Jones they have a paid of very good corners. Could spend your money in worse ways.
  6. This offseason is important for our future on a couple fronts. Jones being one but the other is the como formula. We signed a lot of prove it deals that didn’t just pay off on our SB run but could help us reload on picks in the future. As much as I want to active now, the prudent move is pull a Carl Peterson. Let the smoke settle and nab guys who fell through the cracks yet are the equivalent or close to guys who go overpaid. As log Veach doesn’t give Jones away for nothing we should be good.
  7. And their stud guard Marshall Yanda retired. And that upgraded line had like 27 total sacks last year. CC is a stud but at some point he’s gonna fall off the cliff and fast. They went all in to try and replicate the 49ers, thinking their O could make up the difference were the 49ers couldnt. But still that Dline isnt close to what the 49ers dline was.
  8. MVP does not necessarily mean best. Don’t believe me go ask Steve Nash about his two MVPs. Still don’t believe watch your own fan base react if a report came out that said we traded Pat Mahomes for LJ. Y’all would be partying in the streets.
  9. I don’t blame him. He won a SB had the sealing int. Time to make money. He’s not a HOF type player but yeah playing for a loser does suck
  10. We need to sit tight like the good ol Peterson days and let everyone try and play catch up with us. We definitely don’t need to be overpaying for some mid tier guys. Figure out Chris Jones first and go from there.
  11. Kirksey got 2/18 million from the Packers. Whew that lb market is gonna be expensive.
  12. I don’t think he’s overrated . He’s a great talent on an idiot HCed team. Still that trade helps us as they are no where near as good with DJ as they would have been with Deandre and another talented wr.
  13. Yeah I’m not saying he horrible or can’t be good but it’s a fact he struggled with man coverage all year, he is not a great route runner at this point and he didn’t do a lot down the stretch. Again not saying he didn’t have a good year but it’s easier to produce when the third/4th beat DB is guarding you then when the second best is. Good defenses are going to force our receivers to create separation and his biggest skill is deep speed on longer developing routes. Mahomes didn’t have time for many of those against a good 49ers D. How can he help in the short/intermediate arrow where you have to get open with your route running. My personal opinion is he’s still a year away in that department and as our #2 wr at this point(because I think Sammy is gone) he has to be so why not draft/and bring in some guys to help bridge that gap. Hope I’m dead wrong and he kills it next year but I have my doubts. Mahomes covers a multitude of issues.
  14. I think we would need to do both. A vet and another guy to develop in the 3-5 range.
  15. If we don't bring back Sammy Watkins then we need to invest in one via the draft and a veteran flier. To be honest, I'm not as high as many of you are on Mecole Hardman. He's a talented player but he can't be trusted just yet to handle the load of #2. Nothing this year really proved that. He's a deep threat and a very good gadget player but he hasn't shown consistently he can beat man coverage or get open in crunch time. I feel Pringle is in the same boat. One injury to Hill or Kelce (without Watkins) could be costly for a team with back to back aspirations.
  16. Good point can’t have your cake and eat it too. Can’t kick the van down the road forever. Gotta pay up eventually. At least we are paying a good player to play an important position.
  17. Thank goodness. Dude has gotten old fast and we can't afford to pay over the hill guys top money, especially injury prone guys.
  18. Well we were undeafeated with him playing. Also continuity is a big deal with olinemen. I think it would be very unwise to replace 3 to possibly 4 spots on the oline in one offseason, especially after that supposed substandard line helped us win the Sb. Sure it needs upgrading but lets pick 1-2 spots a year to upgrade. Fisher was injured a good chunk of the year and while he's not elite he is above avg and I like having both bookends experienced in our system. Lets get OC and one of the guard spots fixed this year then focus on our tackles next offseason.
  19. What was he expecting? Dude won his ring and now wants to make the most money he can. Now its possible we made an embarrassingly low offer but we paid him a lot of money these last two years for minimal production.
  20. I still think he's gonna be out of our price range unless we trade Chris Jones.
  21. He knows the system which apparently is quite complicated. I'd be happy to do both (add Wilson if its a super cheap deal and a 4th/5th rounder). And if Robinson is gonna get paid close to Wilson numbers. It's gonna shock us like the Wilson contract did. Don't let his numbers fool you. He blocks pretty well and is like the 4th/5th option on our team. Whether that contract pans out for himself that is another story but someone will pay him based on those few splash games/catches he's had and believe he can do it more consistently.
  22. I guess the real question is how good could Mahomes be if he could sit back there instead of taking an 11 step drop to get jet chip wasp off? Our offense this year was limited by injuries, self inflicted wounds (drops/penalties/refs swallowing the whistle and fumbles but the other issue that might trump them all is our Oline doesn't give Mahomes enough time consistently to allow these deeper routes to develop. We saw as good as the 49ers were that if Mahomes has time he can absolutely light up any team. I would argue that Tuner would help this offense more than Watkins would. Sign me up for a stud guard to beef up our IOL. I think we can find some wr's in this draft and some ring chasers to fill in for Sammy. And if its true that Sammy shows up in the playoffs and this offense can be tricky to learn then we have all regular season for a guy to learn and step up in his place.
  23. Cam Dantzler ran a 4.64 today which is pretty shocking. Maybe he could fall to our 2nd round pick. Love this kids and hope he's a Chief. Dude is like the only guy that didn't get burned by LSU or Alabama receivers this year.
