  1. Honestly I think that play would have worked had he handed it off to Pacheco. He got greedy and wanted it for himself. Toney is very quick but he isn't blazing fast. We actually miss Hardman on those sweeps for that reason. This is embarrasing that we can't score against a banged up Denver D.
  2. Toney isnt as great as many of us hoped he would be. Pacheco has an easyfirst
  3. I feel like more time than not those cute plays get the O out of rhythm. We had 3 wr's bunched up on one side of the endzone on that 3rd down. Yikes. Can anyone get open 1v1?
  4. Yep. stop getting frustrated and throwing yolo stupid balls
  5. I don't think Mahomes trusts any of his wrs. Toney drifting out on the pbu and McKinnon killed one drive. Mahomes hasn't looked great this year but I truly believe there is no development from any of the caryy over wrs (MVS, Toney, and Moore). Rice is still young and learning. I think it gets better but we aren't seeing much improvement from anyone not named Rice. Moore has no feel for the game. Thankfully our D looks the part of a top 10 unit. 13-0 and the ball after half against a divisional rival isn't the worst thing in the world.
  6. Disagree. Many teams don't get better as the season progresses. Many peak early, injuries happen, harder schedules down the stretch, etc, etc. Our team has reached the point were regular season games are important in that they are a means to a playoff birth and they are important to tweek and experiment early on. This years D is 10x better than anything we've seen in the Mahomes years and we are without Bolton and Omenihu. Our offense is still almost putting up 30 a game with all sorts of problems at wr and miscommunications. We have a seasoned HOF HC and a HOF QB. We might not win the SB but the idea that his is barely a playoff team is laughable. What other team is a super threat to us in the AFC? The Bills are inconsistent and have never beaten us in a meaninggul game, the Bengals look terrible and are already in a deep deep hole in their divison, the Dolphins got schlacked by the Bills. We beat the Jags short handed. Out team scares the living crap out of most of the NFL because we are rolling right along and we aren't even at 75%. Out only legit threats at this point in the season are the Eagles and 49ers and maybe the Dolphins and Bills. I get it, it hasn't looked pretty but dang this team has soul crushing potential at best and deep playoff potential at worst. We will be fine.
  7. I think we will see a natural transition on this wr corp. Watson is the only one making it challenging because he is making regular plays. Rice and Ross need to see the field more. Toney is the gadget guy. Maybe Moore has jump left in his development but 25 games in and how many flashes have we seen. Feels like we've seen more out of Rice in just a few games. We are winning games even though the O has looked out of sync. We can absolutely win the SB with this team and group of wrs. It will get better imo as the season goes on. I know Ross dropped two but his first catch was really nice. Rice, if he can eliminate the drops, is gonna be really good in this O. Finally, the wrs have not been great this year but I'm going to be honest Mahomes hasn't looked quite 100% either. His deep balls aren't great and something seems a little off. Maybe its the routes and lack of trust but he air mailed that MVS throw yesterday that with some touch would have been an easy TD for MVS in the back of the endzone. Then a couple of other throws that are just off which is unusual for him. Guess I'm just saying the entire O looks off this year and we are still winning so I trust Andy and Mahomes will get it figured out when it starts to really matter.
  8. We are going to have to be patient. This isnt thr normal way of breaking in an almost entirely new and young wr. Typically it’s bringing in 1 or 2 behind seasoned vets but we just decided to do it all in one off-season. If it works out then our window is open indefinitely provided everyone stays healthy if not we address it in the off-season. What is great is we don’t have so many holes that we can’t get them fixed in one off-season. As much as I want them to win every SB they aren’t going to do that so we should enjoy the process and hopefully it works out like we hoped. I mean we are 3-1 and our O looks like Crap so it could be worse, like the Bengals.
  9. We used to do this often. Get up on a bad team and then coast and they make a play or two and get momentum and then we have a dog fight. Wr group as a whole is more concerning that originally thought. For better or worse this is our wr corp and I hope it doesn't cost us down the road. Still a lot more time to for the younger guys to step up and develop some rapport with Mahomes so its not time to panic. Hope they get things cleaned up soon though, that was an ugly game.
  10. Was traveling this weekend and only saw the last 8 minutes live before I rewatched them game. First quarter we looked great and I wonder if we didn’t pull an Andy Reid classic and take our foot off the gas. I try and remember every week it’s the opponents SB minus a few actual contenders. That D is legit and Mahomes looked rough. The one pick was a mere miscommunication with Kelce the other one was a bad throw and the almost int was ugly as well. He didn’t seem particularly comfortable in the pocket. I think WR is a bigger issue than we hoped it would be. Rice looks like a potential stud and long term answer but his drops are super costly. D looks much improved over last year and we have big contributors out. Ugly win but it’s a win and we are in first place. I thought this is exactly how the Pats used to play. They would grit out ugly wins and then move on to the next week. We still have the best qb in the world and best coach. Good time to be a Chiefs fan!
  11. Seems like the young guys are doing well, any room for a vet like Jones assuming all his shenanigans are because of his unhappiness with the Raiders. Might be legit mental issues though in which case hard pass. Haven't kept up with it too closely just saw that he was released.
  12. Mahomes had all day to throw the ball today. The online isn't the problem. Kelce had a false start and they called that TD back on Taylor for his alignmnet that was complete bull. Taylor will be just fine. The play that got Mahomes ankle rolled up with on Smith's side and I'm shocked they didn't call a penalty as Ngakoue fell into Mahomes leg. Seems like it could have easily been avoided but was on purpose. Gabbert got the Mahomes treatment today in regards to his ints. I love Rice and what he brings to the team but the dude doesn't have great hands. That ball was perfectly thrown. The first was a good play by the defender. This was a great get right game. Offense looked much better and our D is looking dynamic. Karlaftis should have had a safety and got held badly. Even Mitchel Schwartz commented on. Fun game and glad both Mahomes and Smith seems to be ok.
  13. So apparently whatever I type the player then proceeds to prove me completely wrong. Dang Rice....catch the ball.
  14. Hope Mahomes and Smith are ok. Great get right game.
  15. Great overall game but dang is it frustrating to see CEH on those sweeps. There is a hole the size of a semi truck and he is too slow to get to it in time.
  16. That looked pretty good to be honest. At this point they are just nit picking. Even the announcer commented on it.
  17. I think they have a chance to be a good core but with Kelce on the downside of his career, it's time to go get an Alpha wr. Not to say Rice or Ross couldn't be that but we will know if they are more than likely by the end of this season.
  18. Thoughts on the game. What an ugly game. OL killed 3 drives, MVS killed another, Toney put us behind the chains on yet another and James muffed a punt. On the drives we didn't sabotage ourselves we looked good. Moore and Toney (outside of that fumble) seem to have put the Lions game behind them and played well. The D with CJ could be special. Can't wait to get Omenihu back. Taylor had a rough day. Refs were looking to make an exampe and it got in his head. He will be fine. D. Smith need to remember he doesn't need to hold with PM back there. Kelce was rusty and a little out of sync. The Jags are a good and well coached team. That D front aint no joke. This may seem like an ugly win but I think we will look back and appreciate it down the stretch. When our O gets it figured out, the rest of the AFC needs to watch out.
  19. The trade helped both teams but there are times I miss what he brings to the table. Dude is electric.
  20. 4th and 6 on their 20 with 2:47 left and the Titans kick the fg down 4. The Titans are the 90's Chiefs. Just good enough to make the playoffs but never going to do crap playing that style of ball.
  21. We lost because of a few costly errors but there were bright spots to our game. I watched that Bengals/Browns game and holy cow the Bengals looked like trash. Mind you, I think the Browns are gonna be good this year but still. Burrow didn't have much time and his wr's didn't catch much. The D got cooked numerous times as well. Throw in that its an AFC loss and I don't feel nearly as bad about our 1 point loss.
