  1. Our primary issue seems to be the front 7 making contact behind the LOS while coming up the middle so a TE wouldn't really make much difference in the run game. However if needed it should be relatively easy to find a blocking TE, there's no shame in lining up for nothing but run. In the passing game Harris had 25 targets last year with 12 receptions. With less than 2 targets per game I doubt we miss him that much and we can always find a big WR like Benjamin to come in for red zone situations as Harris had 3 TDs with those 12 receptions.
  2. Hunt is a pro-bowl level RB when healthy. I wouldn't treat Collins with the same approach. I don't know much about him but after looking at his fumbling numbers I don't know if he's an upgrade over what we have in town. I'm still leaning towards giving youngsters a look but if the staff thinks Collins is better and bring him in I wouldn't be disturbed by the idea. I don't think Hunt will ever come back to KC but it sure will be interesting to follow his offseason process, should provide some entertainment to an otherwise boring offseason.
  3. They don't really differentiate on bad or good when struggling. They have been very consistent on struggling throughout the year.
  4. I wouldn't really call 31 HCs failures every year as some of the teams area always rebuilding. However when you have a long stint in any team every year you don't win is a failure. Doing it throughout your career is just simply a reason not to be considered "great". Great ones find a way to win and if you consistently find a way to lose that's just a whole other image.
  5. Sorry I thought you were referring to the numbers you quoted. They probably forgot the carry over but shouldn't make such a mistake when writing an article.
  6. That's the same figure, are you referring to something else in the previous post?
  7. Obviously it's not exact but we have Hill + Clark + HB + Okafor actually start counting against the cap next year so we are already around the limit assuming the cap doesn't go up considerably. Departure of Watkins, Sorensen, Erving will add to the cap and it'll go up with a few on its own so we'll have decent cap space but the number mentioned is generally correct.
  8. I think Clark is a great example of veterans needing the TC as much as the youngsters. He has basically started up just a few weeks ago and definitely a difference maker with his performance. He's capable of even more and we might see that down the road.
  9. Surprised he's a free agent. My first question would be can he hold on to the ball? If so definitely a decent addition to the mix, if not then not sure if there's a point.
  10. It's not that hard to win shitty games, there are 10+ of those every year. Reid's record in real games is 11-13. It's not like he has been a dominant winner, he's just good enough to win in regular season but always seems to have a lot of issues unrelated to him in the postseason, while all of them are actually being his problems as the HC. I enjoy winning games with Reid, especially the division games are basically tune up. However if he's not able to get to the ultimate goal the good of the Chiefs will rely on getting a HC who can. I loved Roy Williams in KC. But just think of his legacy as the man, 0 titles in 15 seasons. That's a long drought and more importantly he'll always be ranked behind coaches like Self or Brown who actually won the titles.
  11. This was one of the better defensive performances of 2019. Clark basically played like what we expected him to be and the rest kept up against the run. Gave up a lot of yards late in the game but that was mostly to make sure the game stays ahead of the defense.
  12. Looks like we'll be pretty healthy on offense after the bye week. This is probably the only time a Thursday game would be nice but that would be asking too much
  13. Reid is definitely the best coach in the division, which is a huge difference maker. Regarding the bold part it doesn't mean anything. One of the best should be able to hang on to leads late in the game as well as manage the time better while making sure his team doesn't make stupid mental mistakes over and over every single year when it matters. For any other position or coach there are other factors to consider but for a HC SB = success, the rest all mean he has shortcomings making him a failure. I like the saying "second is the first loser" which is true for Reid. He's better than most but still not a winner. Hopefully he takes advantage of Mahomes' rookie deal and win the big one but if not he'll simply go down as failure of a HC.
  14. Andy owns the division. The rest don't have a chance unless he messes up big time which is very rare. However that no longer has any meaning. Chiefs are in a position where it's SB or bust every season going forward. 10+ wins don't count for much any more except for selling some tickets for Hunt. Reid has to prove that he can improve on his shortcomings otherwise he can check as many boxes as he wants while remaining a failure.
  15. Any team can basically win any game. Even Miami has a couple wins. However we seem to be consistently battling with various issues in critical times and they don't seem to be going away. I would feel more comfortable going into January knowing that we can actually handle certain situations and would accept any outcome. Personally I like this win more than most. We won without any flashy plays, basically an old school game that led to the scores which has been a major issue for this regime. However the coaching issues that have been lingering for quite a while still seem to be there.
  16. This wasn't an overall game. We are not this bad on offense either and have proven it against some solid defenses. If I was a citizen of Mexico City I would want my money back.
  17. Thanks to those turnovers to turn that solid defense to a terrible team. Rivers might be our MVP in this game.
  18. This is the year we were supposed to win the SB with Mahomes' rookie deal in the books and we invested on both sides of the ball accordingly. However we have way too many problems that have been lingering for long. Reid always puts up a competitive team but he needs to take the next step. If something isn't working on the field the HC should adjust but we seem to stick with the gameplan from beginning to end. That killed us last week and we won this week so it's always a roller coaster until Reid can take more action during the game.
  19. Yep, this was a bad team. I hope it doesn't stick.
  20. Well Reid has to make it work, that's his job. We never managed to establish the run hence the mix & match didn't work on offense. 11 weeks into the season and we still don't have a decent running game in the books. They rarely brought pressure but still it was effective as they only needed to focus on coverage. Keep in mind that McCoy's fumble could have hurt us big as well if we lost it. Too many IFs to actually take them seriously IMO. This is NFL and players always miss plays that could change the outcome.
  21. No way. This was simply a bad team vs a very bad team/QB. Luck was definitely on our side.
  22. Basically anything that can go right has been going right for the Raiders and it's the exact opposite for us. I think it's an easy for us but with the way Reid has been behaving lately you never know.
  23. Possibly the most fun I had in recent years was watching the I formation leading to the TD with Sherman up front. That's how you win real games in the NFL. I don't see us going very far with this approach though, hopefully it was an altitude thing that the idiots in the front office couldn't adjust while Chargers were practicing in Colorado.
