Nah, teams always rally around new head coaches. Remember our crap show team under Haley. Clark Hunt should have kept Haley until the end because when Crennel took over we actually won enough games to take us out of the Luck running iirc. Its pretty common and this teams D is still potent. The D has done well without the exception of that Russ run a few odd calls on third and long. They seem to have it figured out now though. The two turnovers have made the score close. If Toney doesn't fumble we have an extra possession and if Mahomes doesn't throw to a fading Watson we have 7 more points and they don't have those 7 so a 14 pt swing.

Bad series by the O but great series by the D.

Was gonna say I don't think I posted anything too far fetched. I don't have any faith either in our kicking game. I am cautiously optimistic but the mental errors and undisciplined plays usually aren't synonymous with deep playoff teams. I guess we will find out though. Not a great start after the half though.

So you would feel confident in Butker with this game on the line, AFCWEST? I don't know who is to blame but dang it needs to get fixed. This is becoming a weekly occurrence. One of those dominating 21-28 pts quarters with another strip sack/int/fumble in the mix.

The muffed snap was ugly but that snap looked good (at least the laces were facing right) so not sure. That was an ugly kick. Butker did say something to him after the kick but I don't know enough about that to know. Would love to see what Colquitt has to say. The entire ST unit has been really bad this year and is getting worse. Does anyone have faith in Butker making a game winning fg at this point?

How you figure? They have 13 points vs a good D. Should be 17 pts which is on pace for 34. ST is the problem today.

We understand that but on the first play a designed run for a cooked qb untouched. We can't get off the field on third and long to save our lives. I don't understand Spags. We suck....really suck at zone schemes. Our LB's are terrible at it. So on 3rd and long what do we do? We rush 3 and a delayed rusher and put everyone in coverage and there is a hole the size of a baseball diamond in the middle of the field where Russ can toss a moon shot for 25 yards. Why not blitz the dude? He takes sacks like they are going out of style. We just aren't a smart football team.

I disagree. We have lowered the bar so much for this D that we hold them to ridiculously pathetic standards. They just let Russ Wilson run for a 20 yard TD untouched. Pathetic. The O is another issue and has issues but we aren't going home in the playoffs (if we do) because of the O. It'll be the ST or D.

I mean how many ST gaffes can you have in one year on a SB contending team without any consequences. Its not like you can point to one singular player. Every returner has fumble issues, the holder can't consistently get a snap down, our kicker struggles, and our ST unit gets has more flags than the UN building. Its a terrible unit.

He saw a cutting Watson but Watson starting fading to the back corner giving Simmons the angle. You have to cut that to the front pylon cutting off Simmons angle.

I know that is a bad decision by Mahomes but Watson can't fade away to the corner on that crosser. He has to cut to the front pylon there and cut off Simmons angle.

We still struggle with third and short. Townsend still struggling with handling the ball. Skyy Moore not seeing the field nearly enough these past couple weeks. Still early hope this doesn't turn into a dog fight.

He is here at least for one more year. Depending on what we do in FA I could see us drafting another S relatively high. Don't think we will bring Thornhill back unless he just dominates down the stretch.

Was disappointed we never got in on that trade for Minkah. Didn't they get him for a 2nd rounder iirc.

He is going to have to wait for the Sean Payton sweepstakes. I honestly think it'll be Denver or bust because that job isn't going to coveted by anyone but if he wants a shot then that might be his best shot. We could sure use those 2 3rd round picks though, so hoping he finds one this cycle.

Woolen made an incredible recovery on that throw. I don't blame Watson for that one. I blame him for the other two that he just dropped. I hope we see more Skyy and less Watson these last two games leading to the playoffs. Moore and Toney are very elusive.

Overall good game. No major injuries, the defense came to play, and the O did enough. How many drives were killed because of drops? 3 or 4? Justin Watson had a brutal game and Kelce missed an easy one. I think those get cleaned up and even in 30 degree temps those are probably hauled in. Butker made his kicks and the dline looked possessed today. Heard Spags actually mirrored DK with Sneed which isn't something he does much or at all. Overall we got out with a good W and no major injuries. On to Denver!

I agree with this strategy and approach. Drafting and player development are super important for this model to work. I think we have drafted pretty well overall, but our player development outside of the secondary has been suspect. Not sure our defensive scheme is as relevant as it was 20 years ago. Same can be said for the Oline as well.

There was no option for that on overthecap.com. So I just cut him outright in 2023. We start with 28million in space and the Clark cut saves 19.6 million so while 9 million sucks we would eat it next year and then finally be rid of the Clark deal.
