  1. Wasn't thrilled when we drafted him but I am so glad I was dead wrong. Dude is a machine! So glad we drafted him now!
  2. We also would have had 4 minutes to catch up. Being up by one changed our mentality that last drive it was more about ball security and taking care of the ball. Way less aggressive. No way we call those plays down 1 with 4 minutes. But i agree, gotta have someone who can make 30-40 yarders consistently.
  3. Sneed, McDuffie, Watson, and Williams are the future. Fenton is a slightly above avg guy who got put in the spin cycle so many times by Adams last night. While Watson and Fenton both got flagged for PI, Watson just needs to turn his head and that is perfect coverage. Even the ball Cook got burned on he recovered and was right there. We all knew there were going to be plays like this but outside of Fenton our young guys were fighting and in good positions a lot of the time. That is promising.
  4. Was listening to 4th and 1 podcast and Nick Jacobs was referring to our running scheme as putting our Olineman in unfavorable position that we are built for a gap/power scheme and thats what we did against the Bucs only to revert back to a zone scheme this game. Paraphrasing, he said the play calls allowed the Raiders D to T off on us and gave them an advantage. How many times did they crash down on the back side of a run to stop it for no gain because Mahomes was no threat to run. He also stated that CEH just isn't that effective in our scheme at running and his vision isn't great. Its why we saw such a difference when McKinnon was in. CEH has a role but we aren't using him wisely. Put Mahomes under center more and utilize play action. Guarantee he would get some deep shots if they wouldn't let defenses pin their ears back.
  5. I believe this is the final straw for Niang. If he can't ball out to end the season then its time to move on. On that note though, I'm not sure he even gets a shot. Andy is pretty loyal to his lineman. Generally speaking, I don't mind having a Wylie type tackle but you can only have one on the Oline. Either the LT has to be good and the RT avg or vice versa but you can't have both playing like they did first half last night and get far in January. Brown is capable of being an above avg LT which is what we need. He doesn't have to be elite unless he wants to get paid like one but this team needs him to be above avg. Sucks our biggest holes are all premium positions to fill. RT, LT, & DE in no particular order followed closely by a #1 WR.
  6. Last night was the first time outside of the Chargers game that our tackles looked like well below avg tackles. It isn't going to get any easier either as teams across the nfl have loaded up on pass rushers to stop us.
  7. Hardman possesses elite traits but he is one of the worst wr at tracking a ball. That third down throw was deep and he keeps running across instead of tracking the ball and turning up field by the time he does he has not chance. Not saying the ball was perfect but when you are that fast you should be able to help your qb out more. With that said he played a pretty good game tonight.
  8. That’s good news, hope he doesn’t reinsure the thing. Wouldn’t mind seeing more Skyy this game.
  9. I’ll balance out the optimism. Mahomes is going to struggle………a little. Chiefs win a dog fight.
  10. Um Kelce is locked up until 2025. Locking up a LT now makes more financial sense than waiting for the new tv deals to hit. You think 18 million a year for an above avg LT is expensive now....just wait a year or two. How much are you gonna have to spend to move up and get a starting caliber LT? Probably a 1,2 & 3. That is three players you are trading for someone who may never even be as good as OBJ. I'll take the known commodity when it comes to protecting Mahomes. I'd rather use those 3 picks to grab a WR, DE, & RT. CJ is locked up this year and next. Not sure you will be able to extend him as he will probably want to hit FA again at around 30, nor should we overpay him even though he is an elite player. The truth is this new phase is going to take us to the end of CJ and Kelce's career here in KC. It sucks but you can't build a dynasty holding onto guys when they get long in the tooth. Of the two, Kelce has taken team friendly deals and would be the exception.
  11. I would change that to DE and WR#1. I think OBJ is sufficient. Dude is playing hurt right now. I don't think he is elite or great but he is a top 10-12 LT and if we could pay him like one that would be good enough.
  12. He's this generations version of Tamba Hali. High motor guy that needs a 12 sack guy across from him to become a +10 sack guy. Maybe I'm wrong. I love where we got him in the draft and he is already an upgrade but we really need that "it" guy for Spags D to really shine.
  13. Veach has hit home runs on back to back drafts. He needs to hit on this upcoming draft for the Chiefs to have a really good chance of becoming a dynasty. We have filled and plugged most of the holes on this team with young affordable depth. The key positions next offseason will be WR#1, LT, & DE. All premium position pieces. We could always bring back Brown at the right price which is probably the best options for solidifying our oline for a dynasty run. Where we draft makes finding a stud DE is going to be difficult so that would be the position I might try again via trade. I think we have a better shot at drafting a stud WR at the back end of the first or in the 2nd. Even if all that fails we still have a good chance because we have Mahomes.
  14. That was the first time in a long time that the D (which is really good) knew we were gonna run and we still ran successfully. That run that got called back by the bogus Fortson hold was a thing of beauty.
  15. I don't even know what a valley girl is. Had to google it. The fact you do is kinda creepy. You posted he didn't look sharp. When did he not look sharp? We got up early so he was literally playing from behind the entire game. Also being up 3 scores should make it easier for the D to stop an O because its one dimensional. He still put up almost 400 yards and 3 TDs. I don't know if he is distracted or not but they didn't lose that game because Brady played badly or because he was distracted. They lost because their D couldn't stop anything and they made a ST blunder at the beginning of the game. He played a good game, not sure how that is even debatable.
  16. I know right. Just posted the same thing. We beat down a very good team that played well on O.
  17. How did Brady not look sharp? I thought he played a good game. His D let him down big time. The Bucs went out of their way to talk trash before this game. There is no way they weren't ready to embarrass us. With that said sometimes you get hit in the mouth and can't rebound. Andy has done this more than any other coach to Brady led teams. I was encouraged by the D and relieved when the O got in a groove early and didn't let up. It would have been worse for the Bucs if CEH and MVS and Gray had caught those passes that hit them in their hands. After losing that Indy game this was a must win if we wanted any chance for that bye. Every team in the NFL looks beatable even the Bills. Can't wait to get Gay and McDuffie back to see what this D can really do. Really wish there was a stud DE that we could trade for at the deadline to round out the D but we are strapped and no way Clark allows us to trade a top end draft pick with the draft in KC this year.
  18. We also played prevent starting in the 2nd half. We gave him a lot of those easy passes. Half those drives got carried by non calls or pathetic calls. He is the Goat hands down but the dude throws up more prayers hoping his wr's get away with pushing off or getting penalties than anyone. We have no one outside of Jones that can even remotely get after the qb and while they scored 31....two of those drives were gifts from the refs. I really hope we go all out for a stud DE this offseason. Would love to see what Spags could do with a front 4 like theirs.
  19. What a game. Mahomes goes against a top tier D and shreads them. The D does just enough. What this D would look like with an elite DE would be scary. It is literally the only piece we are truly missing, outside of maybe a shut down corner. I will say Watson got hosed tonight. Every receptions he got pushed off by the wr. He was in good position on every pass and had his head turned around. He is such a steal. While the calls evened out that no Intentional Grounding was bull and so was Juan Thornhills. Evans touched the ball it was bang bang play and Juan went to the chest with the shoulder. Brady gets more drive sustaining calls than anyone I've ever seen by a country mile. Love that we ran all over those cocky turds and even finished the game off with a first down run even though the refs had to call Fortson for the most bogus holding of the year. They knew we were gonna run the ball and we rammed it down their throat anyways. Mahomes looked amazing tonight minus that int (which if you replay it from the qb camera view it shows Juju slowing up/stopping right after the release before he tried to reaccelerate to get to the ball). Looked like a horrible thrown ball but I don't think Mahomes has much chemistry with Juju still. MVS has his attention but drops too many easy balls. Speaking of drops. We score 50 tonight easy if CEH doesn't drop that ball, MVS doesn't drop that easy one, and Gray make his catch. I guess that is to be expected for a corp of almost all new wr's through 4 games. I do think WR #1 will be a priority this offseason to pair with Moore and Kelce for the next couple years. Finally, the Oline looked like the line we had hoped. There were some hiccups mainly by the usual suspects but over all we were balanced and humiliated this D. Crazy to think if we beat Oakland we will be 4-1 to start the year something even the most die hard fans would have been thrilled with this summer. Great bounce back game on the road. Now lets go destroy the Raiders and make Davante Adams wish he would have never left GB.
  20. Like Reese said. Everyone needs to calm down. The Bills lost last week and they sold the farm to field a team that could……wait for it……beat us. Some of you thinking we are drafting top 10 are crazy. Top 20 is crazy too. We chose to soft rebuild this year and still have a chance to win it all. That’s good team management. Some stuff needs to get cleaned up but we avoided a massive error in Brown and we have 5 wrs that are auditioning for another contract. We will have cap to go get a #1 in the off-season if things turn out bad. We have plenty of draft picks to fill holes on this team and we still have the best player in the NFL. We are just getting started. If this defense develops into a top 12 unit this year we are already ahead of schedule. Time will ultimately tell if this season is lost but one ugly fluky loss isn’t the nail in the coffin.
  21. I'm not sure if Mahomes can become that qb. I'm not sure we want him too but he really pushes against that dink and dunk style. He could dominate doing it but he is so talented, I think he knows he should and will for small spurts and but it is against his football dna. Seems like we are seeing 2021 all over again. Offense who can score 40 at times but then have games like today that are putrid.
  22. I think the entire staff has become complacent. Were are in year 2 struggling with what NFL defenses do in prevent and it's working to some degree. We have Mahomes and Kelce. EB should have been gone two years ago but the longer this plays out the more
  23. Its year 3. I know he's dealt with injuries but Kareem Hunt was miles ahead in his first year as a rookie. CEH and Hardman are JAGS. I'm sure there are players that turn it on after three years in the L but both of these guys aren't sitting behind someone hidden in the shadows they have had more than enough run to get a clear picture of what they are. Its sad because I was pumped for both of them coming out but the proof is in the pudding. Would love to be wrong though.
  24. Can't remember where I saw it but Mahomes is pointing to one of two huge holes on that play and CEH lost yardage. Jamaal Charles would be a legit MVP candidate on this O with those sized lanes. I don't have anything against CEH. He seems like a wonderful guy but a good rb should be feasting in this O.
