  1. What a great deal. I was worried we were going to give him some ridiculous contract like 4/80 after Ridley signed. What a masterclass. With Brown in the fold the only other major need is LT. After that we can afford to wait on FA for players to fall to fill IDL, WR, DB, and DE. Great offseason so far.
  2. That is a great deal. 1/7m with incentives up to 11. Well done Mr. Veach. I think there is a very good chance we end up keeping Sneed.
  3. I don't mind the slow play in FA. There will be good value in the 2nd tier and we have the ability to bring Sneed back if we can't find appropriate value. Having Sneed under the tag gives us lots of options.
  4. He would provide a type of WR that Mahomes has never had at least not at that level. Would be fun. Like you said doubt it happens but would be nice.
  5. Or DJ Reader. Pairing either one with CJ would be a terror for Olines. Calais Campbell would be a cheap options. He is old old but dude had 6 plus sacks last year at 36. I think they can find guys later in FA that can fill/rotate and provide some juice next to CJ.
  6. That WR deal for Cavlin Ridley is ridiculous. Titans front office trying to destroy that team. Yikes! Also think this makes it that much harder to sign Hollywood. I'm bracing myself for some crazy 4/80+million dollar deal for Brown, which I hope we don't do.
  7. True but a few of those guys have made bank over their career and never won a ring. None of those teams outside of Cincy and maybe Seattle are even remotely contenders.
  8. Haha! That's been a minute. He used to be decent with info like that but he hasn't been even remotely close in over a decade and now its just throw crazy stuff at a wall and hope he gets it right.
  9. I might be alone but I am glad we haven't overpaid for middle level guys. If that Pats report is true that Calvin wants 4/74 then I pray we aren't even making an offer. I'd rather resign Sneed and wait until cuts and third tier or until money runs out. None of the legit game changers even made it to FA (Evans, Higgins, Pittman) and the mid tier guys are being overpaid my bad organizations or we are being avoided like the plague like the Steelers and Johnson in trade situations. Being patient is exactly what we need Veach to do. The Chargers for example have some tough decisions to make to get cap complaint by tomorrow. They will more than likely cut 1 or 2 guys from the group of (Bosa, Mack, Allen, and Williams) Anyone of those guys would a massive upgrade for us and maybe they want to play for a contender but if not they flood the market with more talent and push guys into our price range. Gonna be a fun week!
  10. you guys listen to that hack? He had a source back in the Peterson days but is no better at guessing what will happen than the drunk guy hanging outside the Brown Derby.
  11. 100% agree jet. Cheap cost controlled talent is how this dynasty lasts for the next decade. We have to keep drafting well and plugging 90% of the holes on this team through the draft and then add in FA in the few areas that we miss on or leave via FA. Veach will want to add a WR and probably LT competition before the draft to keep all options available.
  12. A lot of mid level players making a lot of money. Probably best to sit the next few days out. There will be plenty of good players hit FA when a lot of the initial money has already been spent.
  13. I think that guy finished dead last in separation the last 3 years running. Hard pass.
  14. I think Veach wants to add a OT and WR before the draft and eventually sign a vet DB or two.
  15. I go back and forth on him. He doesn't look like just a straight line speed guy (like so many of the guys who end up being busts) He looks like he has some quickness to pair with that elite speed and his route running looks better than most of those guys previously mentioned. We need that field stretcher and I think he can add 10-15 lbs of muscle back on before training camp. I do think i would rather have AD Mitchell and find a speed merchant later in the draft or FA, but I won't be upset if he is our pick.
  16. Big time deal for CJ95. Curious what kind of signing bonus Clark will write to lower that cap hit this year? Hoping for north of 30 million considering he has to escrow the 95 (I believe) which would get this years cap down.
  17. I don't think I eluded to him not being elite or not being the 2nd most important player on this team. I know he holds this D together. Our D last year without CJ drops 10 spots easily. He is vastly important to this team but there are teams with far more money to spend in FA and there is a limit to what the Chiefs can spend and should spend to retain him. 30 million a year is steep even for a player of CJ's ability and especially steep considering his age and we won't be getting great value for that after a couple years. It really is being stuck between a rock and a hard space. You can't replace his impact on this team but giving him 30 million plus on 4 year deal is not wise. I'm not overly worried, we have Mahomes and a great core on this team. The thing that concerns me a little is this dragging on and any player that could help you replace some semblance of CJ's ability will be long gone. And again they doesn't cripple us long term but it makes the attempt at a 3 peat far more difficult than it would have been. I think Sneed is gone regardless, not because he isn't a great player but he was a 4th round pick that we can net at worst a 2nd rounder for and save 20 million in cap space. That is getting two players for the price of one. We have a history of developing good dbs and that position from year to year is the most volatile.
  18. I'm preparing for Chris to pull the same crap as last year and I'm also prepared for Veach to overpay him. I don't think there is anyway in Hades he signs a 3/84 type deal that some have been floating around. I can almost promise you the Texans made that ludicrous 4/133 deal. For them its a win win. Get a dominant player when they have a ton of key players on rookie deals or make KC overpay. Love CJ and he is 100% the lynchpin on this D but our team can three peat without him. He made winning last year incredibly hard because of his hold out that benefitted no one. Veach either needs to close the deal or tell Chris thanks for the year and move onto plan B. Sign a Danielle Hunter and DJ Reader or some combination
  19. I disagree. He has good trade value. He won't net an elite haul like Tyreek but he will net us a good pick on day 2 and free up 20 million in cap space. Our teams has found a niche at finding and developing dbs that fit and excel in Spags D. We got 4 good years out of him and will be able to flip him for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I also disagree that teams like going to the draft to find are players like that. Some teams do, but many teams can't or don't know how to draft certain positions or need to fill a hole and they would prefer to find a known commodity that take a chance. Especially if said team is close to being in playoff contention or believing they are SB contenders a la the Lions, Colts, Pitt, and Miami.
  20. Agree. Need to keep stocking up on rookies and their contracts to offset the guys we give long term deals too. Would love to get 61 and 92 from the Dolphins would be nice even if we had to give up a pick in 2025.
  21. Yeah that dead cap hit would be rough. I'm not sure I would considering how often he is injured just curious.
  22. I generally agree but I think they are going to go above and beyond just a little more than normal to chase this thing. Its historical and is a feat that likely will never be broken. It's a legacy feat that seals lots of guys fate in the history books. Makes CJ a first ballot HOFer, probably gets Spags in as the only coordinator to get in. Probably gets Butker looked at to get in. Goes a long way for Thuney, Creed, and McDuffie as well. I don't think they mortgage the farm but I think they stretch the cap as much as possible to get Mahomes some weapons while maintaining the majority of that D. Gonna be a fun offseason.
