  1. Based on the players available I don't mind the rental guys, Suh is always a force in the middle and would be a great compliment to Jones but not sure what the asking price is. As things currently stand DT seems to be our weakest point on the field (assuming Ingram comes back) so there should be some emphasis on that with the June 1 cuts as well as the current FA market. I don't know who would be the odd man out though, a lot of potential with questionable production makes the choice much harder but obviously the coaches should know better.
  2. Should be the final money he made including the incentives. Not sure how much that is though.
  3. I hope so, that would make Ross one of the biggest steals of recent drafts and likely take WR off the list of high priorities for 2023.
  4. So you have him beating Gordon, Coleman, and Powell in the depth chart from day one? Great prospect prior to the injuries and still intriguing for 2023 and beyond but I think his best bet for this year is WR6 to begin with and a trip to the IR to protect him could be in the books as the staff focuses on getting Moore settled in the offense as a higher priority.
  5. There's Nnadi and Stallworth as well even though they are primarily run stoppers. With a rotation of 5 may be we add a 6th guy to the mix but there wouldn't be enough snaps to go around to create some consistency.
  6. Hicks could be a decent option but I'm also curious about how the youngsters will do at DT.
  7. And I thought we kept Kyle Long around looking at him as an OT 😅
  8. Remembering back when rookie deals were a huge mess with guys messing up the cap for years without playing a single snap in the NFL. Love that they turned to an afterthought.
  9. I thought a healthy Long would have been a decent rotational piece but looks like football is done with him.
  10. I can see him becoming a Chief only for a modest 1-year deal which he probably won't have to look for. So it's an extremely slim chance that doesn't really make sense for him unless he thinks he can get a shutout corner money in FA after a single season which is very unlikely.
  11. Already know that he's Mahomes' buddy so he'll likely be back. May be he's one of those guys that get the assignments right imitating the upcoming opposing offense.
  12. After not being healthy for 3 years I hope Ross isn't screwing himself up badly trying to go in 100%. Looks like he'll be a decent addition but I wouldn't mind waiting on him for a year if he's not being smart about the whole thing to earn a roster spot.
  13. I hope so. As long as his demands are reasonable I don't see any issues with the deal. Nobody cares about the tagged OT on the rookie contract so early in the season so he was bound to negotiate over the summer. Still wouldn't be surprised if he went the stupid route, not that he can, as a lot of players are demanding crazy numbers at this point. Obviously he must play out the year but you never know.
  14. I think that's the knock on any new WR in Reid's system. The issue isn't necessarily the talent but the lack of that chemistry, or presence of it with others, lead to a lot of guys being overlooked. If that's going to change ever I think this could be the year with so many new guys making up the corps.
  15. Can't argue with that. Even though I think our pass game will be much better with a group as opposed to a single star there will likely be plays where we miss Hill's great speed in the open field as well as his shiftiness.
  16. Yep, the era of the 3 CB setup is rapidly coming to an end. Empty backfield is more and more common these days and defenses have to increase depth at CB. The same is true for the TEs, they are no longer the slow giants you could cover with LBs, getting faster and more agile.
  17. Seems to be a decent route runner but I've been fooled by the small sample size in the highlights before. Wouldn't mind Steve Smith Jr. or any solid WR for that matter, can't be too picky
  18. I don't expect any issues besides the Brown not having an agent but if he decides to go the stupid route are there any OTs available in FA waiting on that last second veteran deal? DBs are definitely in play, we have been adding bodies like crazy I don't think that would mean we are done with possible upgrades.
  19. That's a surprise, didn't know he has a specific issue or a surgery. Hopefully he's fully healthy in time but yeah that explains a bunch of picks in this draft.
  20. I would expect Gordon to keep his head clean and actually try to become a decent NFL receiver at this point as it's his last chance to make real money. However you never know with one of the dumbest talented players in NFL history. I don't think it'll be a fair fight though, there's the possibility of the "healthy to return" notes being a lie as it has been quite a few times in the past but also NFL teams don't shy away as designating raw players coming back from injury as IR bound for the year.
  21. You shouldn't doubt our ability to find out something to bitch about, we just need to go over our version of the TC and determine something by the first game.
  22. First of all I hope he's over the spinal issue, that's tough for anyone let alone a young man trying to build a life. In our perspective it's a once-decent prospect for literally zero cap spending, nothing but a plus and if he can mount to something will be a decent option to have around. I don't think he challenges anyone currently on the roster though, seems more like a candidate for the PS or the IR depending on his current health.
  23. Not sure, that's quite a while from now and I think that's basically when he would need to join camp already to get up to playing shape by the season. Normally I would expect any FA to be signed by then and the price likely won't go up right before the season with most cap spaces somewhat drained.
  24. "That means the Chiefs are offering Ingram a one-year contract worth $4.4 million, which is 110 percent of his 2021 pay. Ingram can sign that contract any time he wants and remain with the Chiefs for 2022. Ingram can also continue to shop himself to other teams in free agency, but there’s now a July 22 deadline. If he hasn’t signed with another team by July 22, he has to stay with the Chiefs. And if Ingram does sign with another team, the Chiefs would be eligible to get a compensatory draft pick for his departure, even though the deadline for compensatory picks passed today."
  25. I really like McDuffie but since he's a first rounder that cost multiple picks I think the Chanel pick is much better in terms of value. Overall I think this draft gets a solid B that may turn into an A depending on how many of these guys we can really use but I'm guessing it'll be an easy A.
