  1. That is the epitome of bargain bin shopping. Kudos Mr Veach.
  2. For some this is a bigger deal than others.....
  3. Me too. Plus I believe he loves Andy Reid and this area. Seems to make a lot of sense. Would be a pretty cool story to come back and have himself another great playoff run to cap it off with a SB in KC. How many playoff sacks is he short of the record? 3? Talk about a crazy legacy here in KC if that were to happen.
  4. I mean he has slimmed down a bunch.....🤷‍♂️
  5. Was talking to my cousin today about this. Seemed like he kind of had an attitude last year. WR market has been weird the past two years. First year was out of control and then last year the owners course corrected hard and lowballed almost everyone. Maybe the Chiefs had a conversation with his reps and the numbers weren't close so they never formally offered him anything. It was definitely a humbling experience for him to be a healthy scratch on a bad team. Hope he comes back humble and ready to work.
  6. You think they let Washington go? It is nice when your returner can contribute elsewhere on O or D. I like Hardman as an insurance returner but not the main guy.
  7. Crazy how high the expectations were for Hardman compared to Moore. Hardman has made some incredible plays, not nearly enough for most but some amazing and important plays. Skyy Moore has been given tons of grace in comparison. I for one am glad Hardman is back his speed is an asset even if its just on gadget plays and I have to believe that stint in NY was humbling. Maybe he comes back humble and hungry. I also would love Frank to be back for the stretch and for his mentorship. Low key acquisitions that could pay off handsomely in the playoffs.
  8. Yeah Frank Clark down the stretch at vet min is kind of a no brainer. We have quite a few developmental guys on the roster we lack some vet experience at that position. Definitely an overlooked aspect of player development is veteran players teaching the young guys. I'm pretty sure Karlaftis would tell you the time spent with Clark and Hali and even Dunlap last year is valuable. Now I'd rather have Dunlap but he isn't going to play for the vet minimum imo and maybe Clark doesn't either.
  9. At some point you have to attempt to draft and develop a wr corp and I think most like the potential development of his wr corp, not that it would be serviceable. Early results are in and only Rice appears to be ascending which sadly makes our wr corp very underwhelming. Mahomes can win with this group but thats not a recipe for success and it also puts way to much pressure on Mahomes. The defense appears to have been fixed or upgraded for the next couple years, so finding Mahomes legit weapons is paramount. Kelce is slowing and we seem to have found a weapon in Rice but Toney, MVS, and Watson aren't long term solutions and Moore looks more like a bust than a contributor. It says a lot when getting Hardman back from a pretty blah offense will probably help raise the bar of the wr a little. Will be sad our wr corp costs us a legit chance this year. I still think the group will get better and hopefully be sufficient but moving forward we gotta find a stud #1.
  10. Yeah, I read it. Looked a like a typical fan piece. Feigns a few compliments to set up the criticism and then offer their professional advice about who Veach should go after. None of which move the needle imo. Also, the author failed to acknowledge the CJ95 ordeal that held cap space hostage for all of FA. Sure Veach overestimated this wr room. Kinda hard not to after last year. It hasn't worked out the way he had hoped but he also didn't overpay which was a precedent set the previous year. He wisely let Juju and Hardman walk. IMO Skyy Moore is his one blemish outside of not addressing the position in FA. No GM is perfect and maybe wr's are his weak area but I think he is aware of the issues on this team. I'll give him some time to get it fixed. He fixed an entire Oline in one offseason. Rice looks to be at worse a future #2. Toney, Moore, and Ross are on cheap club controlled deals. He can go out and get a #1 next offseason. To build a dynasty that lasts run you have to trust your draft picks and occassionaly the potential development of young players. Its worked out in other areas but my guess is Andy's offense and the amount of in route decisions that need to be made make it difficult for some wrs. Also, as good as the best gms are they are going to have misses. I'm more concerned with the scouting department and wr coach. Seems like there has been some turnover in the coaching and maybe the scouts are finding the best fits for Andy. They have figured out someone in regards to DBs so we can only hope they can do the same with the wrs.
  11. Totally agree, just nice that we have acquired quality depth on this team.
  12. The jet sweeps were not the same. Toney is quick but he wasn't fast enough to get to the edge on numerous attempts. Hopefully Hardman fixes that.
  13. That literally can be said about it any of the top teams. Tua/Hill, Hurts/Brown, Allen/Doggs. That is partly why winning a SB requires a lot of talent and a little bit of luck. I actually think this team is better prepared to handle an injury or two outside of Pat. Bolton has been down and you hardly notice it. It’s a long season but I think our training staff does a great job of preventative health and rehab.
  14. Its akin to the Packers going from Favre to Rodgers. I wouldn't even mind trading up for him. Keep an elite talent at TE for the remainder of Mahomes career. Dude reminds me of Kelce after the catch.
  15. Yeah the embarrassed statement had to rub Pat wrong considering he kneeled it before making it a 30 point game. That team might have been real scary if Rodgers hadn't got hurt. Other than that it is Any Given Sunday. We are right in the thick of things and we have yet to even remotely see our potential realized. Time will tell.
  16. I wonder if Mahomes putting him back into positions tipped of the D. Had to be frustrating for Mahomes especially with a guy who was in the building a good portion of last year and all offseason (even if part of it was injured). Oh well, gotta imagine that will get cleaned up.
  17. Clark makes this a better team on D. He isn't taking a spot from the top guys but he is savy and could help the younger guys develop. Finally, he would be super cheap. Makes sense imo.
  18. I like him for the playoffs and his leadership with the younger guys.
  19. That jet sweep isn't remotely effective with Moore and Toney. While both are stop watch fast none of them can even get to the corner like Hardman or Hill. Takes them to long and they end up losing yardage most of the time.
  20. 100% agree that he isn’t call the plays so who is? We know obviously it’s Andy. I just don’t understand for the life of me why we do this crap. The Eagles lean into their strength and call that bull qb sneak push, Brady would sneak it or throw it, yet we act like we got the ghost of Damon Huard and a piss poor Oline out there. Seriously, why do teams normally call plays like that, because they are trying to overcompensate for a weakness. We have the best player in the world at QB and the best TE and a top 3 interior Oline, just run a regular play. I still think Andy is mid season evaluating this team on O for the stretch. We play down a lot to competition but we generally are always ready for good teams. Andy is a great coach so we probably need to trust him and this process however ugly it is.
  21. That is why you hand it off. That’s why they call it a read option. Problem is putting a guy with questionable decision making ability in charge of two big plays. He almost threw a pick in double coverage earlier. Only way this might be a win is if it is used for misdirection later in the year.
  22. Starting to feel like a panic signing and massive overpay 😬
  23. I know Mahomes hasn't looked great but dang this is getting old. That was a beautiful ball and another drop. Hope Watson is ok.
