As long as it gets done to could towards the compensation formula then I'm satisfied. If he does end up in Philly he gonna think the KC fans are saints compared.
Surprised more aren’t going with Reggie White/ LT. I know Donald is amazing but White and Taylor were terrors and consisted by many to be the best defensive players ever. I’d probably go white. Less drama and off field baggage.
Sadly I agree. Wish HB hadn't lost a step but he has. He can claim in on business decisions (which there were a ton) but I believe even Spags moved him out of that spy/robber roll more this last year because of that. Love his leadership but its time to pull the plug.
Interesting. Would love to have him back for the right price. He was a big upgrade for us last year but that is pretty sad in all honesty. His stats were very pedestrian, but because it was so bad before him it felt like we gained a pro bowler at edge. I wonder if Veach and Co feel the same. Seems like they are sticking to their guns in FA. They have a price point and if it doesn't work out they aren't budging.
I don't think he wanted Justin Fields and then got forced to play him. The GM basically neutered him in a room full of alphas. Nobody regains respect form a lockerroom after that kind of crap. Not to say Nagy doesn't deserve that rap or that he is a great guy/coach, but that situation up there is/was pathetic.
He looked good down the stretch. If you watch the film he was open quite a bit and either Mahomes didn't see him or ignored him. This is coming from a guy who doesn't like Hardman. I'm not saying he is worth a lot but he does have value. His speed alone is enticing. I would think a 4th or end of the 3rd round would be fair.
I mean Christian Kirk's stats are very similar and the dude got paid. I'm not saying Mecole is Kirk but he isn't way far off and he was the main target when DH went down last year. Mecole has never been the #1 option for any period.
I do think he is more valuable to us than another team. He is a deep threat and he is entering year 4 with the Chiefs. He is also cheap.
I think he has more value to others than to our fan base. His numbers last year aren’t bad as the third option. The tape will show him open more than we think. I think Mahomes doesn’t trust him or his numbers would be better. The last 4 games of the season he looked better. I’m not saying teams see him as a #1 or #2 but he is a weapon. I personally don’t want to see him included. His speed and MVS’s speed give us two deep options and we need at least two.
If we trade up, imo, it has to be for edge unless it is to jump GB with a lesser package.
I also am curious who they see as their #1 wr. Seems like the Garrett Wilson report and possibly the Pickens invite might be smoke. Could it be those guys or are so they like Burks or Olive. I wouldn’t mind any of those too guys but I worry that we reach for Watson’s athleticism. Guy is super raw and drops a ton of balls and runs a limited route tree……..love his potential but that is way to risky for me.
I don’t agree with the articles premise, specifically the third paragraph. It states trade away a majority of those picks. Value wise we traded the first and two four rounders for DK. DK has one affordable year before an extension would kick in. We either pay for one of the best now or keep letting lesser wrs reset the market and we are forced to pay in the 30s. We would still have 4 picks in the top 100. But like some of y’all have said if they turned down the 10th pick those picks aren’t worth anything.
The issue we have is the best course is draft two guys but those guys tend to struggle year one but that would be the best long term course.
There are going to be some studs in this draft. As good as Jameson is he isn’t on the level of Chase. You have to get a bigger overall perspective of multiple drafts. This is a good and deep draft. Draft multiple key contributors and double up on wr and de. There are far too many studs in the NFL drafted in rounds 2-3 to be trading two premium picks in this draft to move up. Love Jameson. I’m a huge Bama fan and the guy is a stud but he doesn’t remotely have the quick acceleration and agility of Tyreek. He is a thinner framed wr as well. I think being patient will pay off. I’m also not sure Pickens won’t be but as productive and could be had at 29/30. Just my two cents.
We have the hardest schedule and you are right we need players ready to step in and play the first two rounds. Wr typically struggle their first year in Reid’s system and Mahomes made it known he would like a veteran wr added and that was before Hill left. Be interesting to see who they grab. A first round wr that pans out would be great though with that 5th year option.
Is there that much difference in this wr crop from 1-5? All seem pretty similar in their ceiling. None are in J. Chase tier so trading two firsts and a fourth to pick up a wr seems like a lot. If he doesn’t turn into a pro bowl upper echelon wr then that was a big miss. And like others said that is a lot of investment not put into the dline. If a top end edge falls then maybe.
We would have to give #29 and probably 62 and 103 for both and that might not be enough. I'd be willing to do that though. Both are cheap on rookie deals and we would still have 30, 50, 94, 121, and 135. We fill a huge hole with a young ascending stud and add another talent to the wr room.
He made a wise decision. We won't know if Olave and Wilson are better or if the OSU coaches wouldn't let the kid eat for a few seasons. All three are talented guys and I would be happy with any of the three.
