  1. He has some mental issues right now, which could be coming from the lack of sacks pressuring him. His missed tackle in the backfield really hurt us and those aren't the kind of plays Clark used to miss on in Seattle. I agree sacks aren't as vital and numbers never tell the whole story but right now Clark is missing some of his football identity.
  2. Can't argue about that, he sure is large He has always been touted as a players' coach, sometimes that seems to hurt him or the team but overall it generally helps out.
  3. If we can find a decent FA that would be a boost. At this point I'm not sure what the staff thinks of him but Breeland might be a keeper for the right price. That means finding another 1-year type guy in FA or drafting 2 relatively early. If we trade for one sooner that would be a huge difference but we'll see how things go. Linemen generally get overpaid and big guys aren't really worth 1-year prove it deals as most don't really bounce back at a high level after injuries. If we can land a long term solution with a proven guy that will be awesome but need to see how things turn out.
  4. We can't take care of the entire CB group via draft. We'll probably add 3-4 new names to the mix assuming Ward stays. So we'll likely add 1 or 2 FAs at the position. The same can be said of LG, if we are not in a position to draft a good one we could look for a proven FA but that's easier said than done. Teams don't really let decent linemen leave in FA unless they are going to ask for a lot of money.
  5. He'll definitely make some plays against Erving but I don't think he'll be tough on Mahomes. Too bad he didn't restructure for a cheaper deal to stay in town.
  6. Wouldn't be surprised if 'or' is replaced with 'and'. Looks like it should have been our first pick this year as well but I guess we can survive a year with shaky OL play.
  7. He's pretty good in the open field but definitely a work in progress closer to the LOS. It's generally the other way around but I guess he needs to improve in his technique.
  8. As long as he's not day to day I can live with week to week. Too bad it all happened right after we extended him but this is football and the Chiefs.
  9. I think he came here to flash his talent & stay healthy for a big FA deal. Wouldn't mind extending him for an acceptable amount but not sure how much cash we'll have either. We can't really overhaul the entire CB group every season so keeping some guys on the roster would be a huge plus.
  10. We used that pick (3rd) to move up in 2nd and grab Speaks.
  11. I would put Fuller out of that list. Smith trade was basically a show of strength to the NFL as Chiefs wanted to trade him to a good place and Fuller was a solid CB in that mix. Not sure if he was a mistake but definitely one I can live with in that scenario. So far I think Thornhill is the only Veach prospect that worked out on either side of the ball but he seems to be good with second tier FAs. I don't think any of his flashy moves worked out though. Clark trade looks to be very bad, so far HB is just a little better than Sorensen, Watkins looks like a massive overpay, Hitchens is just barely better than Ragland. He looks to have done better with guys who are generally overlooked sort of like Dorsey on that regard. Okafor seems like a decent addition and Ogbah looks like a steal considering the price we paid. Breeland looks pretty good and we basically need Claiborne to get to that level really fast.
  12. There seems to be no focus on it but play calling might have been the worst part of our offense in this game. We basically ran the ball just for fun except in goal line situations. Lions could simply focus on stopping the pass and that's what they did the entire game. I might be missing some plays but I think we may have finished the game without a single play action. OL was bad but play calling just made them worse as we did exactly what they weren't capable of.
  13. Good to see Clark realizing his issues. Sacks aren't really relevant as they are also worthless on their own but so much investment should come with a lot of tackles behind the LOS. Hopefully he can deliver after this realization.
  14. I think this was one of Mahomes' better games. He didn't light up the opposition but managed a 4th quarter comeback for a win. He was smart enough to find new receivers when the usual suspects were covered really well. I can't imagine any other QB coming up like Mahomes did under these circumstances.
  15. Looks like we could have saved a lot of money with Trey Flowers and 2 picks, and if not Kpass doesn't look like a drop off.
  16. First one was a run and he broke the plain with a hand under his knee.
  17. First was a TD, second wasn't. Lucky for us they didn't spot it but looked obvious from the side angle. Overall I think this was a great win and a good wake up call for Reid and the staff. They can't get cute. Veach also start investing in linemen, we have 3-man rush getting to Mahomes before all that speed can get open.
  18. Okafor is good but not sure if he was supposed to be the starter or Speaks.
  19. I bet some street FAs could run over 100 yards against us.
  20. Just forget the rest and trade for a lineman. This will be a long season.
  21. That was a pass to Sorensen, probably didn't even see it.
  22. This might be the worst ST over the last decade. In fact might have more mistakes than the entire Toub era combined.
