  1. I don't think there's any question that genetics are part of it. And your home field plays a role. And luck. But there's also no doubt that 176 rushing attempts is putting him at higher risk of serious injury.
  2. It doesn't even take one hit. Jamaal Charles tore two ACLs in non contact injuries. The more you run the ball in the NFL the higher your chance of injury.
  3. There's homegrown talent and then there's homegrown TALENT. We have "homegrown" the league's best quarterback, the league's best tight end, possibly the league's best wide receiver, one of the league's best pass rushers and a homegrown left tackle that's been pretty good for a long time. Hitting big on the right positions is more important than drafting a lot of average left guards and safeties that make the roster every year for a long time.
  4. Hypothetical question. What happens in 2019 if we don't have hb? Do we make the afccg even?
  5. Yes, I think it's a fair comparison. You're leaving out the fact that RG3 threw for more yards. And that LJ has a better supporting cast. Plus RG3 was a true rookie vs LJ who was in year. LJ started about half his rookie year. Compare those stats with RG3's rookie year and get back to me. It sure seemed like RG3 was primed to have a great career before he blew the knee. And they didn't do him any favors by continuing to play him.
  6. I think you mean qualify it all I want. And nobody knows if he would have won it back then. Some MVP seasons are better than others. For example, Pat's MVP season was better than Lamar's, but there's probably some that are as good as Pat's was. Regardless, I think we can agree that Lamar sucks like an upside down hurricane in the playoffs.
  7. I don't care if he brings Stills, Nash and Young. They ain't getting there.
  8. Lamar might not have been MVP in 2012 with the season AP had. Peyton was 2nd with one of the best seasons a quarterback ever had and bringing the Broncos back to the top and into the Super Bowl. It's not apples to apples. And not relevant in comparing the 2. Lamar had a better season, but he also had a better supporting cast. Before RG 3, the Redskins won 4, 6 and 5 games.
  9. First off, I kid because I like to fuck with Hands a little. It's fun because he gets so mad when you say anything bad about the Ravens. That said, as a rookie RG3 inherited a 5-11 Redskins team and rushed for over 800 yards, threw 20 TDs to just 5 picks and took them to the playoff for the first time in quite a while. He was drafted 2nd overall and there were people that thought he had an outside chance of being number 1 overall. And then he got hurt and wasn't as mobile. He was never the same passer again. I think you can see some parallels in their games. RG3 was probably a better pure passer and not as good of a rusher.
  10. I'm not taking sides here because I have not looked up the stats and I'm not gonna. But being good under pressure is different than what Mloe said. People may actually drop back 7 into coverage in obvious passing downs vs creating pressure against a guy like Lamar. That's probably what I would do. But with the year he had, he may have good stats in that regard also.
  11. The very first post that says we need more speed and exuberance is awesome. There are Iditarod dog teams with less speed and exuberance than we have.
  12. It’s a confusing chart and I might be reading it wrong but it looks to me like Alex is about average for number of attempts but way low on his average depth of target. 4th lowest of the bunch.
  13. It will be interesting to see how Lock and Herbert pan out. Lock looked goodish in a very small sample, but while they are building some offense in Denver, the no fly zone is pretty much gone now. With all the changes it's hard to know who the likely #2 team in the division is now.
  14. The fact that he was able to change coordinators and schemes and have the personnel in place in a single offseason without tearing down the offense is pretty amazing.
  15. Lamar Jackson shit the bed like a nursing home patient on lasagna night in that game. 52% completion percentage and the two costly picks. It was sad to watch frankly as a fan of good football. I wanted him to do well, but he just couldn't get it together.
  16. I think Taco will surprise us and have a breakout year. But he is probably not a big upgrade to Ogbah. Gay on the other hand could be a big upgrade potentially.
  17. I was watching a breakdown of the Super Bowl 2-3 chip jet wasp and they said on 3rd and 15 Mahomes passer rating is something like 96.0 and the league average is something like 4.9. I don't remember the exact number but that's pretty close. I have gotten where I'm happier at 3rd and 7 instead of 3rd and 3.
  18. Unless I'm looking at something wrong (which is entirely possible), the bottom 6 in YPA RUSHING were the Jets, Dolphins, Bears, Steelers, Rams and Bucs, none of which made the playoffs and the top two were the Ravens and Titans, both of which did.
  19. Did you also notice how the Titans made it to the AFCCG and how the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl?
