  1. "He's so fast he makes the fast people look not fast"
  2. I think we have seen great examples with Wylie, Reiter, and a whole bunch of others in the past to ignore the 1-game performance as the norm for any player. Besides having a LG like Thuney right next to you will elevate anyone at LT.
  3. Dunlap may be the best FA signing possible, proven vet with a great track record in various styles. Would solidify the defense from day 1.
  4. I hope it's just one of those minor injuries that lead to PUP to free a roster spot during camp. I doubt CEH will have much of a career in the NFL if he misses this season, very critical for him.
  5. Players earn their contracts weekly so however many weeks he misses is deducted from the tag value. The same is true for suspensions as well.
  6. The trade came with the risks but that's why the price was relatively lower. On paper we fixed the LT need for 2-3 years which could be considered enough compensation. However I believe we should now focus on getting as much as possible for Brown and move on, which could sweeten the initial deal even more if we can get something good.
  7. Never understood the "sitting out TC" part. It's probably pointless for much older vets who probably only need conditioning but for a youngster who's looking for a big payday TC feels like a can't miss. Establish yourself as the guy, do the right training to avoid injuries during the contract year and actually spend time with the guys that will get you paid.
  8. With Niang likely out until at least the beginning of the season this will be a great TC for youngsters. Hopefully some fatties shine and we have to worry less but taking a look at Niang in TC would be very useful.
  9. They can practice with the team to determine their health status but not sure about the extent of activities they can participate in. However I doubt Ross will be such a priority for the staff with so many new WRs on the team, I'm guessing all of those guys will need special treatment as they adjust to the playbook and Mahomes.
  10. Mahomes is smart enough to know that the highest paid QB rarely, if ever, earns the most money. You need to get paid a decent amount but the #1 income should come off the field which only comes with cap space spent on other players.
  11. This. They will stash him at IR and any time he gets later in the season will just be "recovery" before he comes to the lineup in 2023. Doubt he'll be worth a late season addition to the roster either, he had a very limited time with the team to actually get used to the playbook and Mahomes.
  12. Still quite active in football and one of the more intelligent linemen I've seen, wouldn't be surprised to see him come back as a coach together with Smith.
  13. Yep, in the Madden mindset we expect to see instant improvement on defense but realistically it takes at least a year for such a young group to come together and perform. If the offense does their part I think we'll see a final defensive output similar to last year that may be marginally better later in the season but not getting my hopes up just yet.
  14. I feel like that was a realistic offer. Brown isn't an elite LT so doesn't deserve to be paid north of 20 million but got an offer to claim that he's an elite LT based on the averages. Now he has to play for 34 million over the next 2 years instead of 61 million more for the next 3 years and try to find that big deal somewhere. Better keep healthy and performing, I don't mind losing him for a 3rd in 2024.
  15. And the obvious game plan that helped the defense focus only on those two guys.
  16. A sophisticated and elaborate answer to the original question would be: No!
  17. Ross is the most curious one for me. Is it a health thing?
  18. Not that I want to trade anyone away at this point but if we are giving up a decent LT starter at this time of the year we should be getting at least one 1st in return. This is the time of the year when the value of the picks plummets.
  19. Didn't realize the option until reading it here. Looks like a throwback Chiefs site, I love it
  20. I think it's still a bit on the offense. No defense can be good if they are on the field for vast majority of a game. As long as the TOP is relatively more balanced this year the additions to the defense will make this a decent bunch and could result in a solid group.
  21. Great signing. As long as he's healthy an even split between CEH and McKinnon in the backfield snaps wouldn't surprise me.
  22. It's June so the media needs some controversy. They will twist and turn a lot of stuff to create stories now that there's no lingering QB situation around.
  23. Totally agree but I think those are the criteria to determine whether or not he deserves a long-term deal as opposed to making him the highest paid in the NFL. The title of highest paid should go to a player that has proven to be elite. Based on his progression throughout the season I think Brown is worth a long-term deal but definitely not sold on him getting the highest contract out there.
  24. Hicks looked like the best FA option for us out there assuming we were on the market. The "up to xx million" doesn't mean that much to me anymore after seeing the Juju deal though.
