  1. Nice salary dump and basically nothing more.
  2. Such a decision wouldn't be up to Veach or Reid, Clark would have to sign off on him and I doubt that's even an option.
  3. I think the Ingram resigning is extremely overlooked. If we get it done it'll be a huge boost to the defense and if not we'll end up with yet another hole to fill. I hope it's done quickly.
  4. I'm not sure if it's a winning formula though. Giving up draft capital with so many needs on defense for a likely marginal improvement over other FAs may actually trigger the opposite scenario. The thing to keep in mind is every season with Mahomes is simply a SB ring or a loss for the Chiefs.
  5. Came across this list and it's kind of intriguing with the relatively low price. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-2022-nfl-free-agency-bargains-olivier-vernon-sidney-jones-landon-collins
  6. Never a sure thing obviously but such interest early in FA generally means a possibly inflated contract as opposed to a bit later in the process. We could get some nice boost for 2023.
  7. Curious about that as well. Taking away a huge need at DE for a few years by giving up the late 2nd would be a win IMO.
  8. I think it's a matter of trying to be competitive hoping that it sticks. If they hit the jackpot with some late picks they could still be in a good situation but that's a very rare case in the NFL and even tougher with the QBs you mentioned in the same division. However it's basically the Broncos way of trying to keep up. If they made this move before Wilson's previous contract when he was again discontent with a bunch of things it would be a great trade but after some point it's a big risk. I think they are trying to replicate what Manning did but they got way too many discounts from FAs all over the place just to play with him, I doubt they have that option now.
  9. How many targets do you expect Hill, Kelce, and Metcalf get that they would be comfortable with? It's one thing to draft a guy like Metcalf and groom him for a specific role but now that he's a #1 WR he won't be happy in an environment where he's getting half the targets as opposed to now.
  10. I think it would again depend on the price. He's more of a better fit into our style of offense but also would cost some draft capital which may not be as meaningful. However if you are referring just to the style of play even though I think Metcalf would also be a good option Lockett definitely fits better.
  11. No shame in adding via trades/FA if you know you cannot develop a rookie QB. They have tried and failed over and over, time to go for a proven veteran. I like the somewhat steep price that limits their low-cost player additions but it's still the better option for a team that's desperate for a QB.
  12. Concerns about Brown at LT doesn't justify trading him for a WR though. It may be a good reason to not extend him but then the smart way would be to keep him on the tag for this year and see if he'll be worth the extension or try to trade him next year. If he's really crap Seattle wouldn't do the trade so it doesn't make any sense on that regard either as they would have to pay him more than Metcalf would cost. If Brown is actually worth the trade then it doesn't make sense to let a decent LT leave for a WR unless there's actually a surplus at the position, which we don't have. Besides Metcalf or whomever comes in will be #3 in targets (or #4 depending on who the RB is) and likely have pedestrian stats that doesn't really justify giving up assets.
  13. Okay. Joking aside I think a decent LT is much more valuable than any non-HOF WR. I would much rather roll with a questionable WR with Brown at LT as opposed to creating a new hole on a line that has finally played well after way too many terrible seasons.
  14. Still not sold on Jeudy but Courtland is pretty good. I'm sure both will be even better with Wilson in town but still a major downgrade from Metcalf & Lockett. I can see Penny landing in Denver though and that could be quite interesting.
  15. I'm assuming Von Miller is coming back which would boost that defense even further. I don't know if Broncos will attract receivers coming in for cheap but they need some weapons before Wilson starts crying like Rodgers. I wouldn't be surprised if Wagner joins them too.
  16. I don't know about the market or individual team needs but a team that needs some upgrades at the secondary for the final push could go for a proven veteran who has already been to the top recently. Otherwise I doubt it'll be a crowded market unless he's looking for a big pay cut.
  17. I don't like the move. Great WR but still the #3 option on the team, that would be too much investment for the outcome. IMO just go for a free agent that won't cost any picks.
  18. Yep, I want to keep Brown but won't stop another team giving us multiple high picks if they want to break the bank for him.
  19. Moving Sneed creates a whole new hole to fill. Unless Sneed is an all-pro Safety prospect at this point I wouldn't worry about moving him and just try to find a definitive answer while he focuses on improving even more at CB.
  20. Isn't the whole idea of the 17th game a home/away game that's played abroad or is that just for a few of the games?
  21. Not really sure about that. Broncos kept signing FAs only to get high picks for those that left, so there are some discrepancies with the whole thing. However regardless of the shenanigans I think we lose Ward, HB, Reid and sign a WR that would basically negate Reid and a big money DB that would cancel out either one we lose.
  22. I think so, he won't bring in a 3rd but a 4th is very likely.
  23. Considering that he'll be 29 when the extension kicks in I think it's a reasonable deal for Hill as well.
  24. I agree it all depends on the cost. Juju is a solid WR with nice upside but not a start to rely on as the top receiver. He makes a lot of sense for a sensible amount and Veach should definitely keep that in mind if he's really a target.
  25. Nice to see them taking the financially conservative approach on this one. IMO HB bringing in a 4th in FA is more valuable than the draft pick he saves us for the same contract.
