We need that money to resign Chris Jones and to me Chris is more important to this team.........and I think Watkins is very important! I think 10 million per for 2 years is fair, probably a little too fair. And this would save us 11 million which should be a little over half of what it takes to resign Jones. I think LDT, Erving and Colquit are gone for sure and I'm not sure Dirty Dan is safe even though he was big in the playoffs. I think if we let those previous 4 go Veach could get creative and keep both.

He was aggressive and outside a couple cute trick plays that we didn't need to run and in essence killed drives he called a great game. I don't think he could have opened it up much more because that front 4 was getting home in a hurry. The tackles were offset by the poor interior Oline play. Not sure about Wis but Reiter and LDT got abused on the regular. Both positions need to be upgraded. I am beyond impressed with Reid and Spags.

Williams was hot and I think Darwin started earning some trust. I hope Williams performance doesn't keep the front office from adding players to the rb corp.

I just think after this has sunk in he won't be as generous as we think he should be. However, he did stay healthy this year and boy did he come through with some clutch throws. IMO he is an enigma. Just as talented as the best in the league just disappears to much and gets dinged up too much. However he is amazing when he's on and he was one this SB run!

Nope. Bogotá. It was great until the last 3 minutes. Had to switch it on to directv....which was fine but I couldn't hear the english announcers or the post game celebration in english. It was still a magical moment though!

I might be in the minority but we will be better next year. Only Jones from the first group is a must. And I would add Pennel and Wisniewski should be resigned as well. We have 4-5 draft spots that will contribute and fill holes. LDT and Erving need to be replaced and Reiter relegated to backup. Mahomes won't rework his deal until after the collective bargaining agreement and everyone else you mentioned can be replaced. Spags will have another year in the system and better linebackers to work with along with some rookies with another offseason under the belt. Most of the guys you listed will be addition by subtraction. But you are correct the bills will eventually come due and Veach will have to continue to be a shrewd GM.....the plus for us we should see an influx of interest from vets who want to play on a contender and vets who will be willing to sign prove it deals to play here. Should be a fun offseason and it was all worth it tonight! Doesn't matter what happens in the future Mahomes, Reid and the Chiefs have the monkey off their back.

He will either rework that contract for 7-9 million per or he will be gone. Hardman will replace some of those and we will find a rookie/vet or Pringle/Kemp to replace the others. If we can replace LDT and Reiter it might not matter who he is throwing too. He didn't have any time tonight and still hung 31 against the best D we have seen.

I aint gonna lie. I was beyond nervous. All the pep talks from pro Chiefs talking heads didn't convince me of a win. I knew that the 49ers had an amazing defense mainly that from 4 and our weak spot was the IOL. I also know we have superman at qb. I was torn, going back and forth. We go up early and I'm pumped to then see it all get taken away and being down 10 with under a quarter to play and I'm thinking so close but yet so far away. That feeling I've felt 1000's times before comes rushing in and then it happens. The D holds them, we score, the D holds them again and we score again and I'm sky high. 2:49 left in the game and our D......our D has to get a stop and we win the SB..............And they not only get a stop but we put it away with a long TD. We exorcised every demon we had. The future is more than bright.....we will be better next year. Spags only had one year and a half full cupboard to work with. Imagine what he can do with better linebackers and another year for the young guys to develop. Imagine our O with some upgrades on the interior of the line. Could potentially be a historic run......and I'm spent after the last 24 hours of ups and downs! But I love my Chiefs and I love you guys and the KC Chiefs are SB Champions!!!!!! Go Chiefs!!!!

First off that 49ers front 4 is down right nasty. They didn't give Mahomes hardly any time all night. I actually thought that we might lose because of it. Mahomes found a way to win along with that D. Tonight we vanquished every demon we've every had as an organization. Our D came up with a stop to win the SB......just let that sink in. Our O responded after struggling for 3 quarters. What a great win for Coach Reid and all of us Chiefs fans. The KC Chiefs are SB champions and we have a 24 year old superstar qb with a league MVP, SB MVP and SB Trophy all before 25. Our future looks so flipping bright! Go Chiefs!!!!!

We aren’t used to a confident Chiefs team. Even years where we finished best or close to the best in the AFC there was always a waiting for the other show to drop. This group is different and they know it. They have peaked at the perfect time and are very dangerous. The 9ers are too but I’m glad we aren’t cowering down.

With news that Pat might wait until after the CBA to negotiate then Jones becomes priority along with bringing back Pennel and Wis then maybe one of the dbs.

When this draft is full of talented players that will cost 1/20th and be around for 3-4 years hard to imagine him staying unless it’s a drastic pay cut. 10 per aint getting it done unless he goes 10/200/2-3 in the SB

CFF, I totally agree. I hope we figure a way to keep Jones and Pennel and the draft a DB/LB and sign another DB like we’ve done. If any of them can be better then I think our D can really get after people. Because I think Saunders, Nadine, Kpass and Speaks are all going to make massive jumps in the offseason.

Curious to see what he can get out of Saunders, Kpass, Speaks, And Nnadi with a full offseason. Has the chance to be a good but better that this year which would be awesome! Hope he can coach these guys up in a hurry because I’m sure it won’t be long before he starts getting offers himself.

I am not a Hunt hater. I believe if we had Hunt we would win the SB by probably 14-21 points. I think he is that good in our Offense. However this idea that he sounds remorseful in that video is stretching it. Dude lied to probably the nicest police officer there is and then kept shucking responsibility until he got caught. Doest that sound familiar? Lie, Lie, Lie....get caught....then come clean and sound remorseful? Doesn't sound like he's learned any lessons in life. First off why are you doing drugs or anything illegal now? The offseason in which you need a team to take a flyer on you? Seriously he couldn't wait until he got resigned? Dude's a train wreck waiting to happen again. It is sad but I don't feel sorry for him at least not this time. Hopefully this will finally wake him up.

I completely agree! That front 7 is down right nasty and our interior Oline is one of the 2 weakest links on this team with LB's being the other. They match up well to exploit both of those weaknesses. Deebo seems to have at least 1 huge run per game but I think you have to force Jimmy G to beat you. I know thats not easy but I think Spags with two weeks can do a better job than GB and Andy Reid always does well with extra time. I think it'll be a close game but this year has prepped us vs tough defenses and none of them have been able to completely shut down Pat the the O so this game will come down to our D being able to slow that run game down and TO's. Chiefs 28- 24 49ers with Pat driving down the field on the last possession and scoring the game winning TD with less than 30 seconds on the clock.

Cam Erving might murder a fool if they tried....just saying the last time someone tried to be dirty the dude flipped out on the sidelines. I am not a fan of Cam's game but dang! Everybody loves having a guy like that on their side.

Speaks will be next years Suggs. A bigger stronger DE that can rotate inside on obvious passing downs like Kpass. I agree they aren't giving up on a cheap and talented guy that was also used incorrectly under Sutton. The guy is a hustler and should thrive with better coaching and a new scheme. Guys we have coming back Clark, Nnadi, Saunders, Kpass, Okafor and Speaks. Guys we should resign are Jones and Pennel.

Darrelle Revis was pretty good and he played in an era that was less friendly towards defensive players.

I would love to meet you guys one of these days. I currently live overseas and will be there for another year and a half but if anything is planned down the road I'd love to put a face and name to these screen names. Love this site and all of your takes.
