  1. I liked both Watson and Fortson. Seems like Mahomes likes them too so expecting both to stick around. The only major issue I see is the RT, Wylie isn't a starter so we need to solidify it somehow. Need to keep Mahomes upright to win, the rest is all secondary concerns. Bolton made his great rookie season look like cr@p. Reminded more of a DJ-type LB that can do it all, hopefully he keeps that up against tougher competition. The defense has some identity which I think we were lacking later last season.
  2. Too early to call. Besides the first couple rounds I don't think any rookie can be on such a list as they need to learn and adjust. Pacheco seems to get more praises from the team than anyone else without showing as much on the field but as a late round rookie he definitely needs some time.
  3. Never had any issues with Robinson's exact spot on the field and the motion to catch. His issues basically start when the ball is coming his way, either a bad grab that loses a lot of momentum or a stupid move backwards that end up with negative yards after catch. Always better to let some youngster take over that roster spot and hope for some upside.
  4. I think the bold part is the real question. He held up decent enough coming in as a backup but I wouldn't consider him a reliable starter after failing us so many times in different positions.
  5. Not sure where he fits. OT was the logical choice based on his college career but even the scouts considered him for OG at the NFL level. As long as he's a viable option somewhere on the line I'll be very happy.
  6. https://sports.yahoo.com/kc-chiefs-mecole-hardman-chris-184331830.html Don't really care about Hardman as much since I read this part: "As for Jones, the three-time Pro Bowler left less than 15 minutes after arriving for the stretching and conditioning portion of practice. Jones also rode up the hill in the passenger seat of the cart."
  7. How in the world a reunion make sense for the Chiefs 😠
  8. Reiter is likely a great camp body as he already knows the system and can help with youngsters around him but I agree he should leave in favor of Allegretti who can play both OG and OC. I believe Thuney will see the end of his contract. The way the OL contracts are inflating will make him look rather cheap and we won't have to pay guys like Creed or Smith real money until he leaves. Obviously if we find a gem at OG that would be another story but I doubt they will downgrade at LG to save some money.
  9. I think we'll see a major upgrade at both tackle positions but the state of the backups is definitely worrisome. Last year was an exception to an otherwise terrible luck at OL health over the last decade or so.
  10. He was on a rookie deal so may be they think they can sign him for cheaper after he clears waivers? Other than that I don't think he makes the final 53 with what he has shown so far but definitely not one of the first guys to cut. However I believe he would be on the bubble with the assumption that all 3 drafted rookies will get a roster spot.
  11. I believe every option is viable at this point. You don't keep around a player just because of a 2 million dead money, which in reality is just 1 million in cap due to the top 51 thing. However I don't think Reid would let a veteran leave before making sure the youngster is ready to take over the role. Keeping all 3 is an option IMO. Not sure if they still have the protected PS spots but if that's still a case I believe we'll see that one utilized.
  12. They seem to like Henne in the QB room. May be he's helping out with Buechele as well?
  13. Based on here the entire cap for Henne is 2 million and all of it would become dead cap https://overthecap.com/player/chad-henne/920 I believe he'll stay around and unless there's a mystery injury to Buechele I wouldn't be surprised if we carry 3 QBs just to protect the guy. Seems to have a decent arm and can take over from Henne in 2023 unless he brings in a decent pick in FA and become NFL's next Chase Daniel.
  14. My favorite thing in this game was the first TD. Mahomes taking snap under center and found open Bell after a decent fake. We have been way too "flashy" to be successful recently and have been riding stars on offense but using some fundamental plays will actually let those stars shine even more.
  15. Manning is a great example. We had the best pass rush duo around but couldn't even sniff him for years and kept making up reasons for their immediate downfall whenever something minor happened. In the end we needed football to be over with Manning.
  16. People will support what they want to believe and anyone with an issue regarding the current dominance of the Chiefs will see any move as a major step towards the decline. I expect nothing less and in fact more fury in the future as it only means we are consistently dominating.
  17. I think Wharton's pass rush skills will get him to stay as the next man up behind/next to Jones. Saunders and Shelton should likely be battling for the backup spot to Nnadi.
  18. If they think we have the replacements in place I would do that trade in a heartbeat but doesn't sound very realistic. Basically giving up a top 5 pick for someone who won't save the crappy season. They have been known to make meaningless moves though.
  19. I believe Kaindoh should be playing against the starting tackles. Need to see where he's at for the season. I would expect the same for Powell but we have way too many new WRs so probably should utilize the playing time against starters as well as possible.
  20. This is the one thing I don't understand. Nobody buys subscription for the preseason games, so why not just televise them publicly and get a higher ad revenue?
  21. There's always the possibility of "just in case" during camp, so may be they want a veteran with some reps if a camp injury occurs. Might even be an in-season consideration assuming he can't land a full time gig.
  22. Used to be a solid prospect coming out but never really lived up to that. Surprised by the move but hopefully he works out for the better. Not sure who's the odd man out though.
