  1. nfl.com has a mock with Hennessy to us in 2nd and Dye in 3rd. I would definitely be happy with that outcome. Definitely need a CB but can't fix them all with just 2 picks.
  2. Not sure if I agree with this. We returned 20 starters but just upgraded one of them and our major needs are still there. If we take care of those in the remaining rounds this might be a good draft for us but winning the 1st with a RB isn't realistic.
  3. At this point 2021 1st is a must IMO. Depending on where the 2020 2nd is the whole compensation could be 2nd this year and 1st + 2nd next year.
  4. They probably gave Mahomes a choice between RBs on their list. I don't see them seeing another position as a higher priority but picking a RB just because Mahomes wanted one.
  5. Speed is overrated. It's a nice compliment to have but reality is the ability to move the chains.
  6. Not a surprise with hands like Westbrook and looks like he can stay upright after first contact. Decent short yardage guy to move the chains and solid receiver out of the backfield.
  7. Ruiz is a great OC prospect so I'm guessing they have plans on moving McCoy to LG but wouldn't mind trading for him if they simply think he's a failed prospect. I would prefer grabbing Biadasz in 2nd if he lasts but wouldn't mind exploring trade possibilities if we don't end up replacing Reiter at the end of tomorrow.
  8. Williams did very well to finish the season and was tremendous in the playoffs. I hope we don't end up with a Carson-Penny type situation here. Would be great if we can trade Williams during the draft.
  9. Not the greatest speedster but definitely a very elusive guy with nice vision. Looks like we've taken care of the position for the next 5 years.
  10. Definitely the most likely scenario. The revenues probably won't go up and the actual cap might have to go down but the owners will likely take the hit for a year to keep the team contracts in place.
  11. With so many QB moves and trades no surprise we got little attention. If anything I think we may have gotten the most nation-wide recognition considering the lack of moves.
  12. He had no guarantees left so I doubt he's leaving in this scenario. Could be open to some trades but that's a small possibility.
  13. That has more to do with our TE depth than anything else
  14. Not sure how accurate it is but according to overthecap we are again paying Pennel vet minimum. Interesting to see them shying away a multi-year deal if his demands were so low or there was no demand in the market.
  15. I think LDT is nothing but an insurance policy as any decent draft pick would render him useless and June 1st cut saves a lot of money. I guess he's only on the roster because Veach isn't sure if his guys will be available in the draft or due to some trade/injury possibilities.
  16. Yep, a solid OC or RG would definitely upgrade the guy next to him so it might be the one investment with the biggest return. Getting rid of LDT saves some money which will be very useful to pick up some defenders cut post-draft.
  17. Getting anything back for Ford was a win. The guy is not healthy enough for the NFL and never really progressed as a player. Came in as a one-trick pony and still is that guy with nothing to show for it on the field for the money he got in return.
  18. So far Veach has been focusing on next-year potential early in the draft. Speaks with Ford and others in town, Hardman with 2 starters already available, and a few guys seem to be rotational choices but the switch to 4-3 renders them pointless in this approach. I wouldn't be surprised with a solid OT prospect falling to us with our late 3rd that Veach pulls the trigger for to replace Fisher in 2021. We will never be in a position to draft a premium LT (thankfully) so whomever we bring in has to spend some time as swing tackle before taking over and mid rounds make a lot of sense in that regards.
  19. I think we'll be drafting our starting 2020 OC/OG and a swing tackle in the first 2 days of the draft as the picks currently stand.
  20. Still Mahomes suffered quite a few big hits due to the crappy OL play. Any one of them could have been the final blow to our season.
  21. Ring is critical in 30s for a post-playing career but definitely not that much early on except for guy that actually can't get the big money and wants to be in the spotlight via playoffs on a short term deal. I doubt a young big name FA would really take a paycut though. May be a million or two of a huge deal but that's it.
  22. There's quite a bit of time between now and September. Any poll made now is just pointless as people will change their mind on either direction based on how things turn out over time. Also it's always possible for people to find some excuses or obstacles stopping them from attending an event. The good thing is the pandemic started right after Chiefs won the SB providing NFL with the maximum amount of time prior to the new season.
  23. Chiefs are at that stage where we can't pay everyone. The question remains simply watching a few players leave to bring in comp. pick or trading them prior to paying. I hate to see Jones as the odd man out as DL is very critical but as the current contracts stand he seems to be the primary candidate to leave as we've already paid a lot of guys.
  24. Colquitt saves 2 million if let go. I believe they would be up for a switch if there's a good replacement but I also doubt there's any urgency. 2 million is basically wiggle room for the season so they might not make any moves until the end of TC. There's always the option of Colquitt retiring but that's a whole other thing.
