  1. I'm pretty sure there are but can't really remember any non-QB player in the 1st that cost multiple prime picks and was actually worth it in the hindsight. There's always some other player available for less that does just as good, if not better.
  2. Toney is one of those guys that I wouldn't mind picking up on a 1-year vet minimum deal once he gets released but trading anything for a guy like him is just a waste IMO.
  3. Conley sure was a huge failure, all that unmatched athletic ability wasted in a guy with no talent.
  4. Most sports writers are pointless during the offseason, so they try to make up stuff to keep themselves relevant. The team with the best QB in the league with a whole bunch of draft picks and enough cap means they can be in the mix for every trade-able player or FA based on "their sources".
  5. I don't think the sample size reflects his current value as he may have simple peaked already and even if he hasn't he won't get the same amount of workload here so the contribution will likely be way below the 2021 stats. He'll cost Tyreek money with a bunch of picks after a single season of greatness. He doesn't have a 5th year option so it's a single season of cheap contract followed by a huge extension. As things currently stand I think Deebo is a perfect example of a trade/player a team thriving for consistent success should avoid. May be the Jets or Jags give him and the 49ers what they want but I don't see any championship caliber team to part with so much capital.
  6. As long as he gets paid to bring in a decent pick I don't really care about the destination any more.
  7. Watson has way too many drops to be an early pick IMO. Probably a 2nd day pick likely in 3rd. If they are looking at early round WRs I don't think we have a better fit than Burks with that size and speed combo.
  8. It all depends on the team of course but assuming I have nothing on the roster I go with Donald.
  9. I think that doesn't happen at least until the draft at this point. If we land a solid prospect in something like 3rd I don't think HB will be a viable option but if we don't find what we are looking for or only find project-type guys then HB could be the go-to FA but still I don't think he will want a short term deal.
  10. Yep, different contracts for both. Also #29 is a player that may not be traded up for by any other team so whomever they think could attract a trade down could wait for another 10 minutes for that expected offer to come in.
  11. I hope this is just that but would suck if someone snatches him away. Perfect fit from day one with great production, tough to find that around. Would feel more comfortable if we signed him before the draft with a bunch of bonuses for OTAs that he can ignore at will (or get paid to attend).
  12. Sucks to see this: https://sports.yahoo.com/former-chiefs-lb-melvin-ingram-180559353.html So I guess it's a monetary issue between the Chiefs and Ingram
  13. Gilmore and Fuller (for a prove-it deal) could be decent options for us. Ingram is basically a must IMO but don't know what's going on with that situation. The rest will likely be too expensive to make any sense but most would be good additions for a post-draft cheap contract.
  14. Not sure if we are in a position to get anything other than a 6th or 7th besides the 3rd we have in place considering the FA market. I would imagine late picks would be negligible for the right FAs but may be they don't see much difference between anyone available today and mid-May.
  15. No player is a sure thing but I understand the need for prioritization. I also believe the marginal gain on some positions on offense is much smaller than defense but the goal is to create a balanced team that will compete so the availability of some players later in the draft will help determine each pick as well.
  16. I think it's a matter of the "devil you know". They had quite a bit of injuries but still put up a competitive team, I think we are still the better team but may be he doesn't see it as a way to improve his changes drastically so staying put. However a QB like Mahomes should be intriguing for any player.
  17. Not sure why he refused but that would have been a great signing even at 35.
  18. We have already been utilizing some of his raw skills. He has been a decent runner out of the backfield in those weird plays and has been useful in creating speed mismatches later in 2021. I don't see any GM giving up picks for that but they are still useful when he's already on the roster. I don't see us keeping him around for those raw skills after his contract runs out though.
  19. The question I have is what would you consider Hardman's value in terms of a draft pick if you were another team/GM? When we put him in the equation is that similar to an extra 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc? At this point I don't think any GM would give up a pick in the first 4 rounds for Hardman, he's definitely not worth it. May be a 5th or 6th would be our best bet. In that case I don't see the value in trading him away either. His market value is much less than his raw skills that we could potentially utilize. If not then we just lose a late round pick value in the process which is acceptable IMO. At this point I can't really pin any prospect as WR1 for the Chiefs. I think our best bet is a Hill-type rookie season with a role that resembles WR2 and hopefully that prospect turns into WR1 in 2023. Watson is a realistic target but I would feel much better with that pick if we spent a 2nd on him. Burks is my favorite option considering the picks we have, good combination of size and speed that will create separation either way. I don't see him setting the world on fire in 2022 but he could emerge as the leader among our receivers if he doesn't end up in that "takes time to learn this system" cr@p we have to deal with for all rookies.
  20. What makes you think Hardman has any trade value? As fans of the Chiefs we like seeing some pulse but that's still optimism for the future rather than an immediate value. For anyone outside the organization he's probably a guy who could be swapped for their own failed experiment or a conditional pick at this point.
  21. If a 1st or 2nd round WR can emerge as a decent WR2 as early as this year that's a realistic scenario for us to follow. I wouldn't even rule out instant production over long-term potential either as we seem to be wasting too much time on WRs before they are good for anything. Pats basically got whatever they could out of draftees and let them go when they actually peaked in value & performance. Any player that will be ready in year 3 is a waste IMO unless it's a very late pick.
  22. I guess we are set at RB but wouldn't rule out a Williams return if he can't find anything in FA.
  23. Considering the cost of acquiring a WR1 I think that's all we'll go for within trades. The only logical place to find WR1 without cap considerations is the draft.
  24. I don't see Veach trading for a top WR that will get paid north of 20 million per year after trading Hill away for cap considerations. I'm not even sure if Chiefs are looking for a WR1 in the NFL. May be Veach trades a mid round pick for a 2nd-3rd tier guy but other than that any WR will likely come via the draft.
