  1. Even if it's all guaranteed upon signing that's still an extremely team-friendly deal. Not sure if they are realistic.
  2. Homegrown shouldn't necessarily refer to drafted players. You can pick up a lame FA and develop them into stars. Pretty much every player goes through some form of grooming to adjust to the team or the playbook. In the end it comes down to having a great QB or not with the way rules have evolved.
  3. I don't disagree with BB being the top. He has been kicking a$$ for years. I don't think he'll keep that spot without Brady but we need to see that come to past before demoting him.
  4. I wouldn't mind trading him for a 1st and may be a 3rd at this point unless they think we can sign him long term. Players never get better by sitting out so we'll be losing quite a bit of value in Jones' case.
  5. He loses the money based on number of weeks he sits out but I think that cap is rolled over to next year.
  6. Looks like Hill could become an enforcer on the field.
  7. Would be awesome if he played this season before being traded but looks like he could be gone rather early.
  8. HB ended up as the best safety so nobody else would have made the same impact. However we could have won the SB with less of an impact from the safety if certain things went out way but we never know, which is my point.
  9. We would have quite a bit of cap space at hand to work with so it's a matter of what Veach would do to fix the Safety situation at hand. HB did great but assuming we landed Thomas I think he could be enough as well with the way Thornhill played but nothing is certain.
  10. NFL is too QB oriented to actually groom homegrown players for success. It's always nice to have as it makes the sustainable success much easier but not really mandatory as it used to be in the past.
  11. Every running QB comes up as different than others, that's why they make a big impact early on but defenses end up adjusting to them and career starts going downhill.
  12. Running QBs need to forget what they have done in college before they can actually start in the NFL. RG3 was a great example of a very good arm ruined by the QB not learning the NFL and LJ is likely going to be next. Watson was a similar guy who ended up playing NFL-style and flourished. Young QBs need to learn that mobility in the NFL is rarely about moving the chains but rather keeping the play alive.
  13. Yep, CP's last draft in KC and we had like a million picks that year. Carr was a 5th if I remember correctly.
  14. Flowers was solid from day one but Carr had some growing pain early on, still I would consider any rookie CB playing at that level a big win for the draft.
  15. Any recent news about Thornhill? Would be awesome if he makes the camp at least in August but haven't heard anything after the surgery.
  16. If Thornhill comes back healthy Adams would simply be a luxury we just cannot afford. Keeping Jones is definitely a higher priority IMO.
  17. My order would be: #1 Interior OL: A lot of youngsters but no proven answer. Some of these guys remind me of the time we had Kush in town expecting him to become a starting caliber guy that ended up being cut. Reiter was terrible in 2019 and looks like he'll be the starter at OC. #2 LB: Unless Gay is an absolute beast and DOD makes a big leap we are in trouble here. Wilson isn't really an answer and we might not even have enough bodies in the entire group. #3 CB: With Breeland likely out we could have some huge trouble starting the season and we still need some youngsters to play at a high level to actually have a decent secondary. Injuries could be a huge issue here. I'm not that worried about the rest. I still think we need some TE depth but it's not as high of a priority as long as Kelce is healthy with so many needs elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised to see some trades for back of the roster guys similar to Ward.
  18. Reminds me how "beast" of a player Ford was. Always had a 3+ sack game or two against an OT you never heard of to pump up his totals and was lost against anyone that mattered. Don't know much about Crosby but Raiders may have found their Ford, let the frustrations begin.
  19. LT sure is important but that's basically a decent QB money. If we add a solid QB to the mix that's close to a 3rd of team's entire cap on 2 players. That will definitely hurt GMs. I think we are in a position where Pat will allow us to only really pay 3-4 guys on offense with the rest being cheap youngsters (via draft or FA) or 2nd/3rd tier FAs. Pat is ready to turn a lot of lame guys into stars to bring in some picks for our future drafts.
  20. If the average QBs really know they are average that shouldn't be that bad of a problem but overrated QBs (like Dak) that are actually average but think of themselves as solid franchise guys will be a major issue. I can see a guy like him asking for 40 per year under such circumstances.
  21. Not sure if I agree with all of it. Our run game has been terrible up the middle and the interior OL has rarely formed a good pocket for Mahomes. Mahomes' abilities seem to hide their deficiencies, which sort of means that we can win with a worse OL than most other teams due to Mahomes but we cannot allow the OL to turn Mahomes into Luck if we want to keep being successful.
  22. Not sure when we actually had both OTs play the whole season without injuries but nevertheless both our OTs are FAs in 2 years and there's a very good chance that we won't be bringing back both. Due to lack of high picks (thankfully) we need to invest in mid rounds to take over within a year or two so Niang is probably "business as usual" for us for the next decade.
