  1. So how do we determine Brown's potential is actually worth the top LT money in the market? That approach got us stuck with Clark and LDT that come to mind right away.
  2. Explains a lot. Normally the lack of a gallbladder means less alcohol and fatty foods for an otherwise normal life but curious about its implications for pro athletes.
  3. I guess that's his career now, 1-year rental for whomever needs a stop gap LT.
  4. The only thing that may dissuade him is the fact that he earned so little with his rookie deal and may not be able to risk sitting out with no paycheck for an entire year. However as you implied they are rarely realists.
  5. 3.9 YPC as a senior, I wouldn't expect much from him in 2022. Definitely looks to have potential but could take a while before we see that on the field. Would love to be surprised with a breakout season in 2022 though.
  6. If he had an agent may be we could have traded him before the draft or he could be working around the clock to set up a trade for him that would be an option but at this point in this career not playing a whole season isn't going to get him the big bucks. I don't know how long he can wait before he signs the tag but may be he'll wait until the deadline to do so. However he's not a top FA at this point and needs to showcase as much as he can for that big deal which won't come without being on the field.
  7. Would likely be the better option considering they stay put. Kelce would run it to the hole much better after the catch though.
  8. I think the version of Thornhill he gets next to him will determine his real worth in KC.
  9. Not sure if it was on hard knocks or elsewhere but I remember a coach talking about the UDFAs getting the most looks early in the offseason to asses their abilities for the TC even over some high draft picks who have been looked into much more thoroughly during scouting. Not surprised that some get decent recognition.
  10. Not sure how accurate but shows a 6th for Ingram: https://overthecap.com/2023-compensatory-picks-update-5-24-2022/
  11. I remember when an uncontested two handed catch around this time of the year would get us hyped up for a playoff win that never came.
  12. Looks like Mahomes is missing Hill already 😅
  13. Getting Mahomes' attention is probably the best way to stick around in the final 53
  14. Pointless but fun projection: https://sports.yahoo.com/pff-projects-strong-rookie-season-191038464.html
  15. Liked him a lot and thought he was the rightful #1 for us until he went down and McKinnon shined. However this regime has been breeding RBs like crazy and I think Williams may have been a yet another product of a good coaching staff. I believe we'll be able to replace his production from day one.
  16. May be he's not 100% yet or not ready for the full NFL action? I don't think IR or PUP helps the progression though, they could learn stuff but probably at a much slower pace.
  17. It's beyond all of us. Even the GMs have experts on the payroll that focus on nothing but the cap. Too tricky to simplify I guess, similar to the comp. picks which seem to lack consistency.
  18. Teams have to spend 99% of the cap over 3 years so they may be trying to play catch-up as they always seem to have quite a bit of space available.
  19. They gave a weird contract to Hali to spread the money over multiple seasons. Not sure how that works but may be something similar could be done. However I don't see Henne out of the mix as 2 QBs would be way too risky.
  20. I think it's more about Chiefs getting a bargain on Juju. I'm guessing Chicago invested in Pringle's potential in an extended role but we'll see how that turns out.
  21. Isn't that the added cap left from last season with the incentives earned at the end of the season deducted?
  22. Nope As it says in the link all players regardless of the designation count towards the salary cap with the exception of the exempt list. However only the top 53 contracts, not the 53-man roster, is taken into consideration to determine the team's standing in the salary cap.
  23. It's top 51 throughout the offseason and top 53 once the season starts. The designation of the player (IR, PS, PUP, etc) is never taken into consideration.
  24. If Brown kills it I don't think there will be issues with paying him. That extra 2-3 million is probably the calculated risk of waiting. Obviously this all depends on the assumption that he wants to be paid north of 20 million. If Brown doesn't cut it then that big money could go to a proven free agent LT or a defensive player that will free up the 1st round pick. The worst case scenario is another tag for Brown and either trading him for a high pick that will bring in the LT or keeping him around for another year.
