Oh I bet Kelce gets all the attention and doubles but instead of teams being able to double him and Hill there are 3-4 other guys that can win 1v1. Our top end isn't as good but our avg is way way better. I'm curious about Gordon too. Not saying he will be a 1000 yard guy or anything but if he can get caught up to the speed with this offseason he could be another weapon as the 4-5 wr.

Not having a back last year fast enough to explode through those massive holes before the closed was a huge missed opportunity. Not as much as that #2 wr but CEH is really slow. He wins occasionally on those patient runs but I think those are far less probably in the normal flow of the game. McKinnon made it abundantly clear we have to have a guy that can get to the edge and burst through those massive holes that our Oline opened. I also wonder if we aren't philosophically changing on O. Last year we went away from fast agile quick Olineman to more mauling type players and this offseason we signed two bigger wr's when Reid normally went after smaller quicker wrs. I'm excited about the rest of the offseason, draft and upcoming season.

I honestly think both teams can win on this trade. The Dolphins add another weapon to their stable of threats to help Tua. We get the cap relief and a ton of pics to retool around Mahomes.

I agree but from the reports they weren’t willing to go that high. All I was suggesting was if they Clark wasn’t on the books they might have been inclined to bump the money to top paid we. You are right that if Hill wanted out then nothing we offered would have worked. At the end of the day Hill might have done us a big favor by only caring about the money.

Well this historically well run org did the same a few years ago with Frank Clark so...... I don't ever have a problem with paying an elite player what they are worth. I think the problem is trading picks and paying through the nose. Its like double paying. Frank Clark far more than Mahomes is one reason we didn't feel comfortable signing Hill. Hope Veach learned his lesson and it looks like he did.

Wyatt next to Jones would be awesome. I would love for him to be our first round pick. I know we need DE, and probably WR and DB but having that interior would be a nightmare for offenses.

Keep adding until we field a competent LB corp. We have two but need a few more for depth.

It doesn't have the top end but the floor is definitely way higher. Interesting it seems like we might be shifting away from short and smaller shifty wr's to bigger wr's.

I understand the business side of things and maybe this is something that neither side wanted originally but may end up being a blessing in disguise. For me it is a little unnerving. Mahomes is amazing for sure but there are things that Hill can do that no one else has ever been able to do. That house call vs the Bills in the playoffs off a normal MOF catch is something only he can do because of that acceleration and speed. Mecole as fast as he is can't do that imo. With that said, the Patriots did this sort of thing often and always reloaded and they drafted like crap a lot of those years. They just knew how to develop guys and turned a lot of UDFA's and low key FA signings into something special. I think Andy and crew can do the same thing.

Technically its a 3/75m deal for Hill. That is 25m per year in real numbers. But I agree the next guy will want the appearance of a 31 million per deal.

Obviously makes more sense knowing they didn't offer that. I'm happy with what we got. Hate losing Hill but if we had to know at least we got a decent haul and got a lot of cap relief.

Looks like we are trying to trade for Laviska Shenault from the Jags. He would help replace some of Tyreek snaps.

Bill would have signed a RT like Collins and found a duna KC i back while adding shuster . Then he would have pounded the brains out of any defense that dropped 8 in coverage. Until they came out of it he wouldn’t hesitate to pound the rock. Reid won’t change gears and he is an awesome coach but to be one of the greatest you have to pivot and remake yourself. We won a SB and would have won another had Eric and Mitchell not gotten hurt. This window was going to close at some point soon anyways. Probably wasn’t planning on it this off-season but with how the rest of the west and afc have lost their minds it might be the best year to soft rebuild ( because with Mahomes we are never really out of it) and catch them paying old vets overpriced salaries for less production. Biggest catch is can Veach reload this team with talent in this draft at premium positions. Only time will tell. Gonna be a fun draft though!

And at the end of the day it’s really a 3/67 million dollar deal so like 22.5ish per. Feels like something is not tight within the organization. Gotta believe Mahomes was in the loop here…or was he. Was their some truth to the EB/Mahomes drama. I found it strange Mahomes never (to my knowledge) come out and refute the allegations that were made about EB. I also can’t fathom why we didn’t take the Jets #10 and whatever else they were offering. That pick alone is more than the entirety of the Dolphins haul plus that team is far closer to competing with us than the Jets. 🤷‍♂️

According to some reports the Jets offered the 10th and extra. That pick is probably worth all the Dolphins picks so even if it was a 3rd or 4th that Gail would have been better and we would have gotten a DE that could probably start day 1. Not sure now.

Yeah I'm sure he want to play for the organization that just crapped on a black coach and has been a dumpster fire the better part of well forever. Mahomes isn't that kind of guy anyways. I'm not doubting these so called qbs in the nfl are speculating but they have no inside info just their speculation. I can even understand it but again. He has it made here. Is an owner, has a great coach, and the team is still in a good place (not amazing but good). EB might be an issue but he won't be here after this year. Honestly this has a Patriots/BB kind of deal. One were you think how can Tom and Bill be better next year letting good players walk and then they just plug in the next guys and win. Reid is capable on the offensive side of the ball to figure it out. Also glad it got done now with plenty of time before the draft to course correct this offseason.
