  1. It’s over. Their window has already shut, but they got a ring.
  2. In the next 20 years I think there will be a international NFL team. Don’t love it but it’s a business.
  3. I would take Eli more seriously if there wasn’t plenty of screen shots of Mahomes missing wide open players and a few TD balls to Mecole. Mahomes played a bad half and our coaching staff was too stupid to show up and help. Im not so sure EB isn’t biding his time to be the HC here. Easy to go into job interviews and demand the world knowing if you don’t get what you want you get daddy’s Bentley when he retires or chokes on a cheeseburger. Andy needs some fresh blood and new insights on offense.
  4. I may differ from you guys. We all know Andy is calling the plays or does when it matters. The NFL awards teams draft picks for minority HCs. Why are we worried if he comes back. He will eventually get a HC job. Next year a 1/3 of the idiots hired will bomb and this will be a topic once again. If he gets hired next year we get two thirds. If he gets hired this year we only get 1 because we would have gotten 2 from Ryan Poles hiring. EB doesn’t hurt this team and while I think there are honest concerns about him being a HC there are just as many and most times more with almost all of the hires already made.
  5. I just tired of week in and week out hearing about the Oline we were going up against and how they were missing guys and our guys should feast and then back ups stone walling our guys and our higher paid guys not getting home. I think Chris Jones has to be put in better situations and maybe that means getting two legit edge rushers to pair with him so qbs have no where to escape when he collapses the pocket. I know Melvin was a huge ungraded but I’m curious if he was so dominant or we were so used to really bad DE play than an avg DE looked really good to us. One thing I’m happy with is Veachs focus on fixing the Dline. So that will definitely help Spags by having some younger more talented guys but then we have to wonder if he will play those guys instead of washed out less talented guys that merely know his system better. Time will tell. Outside of HB the dead weight that needs to be cut probably can’t make us any worse and will in most likelihood made us better. Fingers crossed!
  6. Spags hasn’t done anything to be fired but his scheme is getting old and for those wondering what he could do with different players remember Frank is a Spags player. Hitchens is a huge Spags guy. Spags made personnel calls to keep less talented guys off the field in favor of more cerebral and leas talented guys. My issue is we have an opportunity to lock up some guys long term and Spags isn’t young. We lock a lot of guys that are pretty Spags scheme specific and see no results the we are potentially flushing multiple years down the drain. The goal for the D shouldn’t be “good enough” or “complimentary d” but “top end D”. Spags had big money guys, a healthy d, and his guys and the D was pretty avg. I’m not sure I have a lot of faith he can do more next year with less. D doesn’t seem really passionate. Like I said he wasn’t terrible by any stretch and shouldn’t be fired but I was hoping he would retire and we could get someone like Vic Fangio.
  7. Mahomes is gonna have to be the agent of change here. He is going to have to be the guy that calls for more running plays. Not sure he is to that point in his career. He is mature for his age but if he wants to be the goat he has to acknowledge it and demand it. Brady would run it on every play if it meant winning. That’s why he is the goat. I just home they figure it out soon or they will be looking back on multiple missed SB opportunities and more than likely the difference in being the goat and being an all timer.
  8. We are a fg away from Mahomes going to 3 out of 4. Y’all think that window is over? Dude is just getting started. This was a rebuild/retool year and it took COVID to screw the cap and prohibit us from adding a legit to pair with Mahomes (we tried). Juju screwed up last off-season and would have made himself a crap ton of money here with what we faced and needing a player just like him. Future is bright! Mahomes is a different cat. This will eat at him all off season and he will be so much better for this season in the long run!
  9. Talent wise ….yes. Mahomes by far has a better head on his shoulders. He’s done far more at a younger age. This was a crash course year. Sure he reverted back to some bad habits but overall he demolished 2 deep defenses. This 8 man wrinkle is another chapter in his progression. He will figure it out, mature as a human (he is still 26). He could even be the goat if he his coach would push him and protect him from himself. In all actuality, we act like Mahomes is the 20 year vet sometimes and the HC has 5 years experience. The fact Andy wouldn’t adjust or call plays to help his frustrated/rattled qb is fireable for anyone not as good generally speaking as Andy.
  10. As a fan I hated that, but as a fellow father and provider I do understand that.
  11. I walked out of the BWW when they got the int. Seen it too many times and couldn’t bare to watch any longer. I felt sick and as much as I told myself that it was just a game and I was silly to feel so sick over a game…..it didn’t change a thing. I’m so passionate about that Chiefs losses like these just hurt so bad!
  12. Did you read Jason Whitlocks article. About Mahomes talent and how talented players rarely become obsessed with details like the Brady’s do. Guys who aren’t as talented but take preparation to another level. Brady would hand it off 100% of the time if it meant they win. I hope Mahomes learns this earlier than later because with his ability he is one of the few capable of reaching goat status. Not sure he will get there but he has the tools and ability.
  13. It was hard to watch our all world qb in a mental funk and the coaching staff not calling some runs to get him back in the groove. As quickly as he gets in those funks sometimes he can get out with a throw. Why not run some and play action. Maybe Mahomes will advocate for that. You know he will see the obvious when he rewatch a the tape. He will see his misses but how we have to run in those moments.
  14. I think it’s going to take Mahomes recognizing the need for it for Andy to change.
  15. He is human. No QB has ever faced this pressure or scrutiny 5 years in. Brady was a game manager on a dynasty team after 5 years making a run at his peer Peyton. It wasn’t until he was in the league 10 plus years that the GOAT talk started really taking serious roots. Andy trusted him in the first half and it back fired. Go back and watch that first posession of the 2nd half. Hill and Kelce got held on those drops. And because of the number of tipped TOs he got rattled by the ints. Reid and EB should has recognized things weren’t quite right and leaned on the running game for a possession with maybe a play action pass to get him back in the groove. He is still a young qb. I get that they trusted the kid and thought he would snap back out of it but it back fired. All that and we still drive it down to the 5 yard line with a chance to win and Pat got nervous and didn’t rifle it in to Kelce or Pringle and Reid didn’t call 3 run plays to punch it in. It was a challenging year for Mahomes. He had a bad half. He also made himself into a different style qb on the fly mid season, something most qbs take years to do. He will get it figured out and we will witness something special next year!
  16. The Bengals played their normal two deep safety looks in the first half on purpose to adjust at half and not give the Chiefs the ability to adjust to their adjustment. They did the same in the first game. Instead of adjusting during the first half they rode it out and then made the changes with dropping 8 guys in coverage far more frequently. No one goes as crazy or exotic or off script as dc’s facing our O. That should tell us the level of fear and respect they have for us. Mahomes is getting a crash course in his first 4 years that probably take most qbs a decade to see. He is going to be better for this in the long run. Get him another weapon, reload some young talent in the draft and cut some dead weight and we are going to dominate next year. This was our ugly, bad, down year and we made the AFCCG and should have won. This team has a bright future. One bad half isn’t going to close out window!
  17. I don’t think they had to be perfect, except vs Indy. Indy was the beat overall team. This loss hurts pretty bad though because we had the team that could have won. We have a team that has the potential to boat race any team in the L. Dang that loss sucked!
  18. I could have completely misread his presser but it came across like a guy whose organization hasn’t offered him much more than lip service. I love his heart and he seems to be an incredible guy. I think resigning him for top safety money which is what, ~15 million per is a mistake. I don’t think you can pay a player on defense that much unless they can frequently make game changing plays. If teams can easily avoid him then his biggest asset is getting guys set so we would be repeating the Hitchens debacle. Maybe there is enough money but maybe it’s time to move on.
  19. We are going to be better next year barring injuries. In all honesty this year should have been a rebuilding year with that entirely new offensive line but we were so good we figured it out and how to become a whole new offense in the middle of football year and made it to the AFCCG. It stings because how it ended and the loss of a great chance to lift another Lombardi trophy. We will be back better. To me the No Punt game was worse. That offense and team could have won the SB.
  20. Pat needed Andy to be the HC and help him out. After that pick, we needed to run the ball and allow Mahomes to settle back down. You could visibly tell he was off and not quite right. At the end of the game they showed an angle of the endzone. We are on the 5 yard line and there was 5 wrs and like 7 Bengals defenses in the endzone. There was no were to run or get open and our wrs were dancing around and there was nothing for Mahomes. It was a dumb call. Line up in the I with big personal and Kelce and Hill. Force them in and if you must pass there is more space for Hill or Kelce to get open. Better yet try and power it in for the win.
  21. I agree there is no proof, but he is not calling out Sandy for Abandoning the Run either. Yes men are just as much to blame. If everyone and their dog knows we need to run on these light boxes and we keep forcing it down field……..surely those guys know it too.
  22. I think it’s awesome we for to 4 straight AFC championship games. It is an accomplishment to celebrate but at the end of the day this is a dynasty caliber roster that will be judged by SB appearances and wins. We are never guaranteed to be back here again….and we were a fg before half or a couple runs at the end of the 2nd half away from getting back to the SB with a roster capable of winning in. It is a missed opportunity and it is something that has followed Andy Reid his whole career. We were running the ball incredibly setting up short yardage 2nd and 3rd downs and then we abandoned it. They dared us to run and we tried to throw it down against 8 defenders. One thing I hated but respected about the Pats is BB would do whatever it took to win. Meaning he would run it 100 times if that gave him the best chance to win. They took what the D gave them and won. If you are trying to win SBs and track down the GOATS in this league you cannot miss opportunities like this. We didn’t lose to a better team we gift wrapped this win for them because of mental mistakes, errors, and stubbornness. Tough loss!
  23. I watched the replay of Mahomes we he fumbled and we almost ran out of time. None of the WR could get open. They ran into each other’s spaces snd some just stopped running. Hard to complete something when it’s so congested. Had we run on 2nd and goal we would have at worst gained nothing and had 3rd and 4. I believe we woulD have gained two and that opens up a ton of plays on 3rd and goal from the two. Finally, we don’t run routes like other teams and throw bigger guys open. The down side to having smaller wrs. We don’t run slants either. Just a maddening performance. And after that first three and our after half I got that feeling like I’ve had rhe past 30 years as a Chiefs fan. When you know it’s coming but refuse to acknowledge it. We won the coin toss and couldn’t. Covert one first down. Two balls to DRob and a deep double covered Hill on 3rd. Im at a loss. Missed opportunity for Mahomes and crew. Aren’t guaranteed getting here and being up 21-3 is inexcusable. I don’t care if they fire Spags and EB. Both aren’t good.
  24. A fg before half and we survive. A simple fg and we survive that horrible second half.
  25. No he should not be fired. He is so good. He just seems to get in his own way sometimes.
