  1. It might have been but it hit Powell in the numbers. Gotta catch that.
  2. Short hopped the first pass after the int then threw a bullet to Powell right in the bread basket and he dropped it for Buecheles 2nd int. Like the aggressive throw though after the int.
  3. That might be the nail in Buechele's hope to be the main backup coffin. He stared him down too.
  4. Buechele gets the start. Ready for the regular season to start so we can see Pacheco over these poor CEH plays.
  5. How does that work. Didn't we tag him only through the offeason. Didn't he play that year on a new deal. Does that still count? Or am I misremembering.
  6. I would include Frank Clark in that as well. Conversely, CJ has lived up to his contract which was a hefty contract at the time. DT's also tend to last longer than DE's and Safeties s so we have going for us.
  7. Won't he be a free agent next year and I don't think he has any dead cap after this year so wouldn't that be added to this years cap with each passing week. I don't know per se, but heard a guy on one of the Chiefs podcast talking about that (can't remember which podcast it was though). It also makes it easier to tag him. The Chiefs aren't budging imo. I think he has used all his leverage and the only leverage he has left is hoping his absence costs us games and we get desperate. His sitting out hurts his chances of getting a bigger contract next year because of age and current year production (assuming his hold out affects his production on the field and I don't see how sitting out games is going to help you repeat a year like last year) and it also makes it easier and easier for the team to tag you next year. What incentive do the Chiefs have in caving other than having CJ for the first half of the season. To compound it for CJ, the first half is the easier half of the schedule. If we run off a bunch of wins without him then what? He has burned money this year that he will likely never see again. He said he would sit out till week 8 which is like 10 million lost. I can't see how, even with a new contract he can make that back. Just odd imo. Why not be with your team and put together another year like last year and hit fee agency with the chance that some team will offer you the moon and with your tag number being so high the Chiefs can't afford to tag him. I think we all are getting tired of this, but since we don't know the numbers its hard to judge too harshly.
  8. Dothan is the farthest thing from the East Coast lol, but I get what your saying.
  9. Nice. Been through Dothan a lot of times at Dothan Assembly of God. We do missions work and they are a supporting church. Sounds like a tough choice Arthur. There are definitely benefits to both places. Moved to Alabama after marrying my wife. 4 years in Phenix City and 7 in Butler AL. On a side note, have you tried Conecuh Sausage? Best sausage I've ever eaten. Good luck to you bro!
  10. I'm not sure about that. I think that is game day active roster. Meaning he has to be on the 53 but on game day he doesn't have to be on the active game day roster but could still play. I could be wrong though.
  11. I don't mind a player getting his money (within reason obviously) and I understand CJ earlier this summer trying to force his hand. Right now, he is leveraging the Chiefs opportunity to repeat, the opportunity potentially to host a 6th straight AFC championship game, and his teammates season for what? A few million dollars? Sure that sounds like a lot but he has already lost over a million and if he sits until week 8 he will have probably lost more than what he is holding out for gains him. Its a lose lose situation for him. There is fine line of the locker room questioning the Organization's willingness to pay their own and a guy just being greedy and selfish. Veach has shown that he will pony up for good players but he won't overpay. At the root of holding out past this point is the hope that the Chiefs lose games because he sits out and forces them to pony up. So he gets his money, but in the process the team suffers and his actions potentially hurt the chances of repeating and doing something truly historic. I'm saying this with the assumption that Veach has offered a contract within a few million of AD's. Again he deserves to get paid stupid amounts of money to play a game and I don't think many of us care but holding out when you are already under contract in a very important year is not a great look. It also sets a precedence for future contracts. I don't look for the Chiefs to budge. Either CJ will take the offer or sit out or whatever he will do and if he chooses that path then we could be in for bumpy year trying to repeat.
  12. Yep the long this drags out the worse it looks for CJ, unless the Chiefs are lowballing him which we don't know. Would have to imagine that if that were the case it would have been leaked by his reps. I have a feeling this is an agent with very few big names and this is a big score for them and they aren't giving CJ the best advice. Miss TC is one thing but screwing around with your contract year season is another. Chiefs could let it play out which is what it looks like and if he has a lack luster year while turning 30. He might get that bag but it might be on a dumpster fire team to finish out his career. Time will tell. Yikes I thought this would have been done weeks ago. I was big time wrong.
  13. I think its a great rule but that 3rd qb counts against the 53 man roster so in that way it stinks. They have expanded everything else so why not give teams an extra 1-2 persons on the roster.
  14. Gamepass moved to DAZN app and they are cracking down hard on users who do that. My cousin tried it and occasionally it works but many times the app blocks him because of his VPN. Maybe a more expensive VPN like one you mentioned will work though. We paid $100 for our game pass in Colombia, but we don't need the vpn here to watch it. Hope it works for y'all!
  15. Arthur what part of Bama do you like in? I think I may have asked you years ago but have forgotten. When we lived there it was brutal to find Chiefs games. Didn't help we weren't very good and had no prime time games. We live in South America and we us NFLGame pass but its a lot cheaper here than there. They just switched to DAZN which apparently is only showing in 720p...so not sure how long that will last. $350 is what game pass is now?
  16. It does seems counterproductive to hold out into the season. Unless Veach caves and gives into his demands, which seems highly unlikely after the Hill situation, then he is only hurting his value for next year. He can still get a good, maybe even great, contract at the age of 30, but he will have to have another good year to do that. Holding out into the season not only hurts the chances of that but it also costs him chunks of this years contract. Time will tell. I still think it gets done this week. I am with y'all though. The longer this drags out the worse it is for him. Also, I don't believe Pat and Travis took less so a guy like CJ could be overpaid. I believe they made some sacrifices (if you can call it that) so the team could afford to retain its players not overpay them.
  17. Ima pump the breaks a little on Buechele. He looked great against the Arizona Cardinals 2nd/3rd stringers. I love his talent and the idea of the team developing him but he isn't getting a 3/10 million contract in the NFL at least not until he has played meaningful snaps in a real game and proven he can. I'm also willing to bet he is just happy to be in the league and is hoping for a roster spot. Crazy how he went from the roster bubble two weeks ago to a guy who wouldn't sign a long term contract here because he can get a better deal from another team (Remember other teams don't have Andy Reid as their OC/HC). I am pulling for him to make this roster because I like his upside over Gabbert but I don't think he is some desired qb by a ton of NFL teams. I think there are quite a few teams that would love to claim him but I doubt hardly any are willing to trade for him atm. Maybe I'm wrong but he isn't quite a proven commodity.
  18. Dude wasn’t afraid of slinging it around. I like that in a backup. That Gabbert throw was on the money as well. Glad we have two capable backups.
  19. Yes it was. Fun seeing all the young guys and 2nd stringers fight for a roster spot.
  20. Good showing for a preseason game. Not going to take too much from it though because its the Cardinals and they are terrible.
  21. Tackling could be better for sure but its preseason game 2. Still getting into the groove. Definitely needs to get better though.
  22. DiCaprio Bootle having a rough night. OL looking good tonight. Too many penalties but other than that not bad preaseason game 2. Buechele has looked good. Rice other than that drop has made some nice plays. J Ross had a nasty route for a nice gain. Our DE's getting close but whiffing a lot and breaking contain while at it but pretty encouraged by their motor though.
  23. So following the pattern that the Pats employed would close our window of dominance? How do you figure? That exact formula helped keep their window open for nearly two decades. The reason other franchises failed at employing that strategy is because they didn't have a GOAT QB/HC combo. We do. The Pats realized, like I hope Veach does, that overpaying players on your team actually closes the window. Keeping an above avg team around your QB is all you need to give yourself a good shot year in and year out. I like that Veach has a number. Last year they were going to pay Hill handsomely but he got greedy (which is his right) and we traded him. CJ isn't Hill and we need him for sure but we paid him elite money at the time last contract and our other elite HOF caliber players both took less that market value to be here. No one is asking him to take peanuts but asking for Donald money (which was a don't retire contract and a definite outlier) is crazy. And for Cincy and Buffalo, neither of those teams can afford CJ.
  24. Agree with all of this. We might regret not signing Khalen to that 3/12m deal.
