  1. They aren't voluntary but the older vets don't do much and the coaches spend more time with the rookies and youngsters so it's pointless for 30+ guys as well unless they are coming back from an injury or something. I don't know if that's the issue with Ingram, I thought he would want to wait for the FA market to settle and find a competitive team that will go for a ring. I'm pretty sure he'll still have a lot of demand so weighing his options may look attractive.
  2. Hill is much more valuable than the tag so we definitely would save a lot of money but not sure if an unhappy Hill will be as productive. If there is such a conflict between the Chiefs and Hill I think trading him sooner would maximize the value while saving us a lot of headache.
  3. He would be 31 by then so I doubt he would go for it. If we tag Hill we'll likely have to pay him big or trade him for a lesser value.
  4. Herbert will be extended next year but still has to play out his rookie contract and with some backloading I think they have 3 years before that contract kicks in. Until then they will be a tough team as long as they keep drafting well and finding decent FAs.
  5. I doubt that was ever an option. Seems like he was already on board with some cost cutting move that couldn't be restructured.
  6. There's a very good chance that he'll be benched in favor of a rookie though.
  7. In a traditional sense 25 is too much but if they go with lower guarantees there's no problem with huge payout in a backloaded deal where he would have to earn his keep every single season. Realistically Hill should be happy to get something around 20-22 with high guarantees as opposed to an inflated deal that doesn't mean much similar to Adams.
  8. I understand Denver's approach. The last time they were good was with Manning at helm and they are in a position to lose out on quite bit of talent if they can't replicate that success. So they go for the best QB available in the market. They gave up a lot and I don't think that leads to success but at least they are trying. Chargers on the other hand seem to have made good moves, I don't think they made any mistakes in the offseason. Raiders are simply doing what they do best and mess up the franchise. I wouldn't call that desperation as opposed to tradition, it's no different than the Lions consistently sucking.
  9. Definitely Hill should stay in town with a reasonable contract and based on his skills that would be under 22 million per year. Can't get caught up in the spending frenzy if we want to keep going for the SB. Unless there's an agreement within the next month I wouldn't mind trading Hill as suggested, would create a big hole to fill in draft/FA but that would be something to accept in order to remain a successful franchise.
  10. I like adding such FAs. Solid veteran presence throughout his career and even though he'll be declining he would still be serviceable until our rookies are ready to take over.
  11. True but with Mahomes in town the definition of success is the SB, the rest is seen as a failure. It wouldn't be so with any of those QBs. However you are approaching the topic in a whole other way which is kind of irrelevant to your original claim of other QBs being just as good. For example Burrow didn't beat Mahomes because he's more talented, he beat Mahomes because Reid f*cked up in both games. Coaching failures during the game don't really take away the talent from the QB.
  12. Loved Wilson in the middle, tough dude who found a way to make a big play quite often even with Smith at QB. I think we should be bringing in a bunch of veteran FAs for minimum deals and see if any of them stick. If not, we just let them go over the TC.
  13. Last year there was no real FA market due to the cap going down and Juju opted to wait for another year for a real market (just look at the contracts right now). However he got injured so the long-term market for him went away and needs to showcase his skills again for a big payout. I'm pretty sure there are modest deals out there that he can take but choosing not to.
  14. Can't be worse than Robinson so may be the 4th option as early as now? If he can beat out Hardman I would be even more thrilled as a viable receiver is much more valuable than a gadget player IMO. They can keep using Hardman as the DMC-type player as long as they want.
  15. Other QBs are competitive but none of them take away the Mahomes' advantage. They need better tools around their QBs to compete with us but none of them would be able to beat Mahomes if the remaining tools were exactly the same.
  16. Yep, an OT is a big need and if we can find someone to at least be the swing tackle this year that will be a critical boost. I'm expecting someone in early 4th (after we trade our late first for an early 2nd and 4th) but if there's a great guy on board I think Veach can pull the trigger any time.
  17. Rodgers and Wilson are both just above .500 in the playoffs. Brady is finally regressing and no longer has the talent to back up his elite status, still the greatest QB of all time but not right now. Burrow may eventually be a top QB and the same is true for Herbert but neither is at Mahomes' level yet. They are basically solid franchise QB prospects but not really elite. Stafford may be considered one of the best in that bunch, too bad he was stuck in Detroit so we don't really know where he should rank. I think Allen is the only QB that would be comparable to Mahomes, great talent with good smarts to back it up.
  18. Not sure about the price tag but great addition. If he stays healthy we could have 3 players with over 1000 receiving yards. I guess Hardman stays as WR3 this year and we groom a mid round pick for 2023 and beyond. We might and likely should go full defense with the first 4 picks.
  19. Very good doesn't compare to Mahomes so we still have the advantage. We may be lacking at backup QB but if it comes down to that we are already screwed.
  20. Raiders should never be in a position to set the market, they just know how to give out stupid contracts. I wouldn't want to be in a position to pay Hill as much and anything over 20-22 per year will be a questionable move. I don't mind giving him some solid guarantees though.
  21. Pringle was basically the #3 receiver in clutch situations this year right after Kelce and Hill. I doubt Chiefs were done with him but simply the money wouldn't be justified. I was hoping for something like 10 million over 3 years but the Bears just gave him a decent contract with a chance to look for a long-term deal next season. We should have been done with Robinson years ago, I think it was a good sign that nobody wanted him in FA. We need some new blood at WR.
  22. That train of thought gets me to "what would JC do behind this line with Mahomes at QB". I imagine there wouldn't be any NFL records that he doesn't break.
  23. Yep, was benched in favor of Hughes and the rest in his lone NFL season.
  24. He was backup to Hughes, not really keen on adding that but may be he had some raw talent (besides the domestic violence) that can be coached up. At this point I think he would be a camp body.
  25. That's a nice 2nd/3rd tier addition. Chargers have been building really well, it's definitely going to be an interesting match-up going forward.
