  1. I don't think we draft a WR1 for 2022. They need to learn the playbook and go through whatever they need to go through in this system before we can utilize anyone. So I'm guessing we play this season without a true WR1 but rather add a couple more solid veterans and have a rotation there. I think the biggest question is the prototype of the WR that we go for at this point. Hill wasn't a conventional WR1 but that's also very tough to find so do we go with the classical bigger guy that will create separation by size or do we try to go for another Hill-Hardman type and see if they can develop?
  2. As far as I understand Hill wasn't keen on joining the Jets. I guess the income tax situation in Florida was much more intriguing and they have something resembling a QB over there. The picks are somewhat the same as you mentioned but may be Veach values the 5th year option but the key is probably Hill's decision as any rumblings on his part could eventually lower the compensation as time passed.
  3. I think it depends on a few things. 50 million for any WR with multiple SB rings is definitely much higher than 72 million with just a single ring. Another ring or two is obviously never a guarantee here like anywhere else but if a player that already made some nice money is willing to take the risk the payout could be much greater over their career as opposed to just the playing years. Just look at all the money Romo is making, his latest deal is like double what he earned in the NFL and he's a QB so it's much easier to get those posts. Any WR will have to do more to get the same look.
  4. I think his ceiling at this point is a decent WR2 which is perfectly fine with me. We need that size and Mahomes could utilize his athletic ability quite a bit.
  5. Definitely, getting to 4 conference title games in as many years and winning half of those for 2 SB appearance is a successful thing but in reality the SB wins are the only things that count over time so for a dynasty they still have some way to go. Reid can still improve as a coach as well as Veach as a GM. However I like the emphasis on keeping the franchise QB in town for an extended period of time while willing to part with lesser positions that don't warrant the cost of keeping them.
  6. I think Dorsey/Veach and Reid have their shortcomings and not just a few. However sitting Mahomes out a year, trading away a WR wanting to be the highest paid in the position, focusing on the trenches as opposed to flashy but less important positions are very critical moves that really create a dynasty. If we tied a considerable portion of our cap to a single non-QB position we would be less likely to have consistent success.
  7. Veach started to play the hits. I wonder when they announce Dirty Dan and Niemann. I thought Wylie and Allegretti were our interior depth, why bring in a known failure 😬
  8. Just use a third of the entire cap on 2 guys, what could go wrong 🙄
  9. I'm happy with the trade, would be nicer if Miami actually had their mid 1st around but I guess that would mean less picks in total. We can easily get 2 solid WRs for the money Hill was apparently demanding and 5 picks over 2 years is a very good value for any WR. I see this as a huge win for the Chiefs and if used right those picks could bring in much needed cap relief with solid rookie contracts. I would still refrain from selecting any WRs early on as we should be in a position to bring multiple FAs while using those picks to fix the defense, once that's taken care of we can start worrying about offensive playmakers in future drafts.
  10. You can never have enough bodies in the camp rotation. Also I doubt we will be able to bring both guys back so Jones may simply be the RB3 in a realistic world. I'm not sure about McKinnon because the only reason we were able to get him for cheap was his health, otherwise he has featured back potential and his receiving abilities inflate his value. Wouldn't be surprised if a GM is willing to pay him more than we are comfortable with. Williams is also a very good option but his lack of presence at the end of the season is the biggest knock on his value, which could be helpful for us to bring him back and looked like he was going for the #1 RB role in the backfield before the injury.
  11. Before DE and DT I'm actually scared of signing a S and LB that were on our roster last year.
  12. I would give Brown this contract with no hesitation but I doubt he would be fine with these numbers.
  13. Good move, he's here for a while so doesn't really create any cap that we don't want to endure unless there are major health issues.
  14. The stars are always nice to have but the championships generally come with secondary guys that are solid making up a decent rotation. In terms of a GM the toughest guys to find are the ones that will outplay their contract massively from day one. I like the approach of not going for the stars. If we miss with the current group of signings that's a lesser blow but if we hit it's nothing but a home run.
  15. Or a huge party in the locker room with a bunch of wasted players. I don't mind the signing but don't really have high expectations either.
  16. TJ Watt is a great example, there were 7 edge rushers drafted ahead of him in 2017 and none of us even remember 5 of those ever existed. Staying put is the best way to draft for any non-QB position. At this point I would be contemplating a trade down to be honest as moving down to early 2nd would get us a premium pick in exchange for the 5th year option.
  17. That's something I'm curious about, players must play out their rookie contract but does that include the 5th year option or is it treated like a tag? Didn't hear about the Baker sitting out. That's definitely something to prompt some reaction from any GM but with the bunch of picks they had there would be some wiser ways to replace him. Regardless I expected a trade in place for Baker before finalizing the Watson deal.
  18. With Jones and Donald rushing up the middle the QB wouldn't have time to even spike the ball.
  19. Watson has much better raw talent but with all the distractions and sentences coming up I don't think this is an upgrade at all. If Baker isn't the answer just use a couple of those picks to find another answer and save the cap space to fix the rest. If Watson saga continues to be a major headache such a guaranteed contract will bury the franchise for good.
  20. Wouldn't that be receiver as opposed to a WR if we include the TEs in the mix 🤔 What I can tell about our offense without looking at the numbers is the following: #1 & #2 receivers: WR1 & TE1 in no particular order due to Kelce #3 receiver: WR2 #4 receiver: RB #5 receiver: WR3 ...
  21. I'm guessing one of those contracts that pay the guy more but only count as a vet minimum against the cap. Glad to see him back, one of those rotational guys that are decent enough to be in the mix but I wouldn't mind a solid starter to pair with Jones on every down.
  22. Really curious about what they think of Powell. A lot of potential but some players take a season or less to develop whereas others need multiple of those, hoping to see him in the mix for this year. We always want star potential but decent #3 #4 WRs are also critical for success and may become the go-to guys in some situations.
  23. I wouldn't really compare their numbers. Pringle was used much more in the middle of the field with contested plays whereas Hardman's numbers were inflated by those weird plays out of the backfield that count as passes.
  24. Pringle has been extremely underrated as an athlete. The dude is fast enough to return kicks while being tough enough to catch in traffic and make some plays. Good size and a hark worker. I think he's similar to Ogbah in terms of the loss as there was a lot of potential there. If we didn't waste so much time trying to make something out of Robinson and fooling ourselves to think Hardman was an answer we could have used Pringle much better over the last couple years.
