  1. I think we are in a position to get FAs by paying them less overall and could work with a few guys that don't really get what they want in the open market. Being in the spotlight earns a lot of paychecks for any offensive player.
  2. Another reminder of how low the Chiefs set the bar in that department.
  3. I think the scenarios make sense but I think the next best is simply keeping Breeland for that amount and hopefully a discount. It should be cheaper and more beneficial to keep Breeland and Robinson in town rather than paying Watkins the big bucks. In the end it comes down to everyone's asking price though so it's pure speculation.
  4. I was really excited about Ben Grubbs back in the day and only gave up a 5th for him but it didn't work out. Turner is a better player IMO and still very young so trading for him would be a good risk to take IMO. Protecting Mahomes is the best offensive investment at this point and surely will upgrade our running game. Not sure about how much he would want in the new deal though, there's no way we trade for him with a 2-year deal at such a high amount.
  5. If this is true I feel like playing Madden with cheat codes or something. Having the best player in the NFL in his prime for below market rate is just unimaginable.
  6. This is a two-sided business. Makes sense to tag him if they don't have a deal in place. I understand the players' focus on big deals as this is a brutal work but if we are not in a position to give him one we might as well get something in return. I hope we keep him on a decent deal though.
  7. Finally a move to keep Mahomes upright, I'm guessing some more will follow. I wouldn't rule out multiple OL picks in the first two days after a trade down from 1st.
  8. Thornhill is the key. If he's not going to be healthy by TC I wouldn't mind bringing Berry back for the vet minimum. At this point we shouldn't have him count against the cap for anything. If he's coming back it shouldn't be for money but rather to win a ring. If he wants money and is fully healthy I'm pretty sure he can find it elsewhere.
  9. I still think the low end players could get a much better deal out of the whole thing but of course it all depends on how the negotiations have been going so far. Overall the owners look to have favored the low end players to get the deal signed while giving up as little as possible.
  10. May be Reid met him already while having the "biggest cheeseburger you've ever seen" 🙄
  11. Just looking back at 2019 I'm not sure if Chiefs or Pats would actually show up with the Ravens getting the #1 seed. Lack of the bye week for #2 seed basically renders 2 or 3 of the top teams in the conference useless in the last week, that should lose quite a bit of TV money and the alternative seems to be a few of the crappy teams playing for a playoff berth only to lose out a week later.
  12. At least has better hands but I still want us to actually invest at a TE. We have a great one and basically nothing else.
  13. Didn't really work well when they tried with Kelvin Benjamin. Doesn't mean that it won't work as Dez is a huge target and having Mahomes throw to you is a whole other story but an agile natural TE might definitely be better.
  14. The only thing that makes Prescott a "star" is the team he plays for. Otherwise he's just a glorified Dalton. Tannehill is just funny.
  15. They are like Vegas casinos, owners never lose even if the players think they won something.
  16. The Madden approach of fixing everything in a single year is always tempting but in reality 2021 is more likely. No need to open up a hole at OL with so many needs in the interior at a higher priority. Sometimes the smart business decision is overpaying someone for a year due to higher priorities.
  17. So the expansion to 17 games is all up to the players, basically saying "we'll not give you a bigger share if you don't comply with an extra game". I like the emphasis on the minimum salaries as that has a much bigger impact than all the tags. Not sure which way the players will go but should be interesting if the agreement is reached rather soon. Also I'm pretty sure we won't be dealing with a Mahomes-contract if the CBA has a chance of being settled this offseason. Both parties will want the new agreement in place to maximize the benefit.
  18. Dez looks a bit stiff in those videos and that's without pads. I still think they might bring him in as a possession receiver as Kelce seems to be our only option in that area but I wouldn't pay him that's for sure.
  19. I really liked Pennel and would like to keep him but if there's a huge market for him and we can't hang on to him I think we could bring him in for a 1-year ring deal.
  20. Just looking at this year we would have the dismal Steelers and Rams in the playoffs. Chiefs would probably not even suit Mahomes in the last 2 weeks (talk about losing money for the NFL). I don't think regular season keeps as much of its value with an extended play-off schedule. It has always worked in the opposite direction for other sports.
  21. Always thought they extended the CBA rather than nullifying the remaining years. This would definitely be a big surprise for a lot of GMs and fans.
  22. That's the rollover from last year. This year's cap hasn't been announced yet and will be added to the rollover if we have some space left.
  23. We all know how great the 16 team play-off has worked for the NBA. People don't even care about regular season anymore and it'll probably shift towards that in the NFL if they start messing with a beautiful thing.
  24. Signing both Houston and Berry much earlier would have saved us some money. Had to tag one before signing and the other one played under the tag for a year costing us way too much money.
  25. March 16th seems too far away, this will be an interesting offseason for the whole NFL.
