  1. I keep going back to the fact that we had a limit to what we were going to pay Tyreek Hill. I can't see us paying anyone other than maybe JJ that kind of money especially considering we would have to cough up a first round pick. Cost controlled draft picks are the life blood of this window we are currently in. When you think of it like that trading a first and 20 plus million for a player like Aiyuk who is very good but not even remotely elite is bad business. There will be a solid vet for cheap that will elevate the wr room not counting who we draft. Our O will be considerably better than last year.
  2. He is the epitome of a championship core player. He isn't a superstar but its a lockerroom of guys like these that make winning a 3peat possible. Pumped he is back on that contract. Now lets get some LT comp in here and a veteran DB and roll into the Draft BPA!
  3. 100% He is only going to get better. Had 5 sacks two years ago and 6.5 last year. Wouldn't surprise me if he had 7-7.5 this year. He will never be elite but he is an above avg versatile player that we need in light of Omenihu's injury. It fills a position of need and solidifies that Dline before the draft. Also gives us options in the event that FAU is a bust. What positions do we "HAVE" to fill before the draft now? Maybe LT, another WR, Vet DB, RB #3, IOL backup, and maybe vet IDL? None of those outside of LT are musts. This roster is coming together nicely. Also saw a rumor that the Chiefs were interested in X. Howard. He has the name and history, did he fall off a cliff last year?
  4. Glad he is back as well but I don't think that price is bad at all. Probably gonna be 4-5 this year and around 10 next year. Fills a hole with a versatile and young player for 2 years and still gives us flexibility.
  5. There are still plenty of good FA's on the market that could help this team. None of which are must haves, not even Danna. Don't get me wrong Danna would be extremely helpful but we can find similar production from a guy like Ogbah, Lawson, Green, Smoot. Again not dogging Danna but he isn't some game changer. The longer we wait the better deal we get and there are still options available so we can afford to wait. This doesn't even count roster cuts and potential trade targets after the draft.
  6. At this point, why not wait until after the draft. Price will be driven down and we don't need any major positions outside of LT, WR and some depth.
  7. Well no one did die so I don't think he gets cut because of a hypothetical situation. He will get charged and probably get probation and be put on a short leash. The NFL will make an example of him and give him a lengthy suspension (6-8 games). They didn't cut Frank Clark for gun possession felony. They didn't cut Gay for a Domestic Violence issue. Doubt they cut Rashee for being an idiot and racing his car. Yes if he had seriously hurt someone then maybe they cut him but he didn't so I doubt they will unless more damning info comes out.
  8. My guess is he will be on a short short leash. Can't imagine him getting cut when no one was seriously hurt. We are looking at a lengthy suspension though (think they are going to make an example out of him). I'm not sure this changes our draft plans any though. Easier to find another wr still out in FA than a LT, same for the draft. Could be way off base but unless more damning info comes out I don't think he is getting cut.
  9. Could be a potential tackle but easily slide into guard. Like those kind of picks. I know its a pipe dream but would be awesome if Byron Murphy dropped to 32 but there are a couple penetrating type DT in this draft. Newton, Ruke, Darius (tweener), and Mike Hall Jr (who I think might fall but if Cullen could get his potential that could be the steal of the draft).
  10. Could see us drafting someone in the 3-5 rounds at IOL. I also don't like the idea of moving Thuney. Our LT will need his help there assuming we draft a LT. Also I think Mahomes can avoid exterior pressure better than interior pressure.
  11. Which is why I'm prepared for either of those two to be the pick at 32. 100% agree finding a good LT won't easy. From a cost standpoint, it might be the only position that makes sense to move up a good bit in the first and secure one that you think will be your future LT. Having a cost controlled LT for 5 years is incredibly valuable financially.
  12. I'm fully prepared for us drafting a LT in the first or even moving up to grabbing one and it being someone like Morgan or Paul lol. All kidding aside, I do think LT, OG, WR, DT could very well be our top 4 picks in no particular order. Finding a long term solution at LT would be huge for this team. I know this draft is loaded with wrs but that position can be filled much easier than finding a cost controlled LT for the next 5 years.
  13. We were never getting a high pick when it came out that Sneed wanted +22 million a year. When it was leaked the turned down a 4/80 then I figured a 3rd was what we were getting. Only thing now is what will Veach do with 20 more million this year.
  14. Not really. Sneed screwed getting much of anything with his crazy demands.
  15. Not gonna lie, wasn't all that upset. Mike was a good FA signing but he and Bolton got picked on a lot down the stretch.
  16. No reason to rush. Is there anyone left in FA that we just have to have? At this point let the 2nd wave of FA play out. He will probably get traded right before the draft and if not then Veach can restructure Taylor afterwards to grab the remaining guys he wants in the 3rd wave and cuts. This is also Sneed knowing he has time to ask for the moon. He seems more than happy to play on the tag if need be to return to the Chiefs so if he has to go he wants it to be worth it. Bet this gets done the week leading up to the draft.
  17. Not sure about Thomas but the two rbs for sure.
  18. Brown's camp said the market wasn't to their liking. Definitely a compromise from both sides. He gets the ability to play with Pat and raise his value and cash in next year and we get a chance to get a big time upgrade for a great price. He wasn't going to sign a long term deal near this value.
  19. This is an intriguing options. Hate to screw around with Taylor after last year though, but out of all our realistic options this would be nice. Brown is a good RT. Crazy to think we still haven't gotten the tackle situation figured out since Fisher and Schwartz.
  20. That article was written Dec 12. He got wrecked later that month. He has potential but I do not think for a second they are trying to three-peat with no other option at LT. Would be huge if he was the future LT, but I think he needs another year at least to win that job. Maybe they bring back Donovan back for another run but I don't know about you but I'm tired of all penalties that guy racks up. Would you be upset if they moved up in the first to grab a LT like Amarius Mims? I see the Bengals drafting him in a ton of mocks. We would have to move up to pick 17. That would cost us our first, 2nd and probably a 4th and mid round 2025. Use both of our 3rds to move back into the 2nd for a wr. Lot of draft capital for 2 guys especially with the way Veach has been drafting lately. Getting a potential All Pro at LT for a decade might be worth it though. So many scenarios.
  21. Its always possible a guy falls but it looks like no mans land at 32 for a LT. All the guys graded out as first rounders will be gone and at that point it seems like a reach to draft the next tier. Heard they had interest in Patrick Paul out of Houston but 32 seems high for him (he is also 24). I wouldn't mind him mind him in mid 2nd though. I could see Veach reaching for a LT though there with the wr being deep and waiting until the end of the 2nd for a wr. Would make more sense if we added another FA wr though. Here is hoping to Sneed netting a pick better than 82.
  22. I guess I could have added a 4. Resign Sneed, add a LT, WR and then draft to fill needs (knowing we prob lose Bolton next year).
  23. The longer this stretches out the more anxious some of these FA's are going to get. The draft is loaded with wr talent and if some wait until after the draft (some will have too) then they won't be getting much more than the vet minimum. I don't think teams are in a hurry to sign almost 30 year old FA vets to significant deals with this draft. We should be able to get a very serviceable guy for a great deal. A guy like Josh Reynolds would be nice to add to raise the floor. I don't think they want Toney's mental antics around the team but they probably don't want to eat that money and watch him play for a rival either. Moore is sunk cost. Sure he could be the outlier and blossom in year three but if he couldn't do anything with our wr room last year than what is to say he can beat out a better wr room. I'm with you Warpaint, Brown, Rice, Draft, FA Vet, Draft , and (Let Watson, Toney, Moore, Remigio, and Ross fight it out for the final spot). At some point we have to invest enough in the room via the draft that Mahomes has 3-4 years with the same guys on cheaper deals.
  24. So with Brown under contract it looks like our cap will be in the 8 million range. Not much room to sign the draft class and add another quality player. I know they can restructure Taylor and Thuney to make more money but unless Sneed gets traded we are what we are this point. Honestly, I'm pretty stoked. We, at this moment, have the core of our D back, and the O has added a true wr that stretches the field and can be relied on to help. The draft is loaded with the positions we need OT and WR and we still can restructure Jawaan if another player comes available. Curious what everyone's opinions are at this point. 1. Keep Sneed and add a cheap LT then head to the draft to upgrade the rest. 2. Trade Sneed add another player with the money saved and go into the draft. 3. Restructure Taylor/Thuney and add another player and keep Sneed and go into the draft.
  25. What a spot to be in. We can afford him this year which would be great. Especially since we found a WR1-2 ish for a great deal and our defense is pretty much the same as last year minus Gay, and our offense should be a little better at least. We don't have any major holes outside of OT and WR going into the draft. Which bodes well for us. Would love to sign him long term but I don't think they can get a deal with Bolton done if they do. IMO Sneed > Bolton, but Spags loves him so doubt that happens.
