Defense looked good until the ST play. Like it took the wind out of their sails.

He bulked up and he has looked slow all preseason. Early though, they will get it figured out

At this point, shouldn’t our ST expect this on just about every ST play? Upstart young team trying to take it to the champs. Not excepting it is crazy

I in no way think that puts us in cap hell but the first year won't be at his current amount (we won't know until a deal is signed what that first year actually would be....maybe 10 million) so those next 2 years won't be at 3.66. Even if its 8 million more extra those two years it doesn't put us in cap hell, but 8 million a year is a serviceable player we can't sign. That might be the only real argument. We lose a Willie Gay type player because of it. Not sure that exactly kills us though. I know you didn't ask me and I know I've not indicated that signing him would put us in cap hell. I am actually surprised (if Florio's report is true), why the Chiefs haven't already signed him. A 3 year extensions with his current contract ripped up isn't bad. We pay a little more but we avoid the years when CJ is playing at 32 and above. I am actually someone who thinks CJ is more important than Creed, Trey, or Bolton and probably a combination of the two. We have won a SB without any of those guys and while I want all three back none of them impact a game like CJ can especially for the D. Creed is the one guy and like you said in an earlier post we can absolutely afford to resign him regardless of what we do with CJ. Bolton next and then Trey. Which both might price themselves out of town this year, but if we wanted to we could sign all of them. Crazy that it has come to this and I don't think the Chiefs are budging, even if we lose. The longer this drags out the more leverage they have and the cheaper it gets to control him next year. Can't wait for it all to be over with.

That would be a two year extension in essence. If true, I understand why CJ is holding out. Either of those sounds like a win win. If the 3 year deal tears up this last year then the Chiefs should do that in a second.

I'm not a CEH fan but RB's who flashed a little vs 3rd and 4th stringers on bad teams doesnt necessarily mean they are keepers. CEH is pretty mid but he has produced in the league when healthy. I think Perine is a great PS back that can move up to the active roster if needed. I liked Perine but rb's are a dime a dozen these days and when top notch rbs aren't getting big deals I think that position is the safest one to try and sneak a guy on the PS.

He will report when he is ready. I do think he is hurting himself more than he is hurting anyone else and I don't think this is going to end well for him. Father time is not on his side and Veach doesn't seem to be a GM that once he puts his foot down will budge. And unfortunately for CJ, the longer this drags out the more and more leverage Veach has.

Greedy Williams and Marquan McCall were a few names that got cut. Greedy seems like a possible Veach dice roll.

MVS isn't going anywhere. There is a lot of optimism for Moore, Rice, and Ross but until they actually do it for a full season they are question marks with high upside. Remigio is an IR stash and ISM will be traded if at all possible. Glad we have this problem though. Hopefully all three out of Moore, Rice, and Ross develop. Would be a really nice young wr corp for the future.

He has waited so long he has backed himself in a corner. Feels like an OBJ situation. Overestimated his value and might end up losing out on millions.

Last year to start the year he looked pretty good and started the season well but he hasn't looked good this preseason. Maybe its the play calling.

He plays the entire year. The staff like him for some reason.

The play calling and the oline haven't looked good in that area all preseason. Do we just run that delayed draw every time? Has it ever worked?

I honestly think that is what they were trying to do. They featured him every preseason game and he looked bad in every one. Slow and indecisive. He does have value as a pass catcher but we don't use back like that here or at least Mahomes doesn't like checking down to them. Oh well, that mistake is about to see its final year and hopefully Veach never makes that same mistake again.

How many drops and tips are our wr's/te's gonna have today. Bushman, Blanton, Rice, Powell.....yikes.

Crazy that Smith-Marsette probably won't make the team. Good for him though, no way he isn't on an NFL roster this year. He has balled out.
