  1. On ticky tack calls to boot. Guess they gotta keep this game close.
  2. That unsportsmanlike penalty was so pathetic. Didn't matter because Pacheco out there trying to truck defenders. Crazy drive but burning clock and keeping there D out of the field longer and their O off the field.
  3. This D is playing their hearts out this half. Wow. Great game plan. I mean its frustrating that Clark and Co couldn't finish that but our seconary has stepped up this quarter. Super impressed!
  4. I'm shocked he didn't get the first he had a lot of real estate. Looked like he was just short though. Probably worth the TO though.
  5. I'm not even sure when Niang gets back if he will get a shot unless Wylie gets injured. That is unacceptable in that situation. We have a chance to extend our lead and if nothing else get to half up 7-3. You get bull rushed right into the pocket.
  6. Wylie.... Guy has heart and has played above expectations but he is an elite backup. I really hope Niang can elevate that position by the end of the season.
  7. He absolutely is. Really impressed with his play. We have 3 legit LB's on this squad. Not sure what to make of Chenal. He looks really lost out there.
  8. Our D is playing really well. Great start by both sides of the ball.
  9. Wow! Mahomes buying time. Juju with a great second effort TD reception! Lets go!
  10. I think Khalen is better at every facet of the game. Should start over Nnadi
  11. Why does Reid cheat like that knowing Allen is a willing running. Had he contained the end Allen probably doesn’t get there with Karlaftis closing fast. I mean it’s situational football. Chenal is not even close to being ready. Biggest difference is Allen has wide open wrs (no one within 5-7 yards) while Mahomes is actually having to create. Still we are playing rough with a ton out. Let’s go!
  12. The biggest drawback would the haul it would take to get him. It would take our 1st and at least another day 2 pick.
  13. CJ is signed for this year and next. He will be 30 then. Burns is 24. I do understand their is risks so if we don't (and we probably won't) I won't be upset. Just seems like an opportunity to upgrade.
  14. It's always a risk but we would have him this year and then next year on his 5th year option and then a two tag years. He's coming off back to back 9 sack years and has 4 already this year. He has the 2nd highest win rate on third down last year. He is only 24. If you are going to take a gamble take it on a kid like this. He is a difference maker and pairing him with CJ and Karlaftis makes this entire D a lot better.
  15. I hope JJ balls out second half. With wr contracts being handed out that is an easy 4th or 5th and possibly 3rd if he really has a strong showing in the playoffs. Hurts to lose him but a 3 million investment for a mid round pick ain't bad.
  16. Long term plan? The long term plan is to add a guy capable of doing what Burns can do. Problem is doing that at 28-32 in the draft is ridiculously hard. Waiting for FA is also a crap shoot because guys like Burns at his age rarely ever make it to FA. I don't love giving up draft picks to then sign them to a long term deal but our D is a stud DE away from taking a big jump. Spags D hinges on the front 4 getting pressure. Waiting for another rookie or aging vet to provide that wastes another year of CJ in the middle. I know many don't want OBJ back but we still have the tag to secure that spot one more year which means the final two big holes are WR and RT. We have some RT options on the roster and we still have Moore, MVS, and Kelce next year so the cupboard isn't completely barren. DE is the one glaring hole. Frank will be gone and so will Dunlap. Karlaftis up to this point is a hustle and effort guy but has yet to show he can be that focal point on D for opponents and still get the job done. He is a piece and an upgrade over what we had but we are wasting CJ's career and while this was suppose to be a rebuild year sitting on our hands right now wastes another year of Mahomes career and possibly golden opportunity for a SB. I generally feel the same as you do AFC about trading picks and signing long term deals but Burns is a really young and ascending player. With all that said if we don't do it I won't lose any sleep.
  17. Agree. We aren't even half way through the season. The chemistry isn't there yet with who we have. DE is by far a more pressing need for this team. If we could add Burns with that 1st this D could take a huge step forward and our O which is already putting up close to 30 pts per game won't have to be so potent.
  18. Its pretty obvious for a Chiefs fan that Mahomes trusts MVS the most out of his WRs. Juju is coming along but I'll be honest its been a mixed bag. You truly can't focus in on stopping one guy. All of them contribute and seem to make plays when they need to, minus a few drops sprinkled in.
  19. That is one area the Bills have been throwing numbers at for a couple years now the DE position and they still had to go out and sign Von Miller. Their Dline is super deep but DE is the one position I wouldn't mind Veach taking another swing in FA or via trade to try and fix. I know we are hosting the draft but getting a guy like Burns from the Panthers would a huge steal. Veach has shown that he can identify a position and fix most from the 2nd round back. Our secondary is young but looks very promising and as long as we solidfy one OT position we can scheme around one avg one. DE is the biggest need on this team imo. Mahomes is showing that he can hang 40 with a group of wr that are #2 caliber and without a ton of chemistry. He can make it work offensively.
  20. This is the real litmus test for the Chiefs. The Bills went all in on this year and it shows. They are a great team and on paper they are a good bit better than us. If the Chiefs can be blown out this is the team that can do it. However, we generally show up for these types of games and if Andy has a great game plan coming in then we can beat these guys like any other team. If we lose I hope we play well and disciplined and its a close game. Losing close to a really good team isn't the end of the world. I believe our team will be significantly better come playoff time (barring injuries) and a lose would put a chip on our shoulder. With all that said I think we find a way to win this game like Mahomes so magically and improbably does.
  21. Everyone else went all in and we stepped back to load up for the future. Crazy part is we are still one of the best in the league. We still haven't peeked with all the new guys and young guys out.
  22. He is pretty honest about the Chiefs. Not saying he knows everything but I think his points are valid. We have a large run blocking line and we don't utilize their strengths nearly enough. Maybe that is because our running backs aren't amazing or maybe Mahomes doesn't like that sort of game plan or Reid is stubborn and wants to pass at a 75/25 clip. Who knows but I don't think his opinion is meritless. If you go back over Reids tenure here when he has made a concerted effort to smash mouth run or just run the ball our team plays better.
  23. I've heard that stat before which makes it more maddening the fact we rarely utilize it.
