  1. More excited about the young DE duo but it's not an easy switch to the NFL. However if we strike gold this DL will be awesome with Jones in the middle. Another year under the belt for already top level LBs and the secondary has been a strength in recent years. This could be a major defensive leap if we found the right DE duo.
  2. For certain players absolutely. They make more money by winning rings than they would ever have by playing and Kelce is one of those guys. Besides the ego factor I don't see anything prompting him to ask for #WR1 money. Especially for 30+ players piling up on success could mean more as opposed to a first veteran contract. Resembles the Mahomes rumors a couple months ago that just turned out to be just the media stirring for some action.
  3. He has more yards than any other WR over a few years so he's definitely underpaid but also he's the one that signed the contract in the first place. That being said i see him making a lot more in broadcasting and such so rings are probably more valuable to have in your arsenal and their podcast is taking off nicely.
  4. Obviously that employee is never going to press charges so this one will turn into "friends just joking around" unless the public is keen on screwing Hill.
  5. If he wasn't sick that response suggests that he understands his mistake, if he was sick then no reason to worry. Either way I feel like this should be a no brainer but with no veteran signings coming our way I don't think it's an urgent topic either. Expecting something right before the TC.
  6. He's one of the captains so skipping the ceremony is a big thing. The ceremony belongs to the whole organization so contract talks shouldn't matter at all. I don't know if there was something else though.
  7. Obviously it would be another jackpot to find someone like Gonzo or Kelce but I think 2 decent TEs playing together or rotating is a bit more likely and the safe bet for now. That being said Chiefs have always been great at finding TEs. We picked two of the greatest ones and I believe some notable mentions as decent options so may be we find that third one in a year or two.
  8. I can see a suck for Bronze season in about 20 years. Gray would be too early to replace Kelce. Obviously we want to be prepared for anything but I believe they already knew that Kelce is playing for a while longer. Gray is a decent TE2 prospect who has been progressing towards that, I don't think he'll evolve into a tier 1 TE and I'm perfectly fine with that. Kelce's replacement likely comes within the next couple years.
  9. I can see him playing longer than Antonio Gates at a higher level. 40 could be a target with reduced snaps.
  10. There's also that, essentially getting paid more not to play here than he's getting to actually play.
  11. Hunt may be the weakest option in that list. He was a useful guy when still young and hungry but no longer worthy of much. This regime is a RB heaven so don't need to spend any real money for the position.
  12. Without the rings I wouldn't be surprised if he came back to finish the job due to relations with other players. However 2 rings are more than enough for a guy in so much legal trouble to only focus on the money. He wasn't getting paid here so makes sense to look for it elsewhere. I doubt we miss him or have to worry about him.
  13. Business as usual I guess, let the reps go to youngsters.
  14. My question exactly. I would love him to break the bank and eat up as much of the cap as possible
  15. LG is never the sexy pick up so I can understand people wanting to spend the money on skill positions but an upright Mahomes is a lot more important than any skill player on offense. Thuney is definitely Veach's best signing and the primary reason he has done so well with the recent drafts as he got a player that improved two guys next to him from day one.
  16. Wow, I knew James was serviceable but didn't know he was a Boldin-type WR. Could be a much better pick up than Juju if he can repeat that with Mahomes.
  17. Yep, she looked pretty healthy and vibrant. Not sure if she was already ill or something crept up to her.
  18. Depends on how the extension works with the 5th year option but the option itself is over 10 million so they could have saved some money if it's similar to extending a veteran. I doubt it would give them enough cap space though, they would probably have to create some more cap space and Allen is already playing with a lame cap hit which will triple next year so they need to carry over as much as they can.
  19. Very likely the case. Even though I would have loved to have hit the jackpot with late 3rd very likely scenario is an injury or something or they simply want to make sure the backups get some reps with the starters.
  20. So Taylor is set at RT as expected. Curious if they think we have a rookie starter at LT or if it's just a matter of rotation/minor injury.
  21. We also need to consider the upcoming years when spending money. Creed and Bolton are basically locks to be extended and Smith definitely deserves to stick around. If we somehow carry over some cap from this year that would be very helpful going forward but I think we'll have to let guys like Sneed, Gay, and Smith leave for the "greater good".
  22. Rookies can only be extended after the 3rd season so this is the earliest point in time for Sneed. IMO it's one of those cases where as you said we simply have to accept the fact that he'll be too expensive for us to keep around and live with a 3rd or whatever pick comes our way through FA.
  23. Let's make it top 5, then top 1 so we can make up for any injuries and such.
