  1. I would be down with that. I was under the impression it would take a new deal. I wouldn't hate it if they released him or traded a late late draft pick (5-7) for his current contract because there are no guarantees if Juju can't be resigned. I feel the same way about Juju. I think 15 million is the most I would be comfortable signing him for. He is good an probably worth more than that in this current market to another team but he isn't worth more than that to this team. JMO though.
  2. Every FA wr's agent would be an idiot not to include the Chiefs in media reports. It helps drive up their price with a team that clearly will be upgrading that position. I've gone back and forth a little on Hopkins but have cooled of late. When wr's fall off the cliff they fall hard. Hard pass on all those guys.
  3. I don't think a guy like Houston would ever fall in todays game for those reasons. Hard to tell if this will tank Jalen's stock value, it surely won't help, but he might slip to 10 maybe. The charges are misdemeanors, but it's the choices and decision making leading up to the draft that is more concerning. What are you doing out at 2-3am in the morning drunk and racing? Still, his talent is undeniable and someone will take the risk. Joe you are right we can dream of Jalen and CJ lining up next to each other......👀
  4. I found this interesting because I thought Burkholder was praised in media circles and we have far fewer injuries than other teams it seems. Now that could be because they supposedly discourage players from reporting such things but then you look at how they handled Mahomes in the Jags game and something doesn't add up. They literally forced him to go get xrayed before letting him back in. We take concussions very seriously and it seems like we hold out players longer than normal in such instances. I can understand the facilities as Arrowhead is no spring chicken but they did do renovations not too long ago. Also the idea that Clark Hunt is cheap is laughable. Either way can't imagine this report going over well with him and at least come changes to be made this offseason.
  5. It makes too much sense as long as Frank agrees. He should, he won't get anymore than that anywhere else plus he has already stated that he likes living in KC and so does his family. Also, I don't think we can add anyone with his experience for 2.5 million.
  6. I hope Veach keeps throwing numbers at DE and WR. We should be drafting one of each in just about every draft. Like OT stated, it's going to be very difficult to find a stud DE where we draft but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. Maxx Crosby (4th), Hendrickson (3rd), Matt Judon (5th), Hargrove (3rd), Houston (3rd He would never fall that late in recent years though), Ngakoue (3rd), and Josh Sweat (4th). I know for every one of these guys there are 4-5 Joshua Kaindohs but its not like there aren't any mid-round studs at DE in the I molest collies on the regular.. We just have to be committed to drafting them until we find one.
  7. He has missed a ton of games the last three years. Not sure how much pressure that will put on OBJ's camp.
  8. We did offer him a crazy rich deal last year so apparently Veach and Co like him and I can't imagine that has changed with how he finished the year. I'm preparing myself for some insane deal that appears to be a drastic overpay.
  9. I think it is. There isn't a lot of top end guys but the guys I mentioned are all mocked last first and 2nd round. They are all tall and I believe have long wingspans something even good tackle drafts don't always have. They are upside guys but need some work which is why we could get them in that range. I do agree its not a strong LT year.
  10. Tagging him keeps him off the open market and gives the team time to sign a long term deal. They offered him way more than any of us were comfortable with so apparently they like him. I think this is one position they will throw some money at to keep it from being a need. I also think his play down the stretch is more indicative of his normal play. Gotta think they will offer him something similar to last year which is in line with is play and maybe add that 3rd year guaranteed with some weight stipulations. I think Veach and Andy want to do into this draft being able to draft BPA in every round. If this way off and they want to tag him because they have doubts this year is a great year to draft a LT at the end of the first and let them develop a year. Duncan, Jones, Harrison, Freeland, Wright all in that last first to second round range. IIRC all tall long armed tackles that Andy loves.
  11. I think CJ, Sneed, and Gay get extensions. I expect most of our cap space will be used to lock up our young core long term. Saunders would be next in line. Next year it will be Bolton. The key to all of this working out is this offseasons/drafts ability to add depth on the DL. If Veach can hit on the DL this offseason then we will have a young improving D that can be mostly retained and maintained. Trick is finding those kind of players on the Dline something that is very difficult to do without top end picks.
  12. With the development of Williams and Watson do they consider moving McDuffie in to slot on 3 wr sets and moving Sneed to a roll similar to HB? Crazy to think how good this group could be next year if they continue to develop.
  13. Xen was thinking about him the other day. Wonder if this means we will go the veteran one year route for depth at S. Or will they roll with Reid and Cook as the starters and Nazeeh as the back up. If Veach gets something out of Nazeeh this could easily go down as one of the Chiefs greatest drafts ever if all they all continue to improve on this trajectory.
  14. The Oline played amazing! The field did help our Oline. Both can be true. I think Andy Reid's play calling helped the Oline thrive and they didn't disappoint. Glad Wylie and OBJ played well, but I wouldn't make OBJ the highest paid LT unless its just by adding ridiculous years to the end of the contract that won't ever be paid nor give Wylie a sizable contract.
  15. If you sign Juju to a 3 year deal then most times the 3rd is a cuttable year. Creed is under contract for two more years which by then Juju could be cut for Creeds new deal. Also Joe Thuney's deal will be over which allows us to resign Trey Smith. I think Veach has done a masterful job setting up these deals. This year's draft class will be tough to resign but that is 4 years down the road and we will retain a few and probably gain comp picks for the rest. Its how good teams stay good. If we make any splash in FA I'd imagine it will be for either be a DL or WR and then the normal 1 year vets to add depth. The rest will be resigning our own. This window is about to be a minimum 5 years.
  16. Preserves Kelce while giving Mayer a couple years with the goat. I am a little intrigued by he Mammoth Washington kid from Georgia as well but not in the first. I think RT or DE better in the first though.
  17. The last part points to an even more productive 2nd year. He isn't a true #1 but he a good #2. Curious what a guy like Keenan Allen would want for a one year ring chase? With that said MVS, Juju, Toney, Moore, Ross, and a draft pick is still a very good wr room. Saw some reports hinting that a guy like Quentin Johnston might fall some. He might be worth moving into the 20's if he falls.
  18. This is tough. I think you offer him something similar to last year that on paper makes him the highest paid but give the team flexibility to get out after 3 and costs ~20 million apy. I also think you could tag him for 19.5 million and draft our LT in the first or second round. Resign Juju at 14 million and don't overthink it. He is young and will have an entire offseason to develop even more chemistry with Mahomes. Pass on Wylie - He played well in the SB but the field did help our Oline and he isn't an ascending player. Get the late round comp pick. Hardman - Hard pass. We finished the year just fine without him and while we need a player like that we can draft one. Saunders - I think he is ascending and that deal would be a good deal imo. I wouldn't mind bringing in a guy like Javon Hargrave on a one year deal to pair with Jones and Saunders.
  19. To be fair has Trubisky flourished under anyone?
  20. I like it. Reid does great when he has extra time to game plan. Would rather face a tougher opponent first than an easier one. I think we will be the better rostered team next year though. They losing a ton and have to figure out how they are going to pay for their qb down the road. So they go all in and lose out later or start preparing next year for that big time contract. They will be good but this was their best shot imo.
  21. One last note. Not enough is being talked about the McKinnon pull up. It's the Super Bowl and you have a chance to score a TD in a SB to give your team the lead and you sacrifice that for the betterment of the team. Chris Jones was right. This is one unselfish group of players and that was a big time unselfish yet critical play for him to make. Well done McKinnon!
  22. Had a chance to finally read through the game thread. What a rollercoaster ride. Ima be honest. After we went down 10 and Mahomes hurt his ankle I didn't think we had much of a chance, but what an all time amazing 2nd half. It was legendary. What they had to do to win was nothing short of incredible. It was a legacy game for so many on the team. I've been critical of Spags often but I thought his game plan was really good. Mental mistakes and a few errors allowed drives to continue that otherwise wouldn't and made this game way closer than it should have been. The Eagles are loaded on O and I thought we got stops when we absolutely need them and just enough to give our O a chance to win the game. The Eagles limited possessions to 8 the entire game which made each and everyone critical and that missed PI on Juju in the third possession that ended the drive was so costly. Didn't help the first down run lost yards and the next possession OBJ got the false start that killed the drive but other than that the Oline did an amazing job. Wow...kudos to Wylie and OBJ for playing their tales off. 0 sacks vs that dline is worth of some high praise. Andy, Mahomes, and everyone on that O played flawless football the 2nd half and owned the Eagles. One of Andy's best play calling jobs and his clock management was perfect. Toney was incredible and so was Pacheco along with an improessive performance by Kelce. Finally, the refs didn't screw us like many of us thought they would. That hold was 100% a hold and a good call but even if it wasn't the Goedert catch that wasn't didn't go our way and the missed PI in the first half that ended our drive didn't either. It felt like there were some bad calls both ways that evened out in the end. I still think that catch and fumble by their RB was a catch even if it wasn't according to the letter of the law. He caught it and turned before losing it but oh well it was probably the right call. What an incredible year and Mahomes has cemented his legacy. Everything after this is icing on the cake for his career. Not bad for a rebuilding year! Go Chiefs! Super Bowl Champions!
  23. That might bode really well for us. Not holding my breath but I did find it odd they interviewed him and no one really knew about it until a good bit after the fact iirc.
  24. I think we are all tired of the build up and just want this game to get here. I'm not nearly as nervous as I was before the Bengals game but just want to see the Chiefs prove they are the best on the biggest stage and cement some legacies while they are at it.
